ok so Disney got promising but i did ant see them credit kimba and why should them get paid for it if its not the original design and people complain in art if one thing looks similar but it comes to kimba and the lion king then its ok? i love both shows dont get me wrong there where amazing but they should have said ideas from kimba the white lion and whatever else and great video fitting :) but they should not get away with things like this just my opion please dont flame
Growing up, Kimba was my favorite cartoon. I remember it well. Of course when Disney came out with the Lion King, I thought it was a rip off. I'm now convinced they are separate entities, both with their own endearing qualities. Kimba a fond memory of my childhood and Simba, a wonderful animated movie brought to life in an amazing Broadway show that everyone should see once in their lifetime.

(i mean, check out my username!) yes, when simba was first created in production (when lion king was called "king of the jungle") simba was white. i don't think the lion king 2 looked alike that much, except for the fact that kiara and kitty kind of look alike.
The lion king is very similar to tell you the truth, there is a character in the new advantures of Kimba called Keruru who looks almost identical to Kovu and origionally Simba did have two childeren, Kopa and Kiara.
the point here is that simba is a ripoff from kimba...lol theres a whole website dedicated to the subject :) still disnay did a really good job with the project...did you know that at first stages of development...simba was white?

awesome as a hardcore TLK fan when I found out about the old anime series (inspired or not for the making of TLK that's for another day...) I was like blown away...cool to see the two lion universes (no pun intended) be shown in both a positve light as oppose to competing..I see them as two sides of one story...like siblings? any thanx for making this vid, way worth it.

Even though Tezuka (creator of Kimba) was copied by Disney, which is the truth, it is no coincidence from what I have seen from this video and other videos, Tezuka would actually be proud of Disny because in Japan they like the remakes of many anime/manga

I think both are good. I agree, they did take a lot of ideas from Kimba and I love Kimba, but I love The Lion King, as I grew up watching it and it is my dad's favourite film, too.
That's because Disney created Lion King first as a "remake" of Kimba, but they couldn't secure the rights for Kimba, and they made Lion King instead, but still, Lion King took A LOT of things from Kimba.
Kimba = mature theme than The Lion King (TLK), considering most of what I've seen of it included guns. However, there is a great degree of fanbase that came with it. I enjoy Kimba more now that I'm older. TLK was more child focused, and carried less of a fanbase. However, the characters and plot were easier to follow, and it was my favorite movie. TLK is for a young audience, and Kimba is for an elder one. Ppl love both of them. Take your pick, and stop arguing about which was better.

Sorry, but Kimba /was/ stolen. Walt Disney's son wrote "The Jungle's King", and Walt Disney actually talked to the creator of Kimba The White Lion. The creator of Kimba The White Lion said he got his inspiration from Disney's "Bambi". I remember watching Kimba in Dominican Republic when I was a kid. more than 15 years later Dysney comes with "an original story"...Everyone screamed at the screen that day! Kimba had humans in it, Lion King did not.
Kimba is more cartoony and cute
Simba is more realistic and... cultural? idk
Kimba was a rare color, while Simba was normal
Kimba had less musical parts in it (if any?)

awesome as a hardcore TLK fan when I found out about the old anime series (inspired or not for the making of TLK that's for another day...) I was like blown away...cool to see the two lion universes (no pun intended) be shown in both a positve light as oppose to competing..I see them as two sides of one story...like siblings? any thanx for making this vid, way worth it.

Even though Tezuka (creator of Kimba) was copied by Disney, which is the truth, it is no coincidence from what I have seen from this video and other videos, Tezuka would actually be proud of Disny because in Japan they like the remakes of many anime/manga

you did SUCH A GOOD JOB!ive only seen the lion king and i grew up with it, so its only my opinion to think that simba is better.but then again now that i have looked at this video,they are very similar. please everyoe dont say that the lion king"stole" from kimba, cause that makes me sad.its ok to have an inspirational story right? you kimba lovers should be glad to think that an amazing film like the lion king took inspiration from kimba!they said it was from hamlet.

hehe, hey, I grew up with lion king before Kimba, but once I did some research, I couldn't deny the fact that disney copied it. sorry to make you sad, I like the lion king too in some aspects. but justice must be done, and i will not back down from this protest until and if disney ever DOES admit what they did. btw, Kopa is MY favorite tlk character....but disney is now denying HIS existance, too.

oh yeah ive heard of him! he was simba and nala's first child, and i think zera killed him ? then in the 2nd movie when kiara is talking to him " you cant turn your back on them." then kiara goes "why?" and simba doesnt answer :o its ok ive done a little research too and i have to agree they are too alike to be a coincidence lol. yes i think your right they should give credit to kimba :)

That's because Disney created Lion King first as a "remake" of Kimba, but they couldn't secure the rights for Kimba, and they made Lion King instead, but still, Lion King took A LOT of things from Kimba.

Kimba = mature theme than The Lion King (TLK), considering most of what I've seen of it included guns. However, there is a great degree of fanbase that came with it. I enjoy Kimba more now that I'm older. TLK was more child focused, and carried less of a fanbase. However, the characters and plot were easier to follow, and it was my favorite movie. TLK is for a young audience, and Kimba is for an elder one. Ppl love both of them. Take your pick, and stop arguing about which was better.

The simalarities are quite uncanny are they not?. There are alot of rumours about where the story for The Lion King came from, I've heard somewhere that The Lion King is based on Hamlet, but I think Kimba is the main inspiration. Has anyone ever noticed how simalar The Lion King is to Bambi?.

Sorry, but Kimba /was/ stolen. Walt Disney's son wrote "The Jungle's King", and Walt Disney actually talked to the creator of Kimba The White Lion. The creator of Kimba The White Lion said he got his inspiration from Disney's "Bambi". Anyway, both Walt Disney and the creator of Kimba The White Lion (who's name escapes me right now -__-) died before The Lion King was made.

great collage. But kind of makes evident that Dysney based the Lion King on these characters. And the story was kind of based on it too. I remember watching Kimba in Dominican Republic when I was a kid. more than 15 years later Dysney comes with "an original story"...Everyone screamed at the screen that day! Dont' get me wrong, the movie was great, but it was not ariginal!

Disney's cartoons are more complete but Kimba rules! I watched those on UHF channels back when I was a kid. I have the DVD's today. There is no doubt that the story was already told decades before Disney took it. I wonder if they had the decency to pay for it?

Well I went on a site and it really does seem like Lion King copied, there were so many similiar pictures I couldn't believe it. The only thing before that I thought were the same were their names Simba and Kimba.
