  • Very enjoyable thank you

  • cóveš jak chuj

  • is this what's considered tech diving?

  • @greasem0nkey86 He is a tech diver practicing tech skills. Since he is in a pool it is not really a tech dive

  • hahahah is so easy exercise in pool try in quebec and 3 deco stage but pratice your flotabiliter your because ine quebec is verry different is in cold water and your respiration is not rugular is verry easy in pool

  • Why do you need so many air bottles for diving in a pool?

  • i went in that pool and went scuba diving by that slope it gets deeper its awsum !!!

  • weird setup but nice skills!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • wtf your setupp sucks>>>!!!!!!!

  • Every moment of this is a prime example of how tec divers die. I sure hope it's meant as a gag and that people realize it, otherwise this guy is gonna kill someone.

And yes, I DO know more than you do :)

  • @kierenh2oski Can you please elaborate?

  • Every moment of this video is a prime example of how tec divers die. I sure hope it is supposed to be a gag and people realize that, otherwise this guy is gonna kill someone.

And yes, I DO know more than you, I promise :)

  • ture harry45 but there are good scuba stories on the net too. My favorite site is the myscubastory site. They have shark diver attack videos, true scuba diving stories, lost buddy stories, dive accident stories and videos. Type myscubastory into google and its the first one - enjoy :)

  • Okay stupid question but is there a nose piece or what?

  • @JobForAColton In most masks, the nose is accommodated with a rubber compartment, which allows you to pinch your nose to equalize, and obviously prevents water from freely entering the nose.

  • 100% control!!

  • This looks more like a internet tech diver. I hope no divers look to this for a skills lesson. His configuration looks ridiculous and his buoyancy is all over the place. I'm not sure he could hold a deco stop if he ever dove a true tech dive. If he was my student he would have failed.

  • horrible!!

  • Very informative movies after a person goes from beginner to advanced diver, it's also a helpful refresher in does and don't moves.

  • Deco gas is gas used for deco. Mostly used deco gases are nitrox 50% (above 21m) plus pure oxygen ( above 6m)

  • what is deco gas? anyone pls reply

  • @BlackMagicProd It's a gas blend. Usually Nitrox or Trimix or another blend with a higher concentration of oxygen used in decompression diving. Heliox is also used which uses helium to replace nitrogen.

  • @N8Ryder cool thanks. one of my mom's friends is a navy seal (retired, but still a LCDR and stationed in random places sometimes) and he just got his dive master certification, so im hopeful that i can get an openwater certification from him ^_^

  • yes fightsharkfishing24 but there are good scuba accident sites on the web too. try the myscubastory site. They have all sorts of dive stories and accident videos there. type myscubasory into google and its the first one. enjoy

  • Look, he may dive whatever way he wants but the fact is that for tec level diving he's fining a lot with his hands. I agree that doing the drills is a very good habit and one to be applauded but it is also important to do them correctly on all planes and that includes buoyancy and fining techniques (as well as constantly being aware of your surrounding which means head up during the v-drill).

  • why doesn't he go with nitrox or trimex instead of 3 or 4 tanks? =S

  • 2:42 leak in wing

  • @TheMichaeldiver Leak in wing = fail

  • @islandmaverick no it means he needs to patch it

  • @TheMichaeldiver True, true. How would you patch your wing? What would you use?

  • advanced skills demonstration WTF that is quite easy

  • can someone teach me how can i perform like him....there got to be some tips or trick to do this right? thanks

  • @troidat123456789 Just jump in your pool with your BCD all the way deflated. Cross your legs and breathe in and out at a normal pace and don't breathe unnaturally and deeply. Inflate your BCD until you can cross your legs and you're hovering and breathing normal. Sometimes it's good practice to close your eyes or look up just to learn your breathing. It can be really fun once you get it right. Hope this helped. =)

  • I don't know loads about diving, i've only done the PADI open water course, but when are you gonna need that much air (not a rant an actual question)? Surely your gonna run out of bottom time before you can use that much air and it couldn't be for buddy breathing because your supposed to go straight up if you have to buddy breath and you can get pony bottles for your octopus.

  • @TheDom845 These are technical diving skills for those deeper dives (deeper than 130 ft.) which may require decompression stops and require more than one tank. (Not a tech diver myself, but looking into it.)

  • this is like teaching a 4 year old kid how to eat Ice Cream.... WHO GIVES A SHIT! Are you gunna back hand the kid because he is licking from the top and the sides are melting... Shit, people nowadays.

