Letting your car run low on oil will damage your engine. Er yeah everyone knows that don't they? I'm affraid some people don't realise the importance of oil or even the type they should use and just throw in any old rubbish, mainly because the one they see is cheaper. I worked in a petrol station many years ago and that was an eye opener. Someone put two-stroke oil in his Porsche and someone else put EP90 gear oil in her two-stroke scooter.
It had 60k miles not 43k lol :)
