mancini wanted the ref to stop the fight in his second meeting with bramble watch it you will see him trying to get out of the fight early on saying he couldent see.....bramble gave him a thorough beating in their first meeting.....not quite the heart of a champion....du koo was a mirror image of mancini....very tragic....the nigger genes in mancini biological make up gave him a thick skull, thats how he made it through that one, basically , he was an over rated club fighter. duran would kill em

@idontwantohurtnobody if Mancini was just a club fighter, how did he take Alexis Arguello 14rds, & then win WBA world title? because i"ve never heard of a club fighter winning a world crown, otherwise they all would! ps being tough has nothing to do with race or the ability to take punishment. Mike McCallum said the toughest man he ever fought was Steve Collins from Dublin, FACT..

I agree with the premise of your post but club fighters or mediocre fighters have one titles. You are watching one right now in Art Frias. Mancini well above a club fighter and this fight is proof of that.

hey the ref is richard green. a few years later he would be in the ring when mancini killed duk koo kim, and later kill himself.

@Robstailey It's weird because if you watch that fight (or have watched it) Green did nothing wrong. There were no outer signs during the fight that said "stop the fight." Kim was fighting until the end. Kim even got up after he was knocked out in the 14th when the fight ended. It was just an unfortunate accident on all ends. Tragic that Green killed himself, which many say was because of that fight.

wow man that sucks that art lost growing up when i was a kid i never knew about this my mom never told me about it until i was older art was a cool guy and a good stepfather to me when i would visit then for them summers

Mancini certainly wasn't the best fighter but he was definitely exciting.

Round of the year, buy I don't think fight of the year. That was Arguello-Pryor and Chacon-Limon IV, they were co-fights of the year
