Knifes are based on slashing, Guns are based on precision and they work MUCH better because they run at a huge distance, In a comparison situation versus a real human in which you had to kill him(which you've never been in) it would take 50 times more effort with a knife to deal a fatal blow than with a gun. If someone used a sawn-off shotgun on you running with a knife the resulting force and penetration would easily incapacitate you, not to mention your knife is easy as hell to drop and WOULD.

Yeah, this guy is sort of funny either on purpose or not, but this is a valid video for showing the 21 foot rule, which is a real problem for police in many ways. I think it can easily be defeated by a person in training or on the range in a simulation, but in reality when someone charges you with a bladed weapon from 21 feet it might turn out differen than one might think. Reality is always more problematic then your ideal thoughts of what your response will be.
