  • It is ooga booga, it's just pronounced differenly like ooga boooooga like booga pronounced extensivley! OOga BOOOOOga

  • bing bong bing bong bing

  • And BTW, Crash says "Da da daaaa!"

  • He says "here we go" and "I disappear".

  • poondigga.

  • I always thought it was "Hawpadop *ba dum dum*"

  • @AgeAwkward I thought it was Buda Buda

  • It says PORBEGA

  • maricona

  • I always trough he said "Uka" or "Uga".

  • I think he says: Uru-bagah or something like this.

  • It is, "Oohga buuga!" And I'm a hundred percent sure of that.

  • Hud-be-ga...? and then "My he-head!"

  • Sounds like ''boule de gras'' which would make no sense since the are french words for ball of fat

  • the second one is oh my goodness

  • "UGABUGA!""Find to the Ga!"...?

  • umbuga and polly mcgregor

  • sounds like "hoodibigah!"

  • Woobuga, that's what I've called it since 5

  • I always thought he said "HOOBOOGAH"

When you lose him it's Crash Bandicoot saying "Why did you hit me?"

  • Hurdega

  • Bumbaga! hahaha

  • I used to think he said "pupetar" when I was younger.. Now it sounds like URBEGA (read in italian, and I mean the E read as the A in "day").. On the second one, I can't even think of a transcription of what he's saying xD

  • Blood-Gay! My bard-beh-tech! :P

  • BURDEGà

  • ...The first one totally sounds to me like "Ooduh booga!", as nonsensical as that is. And the second one, "My man Boodiga!" or something. Seriously, what is wrong with my brain? XD

  • I used to hear "Hurbatha" and "my head gone"

  • "put up your guard" and "polly pretty pretty now".....that what i thought back in the day anyway.

  • who do we got?

  • ooooooooogaaaaaaaabaaaaaaaa... then oh my good gracious

  • I hear WOODABOOGAH!

  • I don't know where I got this from, but when I was a little kid I thought he was "the witch doctor", so I thought when you got him he was saying "What do we got" really fast, like 'what sort of ailment do you have'. Then being 7 years old, I didn't think too much about it, and it just sort of solidified in my mind as "Oh, funny goody goody gosh" when you lose him.

  • bunga & mali-heli-huli-na to me. Other then that I bet guys in the studio told the voice actor to put a spontanious fitting sound;)

  • To me it'll always be ABUGAHDA

  • The second one he says, " oh my, good gracious" the first is just tribal nonsense

  • I've always thought it sounded like 'Burdaga', or something like this

  • Wubbagdah

  • I always thought it sounded like "ah-poke-ah-dah".

  • If you slow it down even more, like -200% speed, you can distinctly hear him say "You're looking to far into this, just play the damn game."

  • @RealMasterChief117 Wow, so if you slow it down, you can actually hear the grammatical error of him using 'to' instead of 'too'? Learn something every day huh?

  • @LyingSecret

Damn I knew that mistake was going to bite me in the ass.

  • @RealMasterChief117 You can't look too far into this. This is important!

  • @GarlandTheGreat

Ooh a reply by Garland himself? In that case... I always heard "pumbuga" upon picking up the mask. People say "oogabooga" and I just don't know where they get that from.

  • @RealMasterChief117 I don't get "oogabooga" either, since it's clearly three syllables and not four.

  • @GarlandTheGreat

Suppose we somehow managed to ask Naughty Dog... this myth will be settled once and for all.

  • @GarlandTheGreat I think he says buldoga

  • Of COURSE we go into an in-depth study on what A FREAKIN' MASK says...

I love your channel sometimes, Garland!

  • i always hear burdega xD

  • I thought he said bofaga

  • Comment removed

  • to me it sounds like "Hoobaga" and "Mythatain'tgoodenough"

  • @TheLastDarkVanguard I can't unhear mythataintgoodenough now.

  • @NightShadow0 *Sid James laugh* oh srry bout that but ya gotta admit it does sorta make sense.

  • poomiga D:

  • He is just saying, I boning your bitch!

  • He clearly says "BOOBERTELSMANN" when you get him and makes an expression of contempt towards the authorities when you lose him.

  • poop-it-up ROFLMFAO

  • I always thought he said "Urrrtaka" (As you'd read it in spanish)

  • I used to think he said "POOP-IT-UP" , that other one I just used gibberish, and the other sound when you lose him in the old PSX ones It sounded to me like he was saying "BETTERGETGOING" really fast.

