It makes me miss him terribly, but I'm glad to know what it looks like, especially now that I'm a ballroom dancer... =)

  • I was stationed at Ft. Polk, LA back in the 90's. The culture down there is like none other. Spent many weekends in Lafayette. Acadiana forever.

  • I saw Boozo Chavis here in Toronto about 18 years ago. He was my introduction to Zydeco and just blew me away. The whole audience was on their feet for the entire show. Now if I only knew how to dance like these cats. I can't imagine the joy.

  • This vid never fails to make me grin real big. I miss Lafayette.

  • I kept expecting the kool aid man to bust through the wall and it be a kool aid commercial. Or macho man/slim jim.

ça donne envie de danser !!!

    ...à Lafayette !!!

  • great video:)

  • really great dancing and the late great boozoo chavis singing in the background, just awesome

  • yEA yU rIGHT ShAE' i need to correct the above "Truly1083" being Cajun is as much about the area you were raised as your state of mind. You can be a Creole and also be a Cajun. Being a Cajun has no relation to your nationality.Creole's are southern Louisiana natives that also happen to be of African origin. Thus the two awesome dancers here might be both Cajun and Creole. Nice work, thanks

  • they do not look creole, you dont have to be creole to zydeco.

  • boozoo is the best !

    yeah! you're right !

  • I am having a rough day today. Your dance lifted my spirit. Thank you.

  • You are SOOOOO good. It's great to dance in the kitchen but when you dance that well, you've gotta let people see it....hey,I guess that's what you did here on youtube.

I'm in upstate NY and hope to get down to your country someday and get to watch and here this wonderfully happy music. God bless you both

  • You two need to go to Mulate's in New Orleans and dance. You are two talented people! I can zydeco but not that fast. And this is Boozo at his greatest. That whole Who Stole my Monkey? album is amazing in itself.

  • I love this shit ! Proves that black culture is not just mono-culture i.e. rap. This is a million times better !

  • @JSavic Your not from Louisiana are you? well anyway this is white and black culture cajun and creole aswell but you have a point i love this culture nothing prettier then hearing a black man speak some cajun french au revoir ami

  • Very nice! Reminds me of when I was younger, dancing with my koozan(not sure about spelling),with my Momo critiquing us. Excellent vid, way to keep the culture alive!!!

  • this is really cool

  • Great dancers! You guys are awesome!

  • This is simply beautiful -- you to make a great dance pair. Never forget dancing in the kitchen!

  • These guys are really great zydeco dancers,

love the way they keep their balance together,

    really great footwork

  • Let's go to Lafayette

to change your name (get married)

from madame cannille (sly one) to Madame Comeaux (the person in the song story's name)

It's like that my little girl

(garbled)It's like that my good friend (neg used as a term of endearment)

In the other version, criminelle is a term used in the sense of 'you stole my heart'

    simple little story hé

  • nice- thanks (english dancer)

  • look at you two wearing down that nice new flooring!...well done to you both!

  • awesome dancing! slightly different from cajun 2 steppin' but you guys look great! gotta love boozoo! i show everyone this clip, hah!

keep it up! great stress reliever : )

  • Wow, I love it, great dancing!

  • You guys are awesome. I never heard Boozoo's version of this song. Really great. I love how such a sad, beautiful song can be danceable. It makes me want to go to Louisiana!

  • this is really cool

  • that's my favorite song of his (not sure what its about). never seen dancing to it before, but that was the coolest thing I've seen....someone teach me!!!!

  • A-EEE!!! c'est bon! LOVE IT!

  • In some other version we have :

    P'tit' fille t'es trop mignonne

Lil' girl you're way too cute

    Pour faire ta criminelle

To act as a criminal (i.e.: to rebuke me)

    Viens-donc changer ton nom

    Come change your name

    Allons à Lafayette

    Let's go to Lafayette

  • Do that again. But this time slower so that I can copy your moves, lol. Love it!

  • that was tight

  • you two were great! go boozoo!

  • I'm a coonass; let me tell you, I LOVED IT! You two are great dancers........

  • Beautiful! Thanks for sharing.. from Acadian of the North (Canada).

  • Awesome, cheres!! Vive Boozoo!

  • Bravo les enfants (in french, well done kids) I can barely understand what boozoo chavis sings, but I know that tune was the first ever recorded cajun song. Goan cajuns !

  • Boozoo is actually Creole, not Cajun. They're similar, but most blacks from that region of Louisianna are Creoles. I have a lot of family there and they don't like being called Cajuns lol!

  • I was born in Michigan and i have a Cajun name. Someone explain that one to me. Maybe i'm Acadian.

  • well....

This boy bee was buzzing around one day & he saw this cute little bird just fluttering around the yard one day &..

  • reminds me of country line dancing