  • Im suprised a tech diver cant spell buoyancy properly, not boyancy as is in video

  • @ rescuediver: dunno if the configuration i wrong, but why would you have your backup regulator come over your left shoulder? Both should come over the right! You would also clip your longhose to your right shoulder D ring when not in use! His setup is VERY bulky and hoses have the wrong lengths!

  • smooth skills well done

  • diving looks so cool

  • This is the WORST video demostrating technical scuba skills. Configuration of equipment as well as the skills demonstrated are totally WRONG and not in accordance with any diving organisation. I think that this diver has developed his own technics....this video is only for laughing !!!

  • @altsam74 what are you talking about you make no sense i am a tech 50 padi diver and i see nothing wrong with it whats the problem??? besides you.

  • snow4man there is also another site called myscubastory that has diving stories like accidents shark encounters etc. type myscubastory into google and its first one i think..

  • Easier if you use a 40 cuft aluminum tank not the steel tanks shown here. Very nice skills. Dont like the tucking in main reg on to bungy try clipping off instead. Also try longer deco hose and loop aorund neck nic eone

  • Easier if you use a 40 cuft aluminum tank not the steel tanks shown here. Very nice skills

  • How big are these Bottles on your back? 8,5l ?

  • Looked good to me. Guy looked solid and calm. I'm just open water cert but I thought he looked good.

  • nice example of a neutrally boyant diver, i used to dive yrs ago was sport diver through bsac but had to give up through sinus probs, kept sinus dumping, hated giving up id dearly love to dive again :(

  • Skills that everybody should and must learn... One thing bothers me though, how is ti possible to stay in a completely balanced position even when moving the side cilynder avay from you (with hands 0:46 )? I have many things to learn, I am fairly new to this sport (had my licence (P1) for 1,5 years and only 7 dives).... Keep on fillming videos like this (demonstrating skills, procedures,...)!

    Cheers,

    Rok

  • I'm learning to scuba dive and so far I only have a PADI textbook and have not even met the instructor yet. So I was wondering , what is deco gas? Any other tips would be greatly appreciated.

  • @cheesedude24 Hi not sure if anyone replied to you but deco gas is for tech diving and you wont need it until you become advanced. happy diving!

  • The diver's trim and buoyancy are not good, nor are his positioning techniques as evidenced by the large amounts of handswimming. The diver uses both hands for many techniques. The diver does not verify the MOD of his deco tank. The diver does not ensure that the SMB is clear before releasing.

  • does anybody here know what a POIS is? or what they are? (without looking them up) just wondering...

  • この安定感は素晴らしい!!

    早くこのLVまでたどり着きたいwww

  • The arm waving at the end of every skill is very annoying to watch after a few minutes. He is also pretty consistently dropping his knees.

  • actually, the guy is a prime example of a bad example

most newbs can do these skills in a pool / semi / no gloves

no show the open water / dry suit / dry gloves video where he crashes and burns

even in the pool this guy is poor skills #1

  • whoa that's a ton of equipment!!! I want to become a marine biologist so bad and I am wondering, is there any techniques I can practice, classes i should take at school, or anything I can do to be more prepared for becoming a marine biologist? Oh and I'm 15 years old. Any advice would be deeply appreciated. & also i only have access to a lake.... but I went snorkeling all summer about every other day trying to hold my breath just a little bit longer every week haha. :)

  • @thejoshin8r1 Snorkeling skills are very important, but you most likely don't know how to practice true skills. The most important thing you can learn to do is be calm in the water. Practice not using your hands to swim around but rely on your fins. Also learn how to clear your snorkel without blasting the water out of it. Practice clearing your mask by filling it with water and then blowing water in it through your nose. Take a scuba course at a dive shop. And make good grades in school!! :)

  • @101cbboot I have all A's and B's except 2 C's in English and Culinary arts. I got a couple questions. When you say rely on your fins, do you mean my legs? How do i clear my snorkel without blasting water out? And the goggle thing sounds super tough, but i will give it a try (in the summer time of course lol). Well, I am deeply thankful for this info, but i would LOVE it if you helped me out a tad bit more. thanks again. :)

  • Excellent. Learned a couple things watching as well.

  • Very very, well balanced, even some of good diver cant' do balancing as well. And also other skills were nice.

