Bike is now powered by 74v lipo - about 3.5 times the usable energy and almost 50 pounds lighter with lower cg(custom battery cases hold 24 5s packs wired as 20s into original battery locations).
sweet bike dude,i raced motocross for 8 years, that bike would be about the most comparable ebike to a gas powered bike, tks for the post,i'd like to see you rip up a motocross tack on that thing.
Cool bike, these would be great for kids and adults to learn how to ride motorcycles on. Then they can move on to using a gas motorcycle with a clutch.
I am building the John Bidwell designed Cheetah EV Mt Bike, it uses the Etek motor at 48 volts, but I am going the Perm PMG 132 @ 72volts with a Alltrax AXE 7245 (450Amp) 24 - 72 VDC ... Will be a death trap but FUN.
You can see the Cheetah on the web site evalbum(dot).com/615
Nice but for that much money the mfg should have used stronger components. but hopefully soon their will be production models from other mfg. with more competitive pricing.Yes I realise this is a modified unit. It is very nice. Good Job!
You are correct to the strength of the bike. Most components are moutain bike parts to keep the weight down. As to the power........it will kick a stock honda CR125 off the line. Power is incredable with a total of 22,000 watts of power. Recharge time is only 1 1/2 hours (not all day) and a rapid charge could be as short as 30 min. 60mph is good for an electric vehicle under 200lbs. As for the cash into it.....................I can say no one else has a bike like this one.
holy crap this thing must be a beast! you have a perm running full potentiel on a 195lbs machine with 300mm of traval! 120mm more than the zero! I thought bikeraiders project was overkill! Im thinking about running the new mars etek on 400 or 500amps @48v on a cr80 chassis. Also do you race 125s or something?
I am located in Coquitlam B.C. I have made dozens of Electric vehicles over the years. This bike is one of many. You may of heard of me though an Electric forum.
That is absolutely INCREDIBLE! Been following the progress on these as well as the Quantyas as I want to pick one up in the near future. Are you located in Ontario? Your YouTube name is very familiar. I recognize it from another site but can't place it right now. R/C maybe?
Your vid is a favorite on Monrovia
