Is it true that when you do a trick in the air, the jump takes longer, although you cover the same distance?

I'm not entirely sure, but that sounds about right. However it is possible to aim your vehicle downwards whilst going over a jump, so you'll land quicker and therefore get the boost from the trick quicker.

I don't think so. However, if you do a trick, if you do the trick to the side you'll land faster.
