Christian hip-hop has existed since at least '82 - eg. MC Sweet - Jesus Christ (The Gospel Beat). God and truth has always existed. Since when is it not right for someone to express a message or truth in a song as they see it? It's fine not to agree with a message, but every song "propogands" something. I like to hear truth - this doesn't mean I need to hear the name of Jesus in every song, but I shouldn't it be mentioned once in awhile? The Creator of the universe deserves some props!
If you really think you need to go full fucking christian to have deeper houghts in hip hop music, maybe you should turn off the radio and mtv and listen to real hiphop. Listen to Good mournin by talib kweli and dj hi teks collab Reflection eternal titled train of thought. That whole cd is life changing to me.
I really liked your video and your channel. If you need any help getting this video or channel exposed I use a site called tubeviews.(net) It has really helped like 20 of my main videos get to the top in position. God Bless!

yea soldier is tha DJ, big ups man, i cant really listen to gossip rap but respect to ya, its like putin gossip in metal very hard, that's why both rap and metal mainly EXPLICIT LYRICS ^_^
this is so dumb... i mean i guess rappers have every right to put christianity into their raps but the people in this video seem to be cheapening the message of hip hop
it too bad that christian rap is being thrown under the rug from not only the hip-hop community but also the christian music community. however, i'm not so sure what kind style of hip-hop music christian rap artists are putting out these days....just look at Grits or Da Truth. listen to L.A Symphony!!
those are some interesting comments. I agree that christian rap is being dismissed by both the secular and christian communities. I was a little confused by your comment about the style of hip hop christian artists are putting out. You said you weren't sure about it. Can you expand on that?
It's been a struggle ever since Christian Hip-Hop's beginnings in 1987. But if you look around now, artists like Lecrae, Cross Movement, Da T.R.U.T.H., and even Grits are being looked at as not just positive, but the best alternatives to all the same, lame commerical mainstream rap out there these days. People who know real hio-hop are tired of materialistic emcees who talk about themselves all the time.
dude thats exactly what my friend wuz talkin about last time. he went from gangster rap to mainstream rap to like rock and hippie music cuz he was tired of listrning to the same old stuff
It's like guys saying "look at my bling bling, I got so many cadillacs I lost count," etc. And others listening to this junk are like "we knew that before you even wrote the song because of the rich label you on, quit being so repetitive." In the next 10 years, some secular rap fans might be buying nothing but Gospel hip-hop because it's the only profound rhyme-music out there right now.
That's true. The producer Rocwilder says he's only doing Christian hip-hop right now. This is a movement. I think every Christian emcee knows that we can't just say anything over a tight beat and have it be acceptable. We know that we're gonna be judged and that we're gonna already be at a deficit with some listeners. More importantly we know that we are judged by The Lord and we have to be responsible to Him for what we did with the opporunities He gave us.
whether its going to be a movement in the future....remains to be unseen....i personally believe that this genre of music shouldn't confine itself on the bare basic message of the gospel even though that is the motive....which was why i pointed out the style of music these christian artists are tying to convey....are they trying to lean too mainstream that they forget about the message they are sending or are they honest about themselves in their music so that non-believers can relate to them?
You have to realize that Christian rap is almost 8 years behind mainstream rap. Secular rap began in 1979, while the first ever nationwide full length Christian rap album didn't see the light of day until 1987. That is why it is taking so long for them to catch up.

They incorrectly identified E-Dogg as Pastor Wong and identified Pastor Wong as E-Dogg. Someone didn't double check the teleprompter LOL.
