  • Don't pay any attention to these stupid people talking about that like it's shit, its awesome

  • possibly the nerdiest thing ive ever seen...........huge props

  • its a p-nes

  • I HAVE THE SAME CONTROLLER!!! i bought it at the pawn shop because i got my nes from a friend that he never used but it had no controllers only a zapper. i thought it was funny to play with the turbo buttons

  • Look like a bulkier version of a Game boy but its cool i guess...

  • OMG! An original Gameboy with Color!

  • Bring that to an airport. I DARE YOU!

  • Wow, that looks very simple and fat, but still awsome!

  • big tetris)

  • Looks like a giant gameboy...

  • I like that design! if I ever make a nes portable I'll do it like your's

  • i wonder how you make it work with the lcd screen since the nes was only made for those old tv,s

note when i connect my nes to a porteble or hd lcd screen i got manny issues.

  • NTSC or PAL? My PAL Version (Germany) uses 9V AC. Ur mashine lookes like it use batteries. how did u build the ac to DC converter?????

  • Mine is NTSC...and the NES, despite having an AC adapter, runs on DC just fine.

  • Mario?

  • +7 to charisma for this epic geek gear

  • thats really cool

  • thats what a gameboy would look like during stage 4 of super mario 3

  • i think you would be arrested using that in public. no offence

  • FUUCCCKKKKK!!!!

    I WANT IT :D

  • meh too

  • SWEEET!

  • i wouldnt pull that out in public

  • VERY COOL!!! the best Nes Mod that i seen.

  • nice choice to use the turbo controller

  • wow that is really nice

  • very cool, keep up the good mod...(what a bad joke)

  • could u buy this somewhere

  • It's a gameboy on steroids!!! Awesome!!

  • hahaha :P

This is an awesome portable system:)

    i would give you 5 stars :)

  • Thats...is AMAZING! dude where can i learn to make that? I have a NES and prolly everything i would need at my house

  • Interesting! I don't know. It's great, though! Congrats!

  • So nerdy it MHz.

  • i'm very interested in learning how to make things like this

i wanna put my mp3 into a nes controller or an old gameboy

any sites that might have tutorials on how to do this?

    very nicely done

  • DUCK.....HUNT.....PORTABLE...

  • That would rule, except, the light gun does not work on LCDs. You *must* have a CRT. Not sure about plasmas.

  • O I see. But it would be cool if it did. Very nice project. Very clean.

  • @FastMHz Yeah doesn't work with plasma I tried and no help at all :/

  • That brick kicks ass!

  • DAMN! lol

  • Amazing!

I think the people should create a Super Nintendo/NES portable from the Super Nintendo Dual pack(or whatever is called).

    Amazing, is great

  • sumone just needs to make a portable device that can run emulators and has tons of memory so you cood have all ur fav games handheld. i wood make one but i dont know how to do that shit

  • lol damn you macguyver

  • GOD DAMN That thing is huge! That is pretty cool, why not make a portable super nintendo?

  • Couldn't you make a smaller one with the NES-2 released in 1993?

  • Yes, I probably could except the NES-2 isn't quite the same, even the sound is different. So for the same reason I didn't use a NOAC, I used an 80's NES, for authenticity.

  • @captainobvious81 no one would ever dare to chop one up

  • Thats amazing! Good job! Portable NES > Nintendo DS

  • Dude, you show that to nintendo, they make more copies then out of the blue, you're damn rich!! awesome job

  • i wish i had one

  • that is so cool!

  • Wow!

Does it run every nes and famicon games?

  • Yes, because it's a real 80's NES...plug any real NES cartridge into the back and you can play it.

  • Great Job dude. What I like about this one is that the game doesn't atick out 3 inches outa the top. I'm having someone send me one like yours, but it's the size of a Gameboy original. I think he used a Nintendo on a chip since its got games built in.

  • That's awesome dude, job well done ^^.

  • the nes colors has to be converted and improved into rgb to fit on the lcd screen.

    just awesome work!!!!!!!!!!!

  • omg can u make me one

  • i respect you

  • now you have a true porteble nes cuzz the b&w gameboy suffers in graphics&sound in comparision with the nes.

also the nes 1 mhz proccesor runs much faster than in average the 4 mhz proccesor gameboy cuzz it has more work ram.

    just awesome!!!!!

  • looks like a big gameboy

  • NOW IN TECHNICOLOUR!!! lol this is actually pretty cool

  • dude thats just like a gameboy

  • like a huge ass gameboy which plays awesome games

  • looks like the worlds biggest gameboy. LOL Nah, nice job man... think im going to buy a cheap IPAQ pocket pc off ebay and install a SNES emulator.

  • That. Is. Awesome. I have three NES systems at home, I am totally going to try this with one of them.

  • nice man +geek cred from me

  • It may not be practical compared to today's handhelds, but I do love the classic gameboy looks you have given it!

  • Awesome job, but I'd say it's more of a "luggable" NES, lol

  • so did you use a nes-on-a chip to have the ROMS built in?

  • Nope, this is a genuine 1980's NES motherboard I put in there

  • than how are you loading the games?

  • With the cart...

  • that's insane dude! nice work

  • awesome

send this vid to nintendo or something

  • Sweet!

  • nice job

  • great :-D

  • So THIS is a handheld... Nice job:-)

  • SELL IT TO ME DAMNIT

  • sell it.

  • NICE!

  • I want one, how much for one :)

  • ur hand must hurt after playin that for hours

  • i fuckin hate you sell me oneeeee

  • One word: GREAT!

  • ill:D

  • make more and sell em

  • I wouldn't sai I invented it, I just re-packaged a good 'ol NES into a portable device. Others have done the same but in different ways.

  • That looks brilliant. Did you invent it?

by the way i'll try to make one of those.

  • U have these for sale? i would buy one if u built it.

  • Dude Kick Ass!!!!

  • That's awesome

  • a big color gameboy gooooood job

  • Good job!

  • that is freaking awesome. I especially like how you have an original controller as the "portable"'s controller. For those less adventurous, here are NES "handhelds" via GBA, DS, and GP2X in a split screen head to head video to see the weakness / strengths.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FudRkevL1wk

  • WOW that was amazing your awsome great video.

  • Excellent work! Do you have build details posted anywhere?

  • Yes, go to FastMHz.com, click Projects, and then scroll to Portable 8-bit NES. I have some additional pictures and description of what I did to build it.
