  • are there any other ways to cook this?

  • mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

  • "Remember that heart attack I had about 30 minutes ago?...ACTING!"

  • where can i buy tuna at? i live in south east ks. Nowhere near water. The only tuna I see is canned at the store!

  • @sociopathpsych Whole Foods probably has some. You could also check an asian market if your city is big enough to have one, japanese cuisine uses a lot of fish.

  • @sociopathpsych it won't be cheap though.

  • Hooray for nuclear tuna. Gotta love cooking on something as hot as a chimney starter---next best thing to cooking on the surface of the sun.

  • too bad ahi is like $53512132 a pound

  • Soy Sauce... AAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

    O_ O

    WELL.

  • Was that a Pee Wee's playhouse reference?

  • true

  • 0:44 Claire de Lune!!!

    :D

  • lol I just commented on the last video refering to pee wee hermen, and in this one he said a "secret word" lol

  • If you get Wasabi be sure its real... most wasabi that they sell at the store is actually just mustard and horseradish, because real wasabit is a little more expensive.

  • -tuna is on a blazing fire a foot into the air-

    Alton: That's fine.

  • If he isn't a fan of fancy plating then why do they judge that in Iron Chef America?

  • @Timelord223 Well, he's a color commentator, not a judge. And fancy plating is cool and all, but if you're an average guy and not a world-class chef, one might screw up the food in order to make it look good.

  • this guy makes me think seriously about being a food scientist.

  • Wish fresh tuna like that was not so freaking expensive, otherwise i would eat it more often!

  • won't you get sick eating tuna that rare?

  • nah, most of the things in fish that can make you sick can die in an acidic environment (like your stomach) and the really bad stuff shouldn't be in your fish to begin with, so buying it fresh from a reputable place is important.

Although if you eat EVERYTHING well done, then this probably isn't for you. Your body won't be acclimated to rare meats.

  • @brosatriani : cool, thanx 4 the info

  • although most fish can be consumed rare, you generally want to avoid warmer-water fish, as their flesh can have worms.

  • @imsljr420

    Think about sushi...

Food poisoning is exceedingly overhyped - unless you are very young, very old, or in poor physical condition (immune/digestive disorder), you will in all likelihood be just fine.

  • no.

  • ...I cried too...

    OH MY GOD THE MEMORIES ;_;

  • And, of course, soy sauce. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

  • Hey, was the song that AB was referencing to as complex, Clair De Lune?

  • yup

  • those look disturbingly wiggly

  • One trouble with tuna, as wonderful as it is, being a top tier predator means toxins, like mercury, are most concentrated in their flesh.

  • whats the yellow thing he used to measure honey?

  • i think it's called a plunger

  • i love the peewee's playhouse reference

  • Hahaha man the end of the Terminator was definitely sad

But then the Terminator came back as the governator of cahleefonia

  • Oh gosh... during the initiation to high school, my classmate had to eat a whole lot of wasabi in soy sauce and cookies... yuck! And yes, she cried.

  • "What? I cried." hahahaha

  • why cook it? i'd eat that fish RAW lol

  • u could but its not sushi grade

  • hahahaha ACTING

    ab rocks

  • The Pee Wee's Playhouse reference was win.

  • Grilled tuna is awesome good this vid made me hungry.

  • I really wish I could get Wonder Fresh Tuna Here :(

  • Down cursed flame!

  • What!!!!!!!!!! he cried!! he is so hilarious!

  • "We don't want to do that until it's hot......okay it's hot."

  • do u think u could cook this in a really hot cast iron skillt because thats really hot like ab said u need????

  • man XD that dietitian she is mean and like to tunt AB

  • So what you are 40 ?? you look just fine and..heh f(^^. cute lol *blushes* I do like the part also when he said: what..I cried.. You can't have enough of Alton Brown learnings, fun, and laughing. Thanks for sharing!

  • i took a trip to the city recently and saw they were selling tuna in the maket just the way Alton made it (made me think of Good eats when i saw it lol) sesame seeds and all , sliced it went for $20 a lb.

  • I've never cooked tuna before, I would love to try this recipe, but dosent consuming tuna every day lead to mercury poisoning?

  • not unless tuna was raised in the holston river in northeast tennesee

  • Depends mainly on where it's caught, I think.

  • That is true, eating tuna everyday can cause mercury poisoning.

And eating steak can cause heart disease.

And eating honey everyday can cause botulism.

Perhaps eating the same thing everyday is never a good idea.

  • Everything you do, do in moderation.

Too much of anything is bad!

  • here here good sir!

  • You know AB got maaaad rutty with that dietitian.

  • achewood + AB = awesome.

  • you know what else studies show helps get rid of depression, not telling someone depressing things like turning 40 lol

  • Amen for that mate

  • Try using mirin instead of honey for a more authentic Japanese flavor

  • Mirin is AWESOME!

    Really sweet sake!

  • DOWN CURSED FLAME

  • "...What...I cried."

  • That was funny as hell!

  • i think it's debussy's claire de lune

  • Thanks for the info, I was wondering, too.

  • what is the name of that classical music thats playing I cant understand what he is saying, but I know I heard that song before!!
