  • it pisses me off that they have to ruin the engine by putting ditch lights on it... did the original have them? nope... i mean its in a museum now, it doesnt have to have the ditch/cab combo for safety like the bnsf does.... at least the paints been re-done well. great catch!

  • @TRAVAM91 It does have to have them if you want to operate the locomotive over a grade crossing at more than 20 MPH, however the GN 400's are removable for photo shoots, to bring her closer to that as built look.... beautiful locomotive it is.

  • Great Video I Started for Great Northern at the Dale Street Shop St Paul. Nov 25 1968 to April 23 2010 Retired Bob almost 42 Years, that Video Brings Back Memories.

  • WOW!!! AWESOME!!! Tune up that EMD 20-645E3!!!

  • GREAT video!!

That reminds me of seeing the SP SD 45s on Donner Pass and elsewhere !!

  • I think the engineer, Ron Erickson, told me it was a Leslie S3-L and it is not the orignal horn, but close.

  • Sounds more like a S3K....GN had LOTS of em...not sure about the 400, but it makes sense...

  • just blow that S3K a little longer then it will sound like a BN horn

  • What kind of horn was that? Great Video!!!