  • Lots of harsh comments. The guy did fine. No it's not what I would call tech instructor level demonstration and he's not DIR (so what, it's just one style) but his buoyancy was nice all the way through and he was going through the major steps correctly. Personally I would suggest he gets his wing inflator properly stowed with some bungee to avoid it hanging and keeps practicing. I've seen a whole lot worse in the water and for all I know I could be one of them :)

  • you idiots thinking of yourselves so smart...it's very good what he's doing didn't your instructor told you to exercise those drills?keep on doing that and i promise nothing will happen to you...pm me if you wanna find out the optimal ascending speed without decompresion

  • What a Joke.

  • What a Joke.

  • is it safe to brieth gas from tank?

  • I think this is fascinating. I'm only a novice, so watching someone with such great bouyancy is fun. For those of you who don't dive, while this looks so simple, he's doing all of this by touch/feel, and with all those hoses and different attachments, he's doing well not to confuse one thing with another. Good job!

  • @hellafyno What if you are at the elementary level? I think know-it-alls should be shot, then drug though the town for all to see.

  • ok, offcourse has a very good boyancy controll, for my tastes a little too mutch hands swimming adjustament, by the way....

ah, and too mutch red. :D

  • I have only got about 25 dives to my name and if my boyancy control is 1/10th of his i would be happy. the guy never moves, how on earth does he do that. mine isn't bad either, my instructors were reasonably happy with my boyancy control this guy looks like he is out for a sunday strol....i'm suitably impressed.

  • the 3rd day in my SCUBA class we were takin off our masks and throwing the respirators over out shoulders

5th day we were having our tanks shut off behind us underwater, so if thats what beginner lessons are, idk wtf this guy is doing talking about "advanced skills" haha

  • @krypekeeper Dude's demonstrating perfect buoyancy control while shutting off his own air. You're making an ass of yourself with your ignorant beginner's comments.

  • @FantasticBob7000 umm, its not that hard to stay neutrally buoyant dude

  • @krypekeeper I'm not convinced you're any good at it.

  • @krypekeeper your an idiot. what you did was normal skills for open water, this is tech diving skills. he is actually handling these skills very well, you wouldnt be able to do one of the skills just shown. and when you got your tanks shut off under water you had your buddy and Insructor right next to you to turn it back on. i am a MSDT, and the skills just shown were advanced. dont talk shit about people that are clearly better than you.

  • @GotKusHHH obviously you are a shit dive master. half this shit I WAS DOING my 4 or 5th class fuckin moron. where did u get ur cert, fuckin mexico

  • @krypekeeper haha relax man. You clearly did not do this on your 4th or 5th class, because for open water there are no 4th of 5th classes....so get your stuff right before you talk. 1st day for do you classroom portion, witch is where you do your 5 knowledge reviews and the quizes after each, then later that day you do your confined water dives (in the pool). so far that is one class.....the next day, 2 open water dives... the day after 2 more, and then you are certfied. no matter how

  • Yes, I'd say he's right up there with me! ;D

  • I havent`n read the commets, I`m an instructor, 2,300 pluas dives, and I can tell this guy has skills, he IS good. whomever says he isnt, ask to yourself, "could I do that?"

  • @wirikuta14 It's all in the lungs! :D

  • This is not advanced in anyway , to the person who sid that you can only buy steel in the uk , wtf are you on about i use 2 euro 7ltr aluminium deco bottles , this is not dir in ANYWAY , just to name a few GUE do not dive stages on the right , all bottles are slung left , he has boots on his tanks they are an entanglement hazard in a OH environment ect , at 2:48 look at the mess of his regs , on the gas switch there is no depth check , and that is the most shit shutdown drill i have ever seen

  • If you would like to see more of the underwater world of koh Tao check out Filmedonkohtao here on you tube

  • what kind of camera do you use

  • GREAT boyancy here! Awwww I have my Advanced exam this weekend! Can't wait!!!

  • Perfect Drill!

    DIR as its best.

    THX a lot.

