you obviously dont know much about them. Theyre an independent band. Tooth and Nail and even Glamour Kills sponsors them. Theyre first album was independent, theyre 2 and 3rd were under Tooth and Nail...but THIS song is on their 4th album which was ALSO independently done...and THIS is the one that helped them reach the top of the music charts in Chicago.....so relax.

I do not consider myself a christian but agnostic. so i am open to others opinions. i respect others beliefs. you as a christian are able to look at other things as well. that's a quality i would like to see more often. unfortunately in the area i live in i feel as if the Christians are far to close minded. i am not knocking them, but that's just my perspective. Just as a point of order, none of the bands anyone has mentioned on here are even close to punk. They are pop punk at best. Punk would be Rancid, PennyWise, H2O, The Ramones, Anti-Flag, etc. BIG DIFFERENCE. Even the Ataris are more punk than Mayday parade...closest thing to a punk band that's been popular in mainstream music has been Green Day. Just to clarify =)

Dude, give up on that. I've tried to explain what real punk bands are but it never works. People define punk the way they want to. I wouldn't call Green Day full out punk. I'd say their early stuff, like Nookie album and Nimrod, would be but not American Idiot. Nirvana was punk and they got mainstream. Blink 182/ +44 punk that got mainstream. Good Charlotte and Yellowcard are more new age pop punk but still got mainstream.

It's not mainstream. Fatman is right. Britney, Katy Perry, P!nk, The Killers, and bands/artists like that are dominating the charts. The reason ATL won Best New Artist is because none of the big bands of this year are new, like Coldplay, Lifehouse, Matchbox 20, and bands like those. The All American Rejects have done well with "Gives you Hell" and The Fray is making a name with "You Found Me" but neither of those bands can be considered totally punk. Just my oppinion though,.

Btw: I'm sure ATL would have lost out to Leonna Lewis, Duffy, Katy Perry, Lilley Alley, Matt Nathanson, or Eric Hutchinson but they are not bands. Mayday Parade is huge in the underground mainstream if you know what I mean. They are not like MTV huge. Their like MTV2 huge. The only punk huge band is Fall Out Boy. I was suprised that The Academy Is... got their single "About a Girl" onto MTV2. Thats not hard but it's suprising for a semi-punk band to do it.
