I am very proud to say I am the manager of these fine gentlemen! The man on the back is Driver Willie H. and the driver in the truck is Art Y. This is one of our most productive and safe routes in the Tampa district area. These guys are amazing! And to answer a question below, for the driver to get in and out of the cab slows them down too much. The drivers switch about every 45 minutes so they get a rest period in the cab! Thanks for shooting the video and also for the safety tips!

nice. Yea i was driving down a recycling route today of a wm mack le fel it was extremely heavy. never seen it that heavy even for a holiday. the guy said he startred early but was 2 1/2 behind. Plus he was almost packed out due to the amount of cardboard. I was going to get video but there was no place to park due to the amount of snow we got last week.
@nokia3750 Very cool! Too bad you couldn't get video... but I definitely understand - safety first. If you can't film safely - then it's not worth it.
Nice! so you eneded up getting one of those document SSI carts off craigslist? Looks nice. And damnnnn this guy collected that in less time than an automated truck could have even if it was all in carts! Great work to the WM employee and to you for filming!
@3amrepmike3 They were the same size as my SSI... looked like older and new models. He also had a really old "shopping cart" cart. I should have taken a pic of it...
@mtr82952 Most WM crews will not manually dump a cart from what I've seen - they prefer to fish everything out of the cart - this is why I bag all the small garbage.
@FormerWMDriver Yeah that is true I have seen the same in my county from WM, yeah I bag all my trash as well, I think not bagging trash is a bad idea, even if you want to be more eco freindly, sometimes I put a 35g bag in a manual bin and dump my kitchen can in it until it is filled, but then it is still bagged, I just used less bags by doing it that way. I am susprised there is not a cart tipper on that truck, espesialy since it is WM they have plenty of money for things like cart tippers LOL.
@mtr82952 I agree with you 100% on bagging. If everything is bagged it prevents most of the litter associated with waste collection and transfer.
You bring up an interesting point with the tippers. We have 3 haulers that are contracted to serve this county, WM, Republic and WSI. I know that Republic has tippers on their trucks. I can't remember if WSI has any, but I know that WM does not have any tippers on most of their trucks. With all the Toters out there... they should have at least 1.
@FormerWMDriver Yeah, they tell us to bag our newspaper here too for recycling, but that I dont always bad since the bags fill the truck much faster I will usualy just put it in the bottom of the bin so it stays in.
Yeah I am susprised WM does not, my only guess could be since they did not pass out carts, but if everyone is just going to go get a lowes toter then they really should just get a tipper truck. In my section of the county everyojne has tippers, but only 2/3 haulers sell carts tho.
@legodude24652 It's funny you say that! I was starting to wonder how long before someone hits it... cars are always flying by on that road. At least the cart won't move as much - so it's less likely to end up in the roadway.