  • FANIBADIGUDIGA

I used to call him Booga Booga xD

  • I hear a B in the beginning I say "boom-be-de-ga" I can't put the ending into words

  • I thought he said Rutabaga

  • Hoombaga

  • Poopaga

  • all i hear is boordega xD

  • I always thought it was Hoodabaga (Like Rutabaga?) and Pani-pani-penny-now XD

  • When I was young, it sounded to me like "boule de gras" (ball of fat).

  • BUDEGAH!!!!

  • I think we are all in agreement that ugabooga is the first thing he says.

  • BOO BUGGA!

    FATTY WENT BINGO!

  • URDEGA! MARARIKORINA!

  • I always heard it as B'HOODUBOOGA, it sounds like it's read out faster than it looks. If you see what I'm saying...

  • Ugabugga

    Maridcaneegah

  • I always thought he said "boogada" then "ohIgotrippedoff"

at least when i was younger.

  • BULGODA!

    HANIBADIBUDIDA

  • I always tought it was BOODAHGAH!

    And then BAHDEEGAHREEGUREEGAH

  • 1) Unamaga

    2) Mynigranigraniga

  • FINDAPRETTYMA

  • Hugbudah

  • Hungalabugala :)

  • When I saw you uploaded this video I started laughing. Thank you.

  • Hudabaga?

  • Could be aboriginal, would work with the Australian setting.

  • i thought that he said "bublbaga"

  • "Ooga Ba" for receiving him.

  • i always thought it was "boorbedog" and called aku-aku "boorbedog" too)

  • I always heard something like "Bolboga" when you get it and a very fast "I need a checkpoint" when you got hit.

  • I thought he said "My pratracia" when he crash got hit.

  • HOBAGA

  • No matter what it actually is, to me it will always remain 'OOGAHBOOGAH'

  • Same here. Ah,memories of my childhood.

  • WHODAGOD?

  • OOGABOOGA when you get him, random noises when you lost him

  • Actually, after listening to it a few more times now, I'm going for "HOLBUGA", with a U instead of the second O...

  • I'm Norwegian as well, btw.

  • HUGABUGGA

  • I've always thought Aku-Aku says Hurbaga :)

  • HUDABEGAH! (obtained aku)

    HADEBGIGEHGAH! (lost aku)

  • FANIBADIGUDIGA, haha so true!

  • HORTULA

    WADIGADIGUDIGA

  • It's great to know that I'm not the only one calling Aku Aku by the sound it makes. Like a lot of sounds, the way you pronounce it really depends on your language, so it would be great if people wrote their mother tongue as well.

Anyway, I'm french and it sounds like "Bouldega" (Boo-L-Duh-Gah) and "Balegoudega" (Bah-Leh-Goo-Deh-Gah)

  • My buddy, Goody Howe

  • OODABUGGA

  • Rutabaga

  • My mother always called him the "What have I got?" Mask ^^

  • A BOOTY KA?!

  • Rutabaga?

  • ogga booga

  • I heard garbled words, to be honest.

  • Hoodabaja! (ba-boom boom)

  • I thought it was crash saying "Oh my goody guy!" like he was startled that the lost his good guy that helps him when he got hit. Not sure about the other thing. I assume that it's some type of ancient mask language.

  • Burruka and branvikeida. Well, that's what I always thought.

  • burbega

  • Get: Oobidaga

    Lose: My Oobidaga

as a child, that's what i always thought. after hearing that? I have no firggin' idea...

  • Who'll VICAR?! MY BIG BUTTY YA!

  • always assumed it was just ooga booga

  • Boodabaga

  • when you lose him "CRASH YOU *BEEP*"

  • I remember as a kid I was just moving my tongue without vocalising any sounds when I tried to imitate him, so it's probably nothing that can be spelled out.

  • @MoogleBoss The spelling also depends on the language. "HOLBOGA" is based on Norwegian, and I'm sure you and other people would pronounce that word differenly. I say it with a so-called "thick L" that doesn't exist in a lot of languages.

  • @GarlandTheGreat

I just did it aloud and realised it is indeed vocalised, so forget what I said earlier. Kinda like the string of sounds you make when you gargle to clean your throat in the mornings. So whatever linguistic representation we find for it (no matter the language) would just be an onomatopoeia.

  • @GarlandTheGreat I thought "HOLABOGA" until today, but now I'm more for "HOLBOGA". That extra A might just be a vocal artifact, since it's hard not to pronounce "HOLBOGA" without it.

  • Burbaga!
