On bloody sunday I believe the british soldiers acted correctly based on the information they had. They were told there was ira in the crowd to ambush the police. so when it all kicked off what would anyone do (defend yourselves obviously). I know for a fact at least one of those killed was a member of fianne eirin so much for peaceful protesters.
The british army did a great job in northern ireland I wish they were still here ,but hay I wouldnt want to be in their possition again.

I know a lot of people who blame the tragic events of bloody sunday on the soldiers who were there. Yes, a soldier has to make decisions up on their feet and sometimes the wrong ones are made. However, in my opinion, they cannot be held solely to blame. Their commanders made ill-informed, bad decisions that day and should of been held for it. Instead, the officers were commemorated and the soldiers face the anger of the people.
