iv had mine for just over a year, its a good laptop and all of the games iv played is had absolutly no problems, iv played wow on it, usually in normal to high graphics , but just receltly after about 14months of purchasing it it had started to overheat whilst playing a game called runescape, i will very soon phone up dell support and they should solve it .

I can run medieval ii total war with full graphics without any lag at all...

I dont think that i could do crysis(of course) but i bet i can play almost any games without lag.

I have this laptop & personally I would not recommend it for gaming. I used to use this for playing WoW and it really lowered my enjoyment of the game. With minimum settings it had very low frame rates, for example in OS25 I had 6fps . It suffers from sever overheating problems and even with a heatsink it shut itself down very often. Also the connectors on the side get very hot that it's enough to burn you. 2 of my friends also have this laptop and have suffered the same fate.

I have the 1530 and I can play Crysis at a decent framerate on low settings, the scenery is so stunning anyway you don't need to crank it up to the hiighest settings to enjoy it. The only problem is that the cooler intake is on the underside of the laptop, and if airflow is restricted the computer can overheat. I use a laptop cooler to raise it up and blow cool air underneath.

I hope a refresh is coming soon, some of their lower-end laptops have newer tech in them. Time to move to DDR3, current gen graphics cards, and newer processors, Dell! And a chicklet style keyboard like the Studio XPS laptops have would be nice. And an LED backlight.

yo i got this one but the 256 mb Nvidia 8600 GT 8 gb RAM INtel Core 2 Duo 8300, 500 g hard drive and the LED LCD screen, one word AMAZING i love it, with the new drivers i can run RED ALert 3 one all high with some ultra high perfectly. THis computer is awesome, and make sure you take the plastic cover the touch screen, took me a week to figure that shit out.

the fingerprint reader is sick, but you have to get used to it, wipe your finger slow, and then bend your arm up so it can see the top of your finger, it can be very hadr to get used to

There is no 17" replacement. The M1330, M1530 and M1630 are all the same with different screen sizes

There is no M1630. There is the M1730. The m1730 is way different than the 1330 and 1530. m173O can be customized with better parts and it is quite thick and heavy but is a good gaming laptop.

i have 1710 and i run World of Warcraft with max settings. You get 30fps with no problem. But i would get something bigger than 1530. I recommend 1710 if you like gaming and stuff.

Depends what you want it for-if it is a desktop replacement, so you will mostly be using it around home, just get the 6-cell. If it is for business or you will be taking it places with you to use alot, get the 9-cell for longer battery life. As fo the colours, just look it up on the Dell website, and see what you prefer.

the alienware m15x (which I have) is not as good as the m1530, the screen is incredibly flimsy and it has other problems with its hardware....it is powerful, but for 400 dollars less you can get the m1530 with better stuff and reliability.....im getting one of the m1530 laptops to replace my m15x.....hope this was helpful
