fantastic collection mate!! Youre lucky youve got some experts to run youre items past, ive only a small collection and im pretty sure most of its original but its always in the back of your head that it might not be. where do you purchase most of your items, do you live in the states?

Thanks man, yeah i live in the states, in michigan. i get most o my items from other collectors and a few online dealers like therupturedduck and germanmilitaria there are also some online forums you can join where you can post pics and the experts can help you determine its originality, my favorite is militariacollecting where i learned most of what i know but you should join, its free and we always love new members! (and all the websites were dot coms)

are those things REALY original because all those iron crossen and other german medal where now maked in poland and germany they make them so good that you almost cant see that those are fake im just saying because those things cost almost 200 dollers and then they are fake i got one for 150 dollers and i give it tho a good expert and he said it was fake so i feal myself jike a dumbass but im saythis because people got faked mayby im wrong mayby those thing realy are real

yes they are real, i belong to a few militaria forums that have a bunch of experts on there. i usually run all my stuff by them before i buy. thanks for your concern i am aware of the numerous amounts of fakes out there. i have a pretty good eye, but its not an expert eye thats why i run them past the real experts

I get them from various places, one place you dont want to buy from is ebay, its chucked full of fakes. but there are many places you can purchase from. But you have to be careful, some sights may look good and in reality they might be selling you reproduction crap.

if i were you i would join the militaria collecting forum or MCF, i learned everything i know about collecting there. its free and you'll learn a lot. The Third reich militaria field is a dangerous one, learn all you can before you buy. MCF is full of experts that can also help you

collecting is a great thing it's preserving history, and more people who collect, more of it will still be around for people of the future to collect. I myself have a pretty small collection, but it's still a collection.

I hate the nazi's and all that they did and stood for. Yet I collect some german things because I have an interest in the period and thus it is important to collect things from all sides of the war. If everyone were to throw away every single piece of WWII German militaria future generations would never be able to truly understand what the germans wore. History is history, screw the politics, as long as you don't wear the stuff in public and do the salute what is the problem.

It makes me sick and tired that people cannot understand collecting third reich militaria. That period was part of history as well. I don't see people saying that collecting japanese WWII things are bad. The japs murdered and raped so many innocent civilians, attrocities like the bataan death march etc . Same thing with russian stuff, stalin murdered 20 million but no one says that that stuff is bad. As long as the collector is not marching around and promoting nazism what is the problem?

WOW, First off, from reading what that other person said there are so many people that do not understand what this hobby is all about. I have been a Military collector for over 25 years. I think it is a great way to learn what history is all about. I must have over 5000 pieces from all sides. Most is from WW2. There are more and more fakes working there way in and makeing it very hard for the new collector. You displayed your collection very well. Keep up the great work. V V
