Agnus Dei qui tollis peccata mundi, miserere nobis (bis), Agnus Dei qui tollis peccata mundi, dona nobis pacem. Lamb of God, (you) who take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us (twice) Lamb of God, (you) who take away the sins of the world, grant us peace. This is the fifth fixed sung part of a high mass, or even not so high mass, as long as it is not simply recited. Molte grazie, caro profe!
@theprof1958 It is true that we are weak and fragile --up to a point. Do you then excuse the "weak and fragile" Nazis o le camicie nere? Do thieves and killers and tyrants have no sin because they are "weak and fragile"? I doubt you think so Lei dovrebbe reflessionare sulla questione del male nell'uomo. We can do good or do ill. That is our Choice. If we sin or err, we can recuperate and correct our mistakes or evil deeds. That is the Christian position.
@theprof1958 Jesus said to His apostles, "Receive the Holy Spirit. Whose sins you shall forgive, they are forgiven them" (John 20:21-23). That is our faith. He gave the power to mere men to forgive sins, but those who have that power have to receive the power from the successors of the apostles, the bishops. Many psychologists have noted that the sacrament of confession has given some comfort to people conscious of their sins. If you don't believe we can improve, then what?
@theprof1958 The Lamb DID take away the sins of the world once and for all, but We must do Our part to fulfill the will of the Father with the strength given us by the word and example of Jesus and with the help of the Holy Spirit. It's the same with humans: show me you are sorry for offending me or my family & friends. Facta non Verba Sin is Our Choice, but to turn away from sin is also Our Choice, always with God's help in Jesus Christ and the Spirit.

Dear Brother, why should I beg for mercy to the Lord?
I am innocent. As far as I can remember I have done nothing bad
Probably it's HIM who should excuse with us for creating so weak and fragile creatures like we are.
And why the Lamb doesn't take away sins of the world once for all?
Maybe Christians want faithful customers, who must confess often the guilt of having been created weak and sinner
I think that if God exists then it's His fault else it's better He doesn't exist