  • this is advanced and barely any hand movements only to push himself away from the camera instead of back finning. every diver should set up his/her kit so that they and there buddy knows it inside out it doesn't matter that some idiot on utube doesn't like your set up all that matters is that you like and feel comfortable with it. also he is diving with steel cylinders because that is all you can buy in uk. and i bet he's better than all you wanabe extreme tekies that take the fun out of diving

  • i luv the sound of water :X :D

  • pretty cool... yet weird... the little necklace he has on is kind of obnoxious.... idk my opinion

  • wow i am new to scuba diving could someone explain why he would need all the extra kit especially at like 3:00 mins it looks rediculous ... thnk you :)

  • @rock2damax07 its for decompression when you are making those types of dives (tech) or just a bail-out for when you might run out of air

  • @macdive100 oh okay thanks :)

  • Good job.. However I would get your wing Fixed.. you have a Bad leak lol

  • how do you keep yourself at the same level is it just natural

  • Never deploy SMB Like that especially in cold water Cos of Free flow what a KNOB. Like to see his shutdown routines in a drysuit and again his trim is WANK

  • His trim Is Quite Shit to be honest

  • I always put my stage on my left side.. What he is doing seems to be wrong to me ??

  • Someones been watching the GUE DVDs.

I particularly like the backwards frog kick. I think he might have gone forwards on that one.

The bouyancy went downhill pretty quick as well, plenty of flapping arms.

As for the shut downs and reg swapping, what is going on with those hoses? 'Stowing' the primary reg in the bungee?

Out of the pool and into Stoney Cove for more practice

  • Oh the lovely clean warm water of Stoney Cove!

  • This isn't advanced at all.

  • boyancy. does he work on his girlancy next?

  • LOL, dude needs to work on his diving before he starts posting demonstration videos. Is this a joke?

  • That was the funniest video I have ever saw..I seriously almost wet my pants..

I think the smb deployment was stellar tho haha

  • Bad fins for frog kick...

  • I can do all that

  • He is in a pool, but give him some props! He is really better than over 90 per cent of the people I see on my dives, don't be

    mean!

  • what kind of camera / video recorder was this taken on?

  • the key here is his back floatation /wings.experienced wise i guessed..

  • Try doing that in a dry-suit :D

  • boyancy, requlator swap, switching to deco, and the shutdowns were all extremely easy...

  • He appears to just be a very skilled recreational diver that's watched a few internet videos and developed his own way of doing things that sort of resemble the GUE (DIR) methods. He definately needs to take a Fundies class and put that effort to good use. I think with a dedicated GUE instructor he will do just fine. Certainly better than most rec divers I see out there. At least he has buoancy control! LoL

  • There is no such thing as elitism when it comes to safety. It is completely in the interests of the diver to be safe and reduce risk to a minimum, because your life overrules all other considerations.

The issue is that different people argue that there are different ways to be safe.

  • the only neg point i wld see is the dsmb launch

    a) i do not like to use reels for that - jamming to easy, there was a death not too long ago on the a doria because of this, - fingerspools are much better. and b) i prefer to fill the dsmb out of my wing as this way i do not change boyancy when filling the bag ( on oc maybe not that bigger deal but on ccr a totally different story)

  • nice! but let's be honnest.. it's in a pool!

  • you negative bunch of elitist jerks. He is still better than 90% of the Divers you see on your holidays. And at least he is exersicing the drills. Give him some love and point out mistakes he makes and give him useful advice instead of childish flames. Is that too much asked?

  • @Samurailord : Agreed, thank you.

tonks0001 did not say what was wrong with his trim. I honestly can't spot it and I would like to know.

  • @Samurailord You are completly right.

    DIR as its best.

    Perfect drill.

    THX a lot;)!

  • this guy is shouldnt be diving you never place your primary rug under the neckstrap of your alternate 2nd stage this is clipped of to the chest d ring , plus hes using a bugeed wing , the gas shutdown procedure`

  • I think this diver should do a tec course with an affiliated organisation...

  • he blew the last set of examples:

valve closing and opening, he made so many moves he forgot which one he opened and which one he closed LOL he had to press the purge button to see which one flowed. Righty tighty lefty loosy

  • what the hell is deco gas

  • decompression gas, usually for deep dives so if u run out of air in oyur mainsu switchto deco while surfacing

  • what happened to continuous breathing?

  • his trim sucks

  • My grand mother do it better.. =)

Repeat please, but do it in a dry suit and without mask..

  • I Was just Joking! ok!

  • who the heck needs 3 cylinders? lol. You could be down there for hours with that much ar (provived youre at a shallow depth...)

  • Tech Diving means decompression. He is being smart and keeping his skills sharp at shallow water so he doesn't kill himself at depth

  • @cadwgawn quite true my friend!

  • what the fuck on the second thing all he did was fucking un-clip and re-clip he dident even change reg

  • The skill is practicing removing and replacing deco tanks. in the open ocean you leave your deco tanks outside the wreck when penetrate. That is what he is demonstrating.

