Local Chicago schoolyard fastpitch baseball played with a rubber ball thrown against the wall of the school with a strikeout box painted on the wall. The ball starts off hard & smooth looking. After an inning or so the ball resembles and feels like a soft "sponge."

spongeball is rubber baseball you buy from a bodega 7-11 etc. we call this sponge ball in nyc
