I love your comment. I could of never had said that better myself..as for the guy below who commented on Geddy's voice cracking in the 2000's,I do not understand why Geddy's voice sometimes sounds not so ok and other times other worldly and angellic like but he is one of the truest legendary singers this world has ever known....
Good performance. Geddy's voice sounds better than usual. No cracking. Still don't know why he started doing that little crack in the early 2000s but it never sounded good.
just more proof that leaving it, the video, that is, up to the professionals, we wouldn't have this plethora of incoherence from multiviews of cellphone cameras etc... fuck it's 2011, leave that thing alone!
susususch the such such the my friend o fondle a bowl if douesnt go round and round like it used to do like my old jew fisherman watchkeepeer fact is he was a worn
Their popular peak was 1982 with Signals. But those sales were brought about by the radio bombardment of Tom Sawyer. Signals, much to those radio bandwagoneers dismay, was a much different result than Moving Pictures.
i think george carlin said think about how stupid the average person is, ok you got that image, now realize that over half the people out there are even more stupid than that! that's the reason why rush is still considered as a cult band, they never had the superstar status such as U2 (MOST OVERRATED BAND OF ALL-TIME) because their music is too complex for the average listener and they write music that makes people think! (U2 just think they do, really)
No people know rush, but they just don't like them cause there not interested into that type of music. now me, i'm an altime rush fan. and i really hate U2.
In Hershey, they were awesome although they didn't play this classic, they did surprise by playing Passage to Bangkok, Natural Science and Ghost of a chance. If you get the chance to see these masters don't hestitate, what an incredible show.
Awesome song. I saw them during Vapor Trails in 2003 and they didn't play this gem! I'll be seeing them on July 17 in Hershey Pa and I have my fingers crossed. I'd like to hear Camera Eye also. Pretty good vid! Thanks.
At 4:20 does anyone know what Geddy sings before the final "Everybody got to revelate?" It's also the last thing he sings on the version of Vital Signs on Rush in Rio. I can't make out what he sings, anyone know?
Rush always having at least one song on every album that no pun "deviates" a bit from the rest is why their my favorite .. They're always pushing the envelope , never afraid to try things .. Vital Signs, Territories on PW, Losing It on Signals, Madrigal on AFTK, Red Lenses on GUP, Tai Shan on HYF... on and on :-)) Bands that experiment are cool!
I like to see them playing this song a little more recently. I've seen it in videos recorded mostly in the 80's and 90's. Good to see that it sounds exactly the same!
You know I'd rather hear older Rush any day, but to respond to some comments here... "Secret Touch" is one of the best performances on Rush in Rio, whereas the Trees is just awful.
I don't know, there were a few songs from older albums that were improved from Rush in Rio. Some examples are Distant Early Warning, Dreamline, and La Villa Strangiato.
Unstable condition. In mental and environmental change. Of human interface and interchange. Internal incoherence. Everybody needs a mood lifter. Mixed feelings. Deviate from the norm! Rewind replay. Warm memory chip. Random sample..hold the one you need. Everybody need a soft filter. Elevate from the norm.
Yes! That's what I'm talking 'bout. Excellent lyrics. That's what Americans need-elevation from the norm. In whatever form it comes. To cope from all the Bush-shit we have to listen to everyday on the propaganda called NEWS.
Everybody has to deviate from the norm! Courageous convictions. Tired minds become shape shifters...everybody needs reverse polarity. Finally, somebody has a cure for stupidity.
Too bad nobody listens to what's free advice. Escalate from the norm. Relevate.
... But they play this song in Quebec... I was there and this version is awesome... You can ear it in the 3 pack cd rush in rio... The final of vital sign.. Ho my god!
I think they used i as a be side to one of their old singles!
"Some tough decisions had to be made. They wanted to get a balance of different types of songs. So some excellent material had to be left out. One of the leftovers, 'Vital Signs', was later released as the B-side of the 'New World Man' single." - Visions