  • @cadwgawn

you are an absoluite idiot you never ever leave your deco gas outside a wreck mate you shouldnt be diving if u follow procedures like that , if you cant get in the hole fully kitted the hole is to small and you should not penetrate.

  • Who the hell made you SCUBA God? I've had to take my rig off hundreds of times so I could fit through a hole. If you can't doff and don your entire rig underwater, you are too unskilled to be a diver. And why pray tell would you take a deco bottle inside a wreck anyway? Afraid a fish will steal it?

  • He shows good bouyancy control. Not as easy as it looks. All of this is a step up from the 'basic' diver course.

  • How is this advanced? The only concept that was remotely challenging seemed to be shut down procedure.

  • Man I'd rather dive for fun then have 3 tanks on me

  • thats for deep dives

the smaller tank is enriched oxygen, it is used for coming up

the two tanks in the back is a mix with helium in order to negate the effects of what i believe is called in english nitrogen narcosis

  • the smaller tank might be "enriched air" (ie, over 21% mix) - for accelerated deco, OR it might be "oxygen" (100%) - again for deco (but limited MOD is 6m for 100%).

the two tanks on his back is just a twin-set - doesnt mean he's diving on helium! A helium mix would mean he's diving on a trimix which means he can go deeper for longer - but thats all.

  • good ol martini effect

  • My instructor said this to me when i finished my NAUI OW. Now you learned how to dive, but now you must learn to dive" I think that was a good thing to say :P

  • all them tanks are a little over kill you thank>?

  • For you, yes. Yes they are.

  • how much does that equitment weigh?

  • depends on how much lead you need to carry

  • Those are steel tanks. (even the deco cylinders) You would need no lead.

  • When in water, it weighs nothing. However, when you try to climb aboard a boat after a dive, you feel as heavy as a car.

  • is it possible to learn most of what u need to know about PADI scuba diving by a week, even if you are 13 years old???? plz someone answer me!!

  • You can become a certified diver in a week if you dive centre offers this course schedule. Google for padi open water diver.

  • I got my certification when I was 12, but in several night classes over several months. There are intensive, week-long course. But unless you're in a vacation spot, don't expect your local dive shop to offer them.

  • No. It isn't.

  • ...everything is possible for a 'man', but scuba diving is not about possibilities, is about traing knowlege and experience. So even if you learn everything in one week you still can not dive safely in one week...after all there is a minimum of age and i think is 16 or 18 years old..

  • @jupiterrider In the states in the 80's you could get your junior certificate if you're younger than 15, I got my SSI advanced when I was 13. The biggest concern is the dive tables don't apply to really young kids but other than that, young people can learn just as well as adults. Maybe better.

  • In the states you can pay to do almost anything, I live in Greece, so do you believe that 1 week training is enough for a 13 years old kid?.

  • @jupiterrider I didn't say 1 week was enough. I went through the same course as adults, except at the end I got a junior certificate. I got it upgraded to a regular adult certificate when I turned 15. The course took about 8 or 10 weeks because we only met once a week.

  • @FantasticBob7000 Sorry If i sounded Ironic, I generaly believe that it is not corect when I see people advertising SCUBA Diving as a completely safe sport, I believe it is not. It;s wonderfull yes, interesting definately but not completely safe. One of the main reasons for that is that you depend so much on your buddy and you can never be sure that he is always at 100%, you know what I mean..I changed the subject, sorry, so what do you thing about that? is it or Not?(a safe sport)

  • @jupiterrider I certainly agree it's not a completely safe sport, I don't think most sports are. I was responding to your age comment but I didn't notice your other comment about one week being too short a period to learn... I agree one week isn't long enough to make a safe proficient diver. But maybe it's enough for a shallow dive with a divemaster? I think tourism and money make it tempting to certify people in a week.

Diving in Greece must be great, huh?

  • Even though it's dificult to find a full of life place to dive in Greece, the fact that we have been living of the sea for thousants of years, makes it possible to find wrecks almost anywere so it is definately interesting, a few years ago a free diver in NorthEast Greece wile diving for fun he descovered a set of ancient Tools that changed the History of something Importand.. Diving in Greece is Nice.

  • @jupiterrider It must be similar to Cyprus, I loved diving there. Maybe I'll have to visit Greece next time.

  • um...you might want to rethink that valve drill
