He's EddieVanHalen. Nothing more needs to be said. This musician has nothing to prove to anyone. One of the most interesting amazing guitarists ever. ooops, i said too much eh ?!
Truly the master at teqn. wether it be tapping/phrasing, harmonics, using the tremolo bar ( I hate when ppl call it the whammy bar). No one can play circles around EVH. Not ygnvie, steve vai, Kirk hammet, paul gilbert, or whomever you might throw out there. Oh yea and not even slash.
well man,i love MR VAN HALEN!!!guys such as vai, malmstee, gilbert etc...are only guitar heroes(but you can't deny the fact that they are technicaly ahead of him)and slash?well he's out of the race since day one,i agree but EDDIE'S STILL THE POPE TO ME,FULL STOP!
he doesnt like digital stuff. he says he can almost hear the gaps between the ones and the zeros. i cant blame him, personally, he jumps around enough on stage anyway.
foxheadspeed - Ted Nugent may be some of those things you called him, (yes he is a prick) but regardless, he is a smokin guitarist. I believe the tone quality of using a the cord is much better than wireless.
Ed is freekin' awesome, but he's essentially played the same solo for years. I like the part in the beginning where he starts to noodle on some blues. Wouldn't it be awesome to hear Ed burn up some blues for a good part of his solo?
I love his low gain stuff the best! It really shows his touch on the instrument.
Yes, I know TN is a superb turd sucker - but that is not the point. I merely conveyed that EVH was playing corded (rather than FM-packed) and it reminded me of TN. C'mon people, read the post - think hard - then respond with a reasonable educated response :-/ Cheers.

So sad to hear NOBODY acknowledge the playing of the intro to Women in Love.
Shows how many bullshit fans were there at the shows only there to hear Jump and Panama.

Notice that his guitar is plugged in with a cable ala Ted Nugent style? Interesting.
