@ChaosAbbadon I'd be willing to buy it if they ever finish. I've put enough time into GW1 to get something out of it. Some things about it sound good. Graphics are still decent. Just not sure how long they can sustain their fan base without giving a good date.

Guild wars 2 is'nt a myth. If you followed Anet in what they do, you would know it. The game demo has been played a lot at gamescom, pax etc. And fan speculation is q1, q2 of 2012

Bro, I haven't even played for a while. So I'm not sure what to tell you. Maybe your connection got worse or they are moving more of their servers over for their new game coming out whenever that may be...I think Guild Wars 2 is a myth.

I figure it's to do with keeping gold from accumulating too quickly in the economy. With what this could have earned you (ectoplasm) you could sell/trade with them for huge profit. It's unfortunate that the rare item is now rarer, thus making some armor harder to craft.

The classes I used to use was Assasin/Elemental. This build is outdated and no longer works as shown. Just wanted to make that clear.

Um, I really don't know, sorry. Like you, I have stopped playing for a while. This specific area of the game is more difficult now due to: changes in Shadow Form + changes in skills for the enemies in the areas. Well, unless you're a pro (unlike me) who knows a newer better way.

Very badly. You can use wine to run the .exe client. It's just not as smooth or fast as on Windows. Just play it on Windows if you can. There are issues with the linux client when you attempt to hold ctrl to find characters and then try to click them on screen (same problem with alt as well). I was just doing it as a test for HD video recording.

This was before an update. If you had Shadow Form on, then you couldn't be the target of spells. You could take area damage, or specifically here you would lose energy from the grasps. They changed Shadow Form, so it works differently now, unfortunately.

No, sorry. I've pretty much put the game aside until Guild Wars 2 comes out. I've just lost interest after finishing it on multiple characters. You might find some info by heading over to the forums on Guild Wars Guru. Best of luck.

Yeah, this is on Ubuntu. You can use the program "wine" to run Guild Wars. I had compiz effects turned off as well. It's not as easy to play as on Windows, however. For example, if you right-click to change view it will work, but you will also have the dialog come up asking you about moving or closing the window. =( It's also slower, not so great graphic-wise, and runs the computer on the hotter end.

@viper474 when i tried it on my ubuntu 9.10, the graphics were terrible, so bad i didnt even want to play it. it may have been the compiz fuzion. ill try that later. and it did lag badly. i was only wondering if maybe you had higher system specs than i do so that allowed you to run it easier

I just have a 2.27 Core 2 Duo with 4 GB of RAM. It's a laptop. I would really prefer to play on Windows. It's a lot smoother process. Good luck with things!

it cause this was when shadow form blocked attacks 2 now the shadow form only makes spells fail, to make sin farming work now u have to use shround of distress and shadow form

The skill is Shadow Sanctuary, but it really doesn't serve a purpose so you can use whatever else you might want.

There are faster ways to get ectos on this run. such as using a a/me degen should enable you to clear faster (3 mins average). Also run this in normal mode because you get more ectos (yes you do because its faster to complete and HM doesnt affect ecto drops. + nm is easyer to clear cause the monsters are lower levels)

I've seen videos of the a/me build, and yes I do like it. I just use this one, however. I can tolerate waiting on ectos if I can get lockpick drops and tomes while waiting. It's personal preference, I suppose.
