  • God bless you have a nice cows we can lern about cows from people like you i am trying to start a smallhobby farm can you give me some advice? thank you.

  • my stepdad's cattle call out every morning for him to come feed them-and he does feed them early morning and later in evening and they have plenty of hay and grass also-and new calves are born every now and again and more food is needed-ha! I love to see those little calves playing -jumpingh and springing around like little deer-ha! cute as can be

  • Thanks for giving us a better inside of your life as a farmer. Farmers like you, deserve a whole lot of recognition for taking such good care of the animals. I love cows. They are such unique animals. May you and your farm stay blessed.

  • the untold story of milk by ron schmid, good reading

  • Really enjoyed your film, thank you for the fascinating insight on farming life

  • the problem is that by raising cows we had to cut down forest, meat is a very luxurious meal so lets less but with the best quality!

  • But grasslands sequester carbon just as forests do. In fact equal or better. And if that beef is grassfed, that is food from grass which humans and other non ruminant animals can not utlilize.

  • (TYPO: I meant lets have less meat but with the best quality)

That's a good point, but what about bio-diversity lost due to deforestation? that's another issue.

I think there is always room for continuous improvement, Polyface farm and others are doing a great job and I'm sure they have the ability to do even better, any ideas?

  • According to Joel Salatin cattle production accounts for 70% of the use of grain raised in America, and cows were not designed to eat grain. As you know there is far more land used in grain production with far greater impacts on the environment than grass fed beef. I like Joel's idea of having every area of his pasture within 200 meters of natural forest.

  • That was very nice. Thanks for posting this video.

  • Are angus or hereford or herford/angus very vocal? or is it just these cows?

  • All cows would be vocal in this situation. They were hungrey for new grass.
