Drum Workshop isn't everything, Mapex, Gretsch, Sonor: all less expensive alternatives that sound just as good if not better than the popular brands everyone uses like tama pearl and DW (not that they're bad, just overrated and overpriced)
I've seen Derico play a drum clinic in Muskegon Michigan, great drummer/great personality and while he can make 5 gallon buckets sound good his playing compliments these sweet drums extremely well imho.
@ElusiveWolf33 there's a 5-piece config for $2,500. adding another floor tom would make it around $3000 would be my guess, maybe a little more. still not great...but there is hope haha
Yes. Mapex will build you a custom drum. Or at least they did back about 8 years ago. I've got an 18x16" Orion Floor tom that is just a beast. I've got 22 and 24"x18" kicks, 8, 10, 12, 13, 14, 16 and 18 inch toms. I use an old Supraphonic. And these drums tune forever. You can get super high end ring all the way down to just finger tightening the toms and they all sound like little bass drums. Plus, the deal I got was 40% less than DW. No disrespect to DW, but these things sing.
If you're willing to pay, Mapex will probably build you a one-off kit to your specs and the finish you want... I know that they do build custom drums for people who ask.

I'll have to defend Mapex here.
Their hardware is great. I would say it's comparable to others' high end offerings.
I currently have/use the older single braced 700 series and newer 900 series stands,
and they hold up and have held up very well. The ball cymbal tilters are very innovative, and are excellent when it comes to precise positioning.
The Falcon pedal, though not for me, is a well designed and very smooth feeling pedal.
You don't need a rack for a brilliant kit.

Pretty cool that they've matched the build of the Blaster snare for a whole kit. That was definitely one of my favourites of the snare line.
