@johna6968 Yes, as you can see from the video, there is actually a hole where my foot rests on the footpeg. Elsewhere, there was little to no wear. I've actually gotten them resoled (see comments below). I tend to not wear my boots when I'm not riding, and these were dedicated track boots - never wore them when I was riding street.
Thanks for posting up this video. I was originally going to purchase the new Sidi ST but went with the Vortice due to the replaceable soles. Motorcycle boots makers should all take a look at this video!
@KeepFit49 Thanks man. I'm aware of those, but I've decide to use Alpine Stars boots from now on. Fit better...and less stuff on the exterior to hang up on bodywork and other stuff. Thanks!
@markcamp1 fair enough, but in terms of protection ive heard the sidi vortice boots cant be beaten, even by the alpinestar supertech boots. Plus most of the stuff on a sidi boot is replaceable which means they will last alot longer :) Go on give them another go!
I am researching how to repair my Sidis. I had de-laminated soles because I tend to walk around in mine. I found a black subtance called Awesome Goo which is heat activated and hardens into new sole material. I don't know what adhesion properties it has.
When I brought the boots to the shoe repair shop they thought I was from a different planet and shied away from the job.
Mine are in worse shape than yours, but I know that stuff would fix your boots.
@snif6969 I already got them resoled, AND bought a new set of the top of the line A*. I prefer boots that have all the protective stuff internally housed, so that they don't get hung up on the bike. The A* do that really well.
These are awesome boots with great protection and really good feel. I actually learned the proper way of riding by NOT putting weight on the inside peg, especially on the tip of the peg (unless you want to slide or wear-out the boots prematurely)...good video.
Boots wear and whatever... id have them resoled or get myself a new pair, put 20 bucks in a glas every month and you have cash to get yourself something new.. i mean look how much insurance is every month so paying money for new boots is a joke... know they cost a bit but i wouldt ride anything else.
Hi, if you don't do too many track days, you will be find with these...the soles are soft intentionally to provide extra feel, and they are very good that way. Also, I just got mine resoled with OEM SIDI soles for around $100 bucks...
The biggest issue with the Sidi Vertigo Corsas for me is that a lot of the exterior trim of the boots gets hung up on my fairings, etc. Happens worse on my Ducati than my Honda, but it's an issue. I'm making the shift to A* top of the line for that reason...but I'm still keeping these...
@buckwheat40 i have the Sidi Vortice Boots i had them for almost a year now. i use them fro 2 or 3 times a week. I crashed in them the bike fell on my ankle and it did not broke although i smashed the clutch plate with the boots. The sole on the Vortice is replaceable and that is awesome. Mind you they have a patient on it so you will not find it on other brands
Great boots.. but is all the wear n tear from just riding?

How many miles did you get out the soles before you had to resole them?

@ride2fly23 These were my dedicated track boots, so I'd say I did about 10-12 track days on them...
