@ARISR101 You don't have to, but it makes it a whole lot easier if you do because it takes you right to the vertex. If you click the link to my improved video (and you may have done it already), that formula is included in the improved version. Thanks for being so observant. And thanks for viewing.
Hello i have a quick question could you please explain the answer for this question " given y=2x^2+7kx+20 and y=5x+2, find k exactly so that the two lines intersect exactly once" please respond
@mapatrick99 Good eye. That was an error in the video and one of the reasons I created a newer version uploaded a few days ago. Thanks for viewing and commenting. I'm planning on conducting a contest for someone who does some keen analysis on that replacement video. Thanks for viewing and commenting.
@quieroCOMERwey The only practical way to solve by graphing w/o a graphing calculator uses a table. To do it w/o a table by graphing, use a graphing calculator. For other methods, you can solve by factoring, by completing the square, by the quadratic formula, or the square root method, none of which require a table to do. BTW, the word F*** is a very unpolite word in English and your statement would have been better without it. Thanks for viewing and commenting.
well thats good but i'd also but the -b/2a so that they can see the axis of symmetry where they should start in the middle of the table it will save you time and effort and make you feel a bit better about doing the work
@ERIC37185 You're right about that. I've been working on a musical/rap video about using -b/2a as a starting point as you suggest and I'll try to remember to let you know when I have it ready. Thanks for your input and thanks for viewing.
@phantomzade946 At 2:35, the graph you see has its lowest point at (1, -4), so that's the minimum. If you don't have a calculator or time to graph all the points like I do in the video, use the 1st part of the quadratic formula, x = -b/2a. Once you get thqt x value, that's the x-coordinate for that max or min. Plug the value you have for x into the quadratic function and you'll have your y-coordinate.also. You will then have the (x, y) value of your max or min. Thanks for view and comment.
he sounds tired sir becoz voice is sleepy but i got the right answer thnk u hope my sir learn frm u hw to teach without keeping on bla bla bla talk talk talk without anyone get it
@sourpatchtkids Joe's a character I use to help my students picture themselves working out problems. I have a student who's a star (like probably going to the NBA) basketball player who took a shine to solving quadratic equations by factoring, and went from there. Thanks for viewing and commenting.

dont you have to use the Vx=-B over 2a formula ???/?

Check out "Quadratic Equation Solver!" on Android Market. It gives answers in exact form and is a great way to check your work. Here's the link:

If you plug 0 in for x, how can you get y=6 in the equation 3x^2+5x-2=y?? it's at mark 5:50.

Perhaps you should make a video on the vertex and using -b/2a.

@gdawgrapper Hey how to you find the maximum or minimum of the graph for 2:35? And how do you find it.
