  • my problem is i give my car not enough gas. i get to that spot till the car starts rolling then i give the car a little gasand let go of the clutch and it stalls

  • @miniBEAST239 its cuz ur not supposed to let go of clutch so fast. ur supposed to ease out of the secret spot. Let me know if u need any more tips

  • That doesn't work in every car!

  • @OoZeROEpiCBruTaloO k, well which ones dont?

  • the secret spot is called the friction zone... holy fuck

  • @PoppinMollyCyrus why does that bother u? its just a nickname i gave it. Thanks for watching video.

  • what i mainly have trouble with is first gear with the whole 2000 rpms and all that mumbo jumbo. i would get it to 2000 rpms and let my foot of the clutch and add my foot on the gas but i usually do the bucking bronko. any tips????

  • @TaylorGangorDie01 ur not supposed to let go of the clutch all the way... The purpose is to use the least amount of gas possible to get out of first. 2000rpms is too much gas...Put ur clutch into secret spot then slowly get out of secret spot while u apply a little bit of gas. Ur car will actually roll without applying gas, so practice that first.

  • @ka24detpower Will the car still roll without applying gas if it's an uphill drive?

  • @CharlieAlpha08 uphills require gas. if you do not apply gas on uphill the car will turn off or roll back. i made an uphill video, u should check it out.

  • when you say "the spot" is the the point where it starts moving without pressing the gas, and just releasing the clutch a bit?

  • @ThatFoolChrisDailey yes, you are correct.

  • i use this trick to get out of my girlfriends house late in the midnight so i wont wake up the neighbors with my mustang 5.0, trust me it is worth learning this ,it would be needed in some parts of your life . specially if your car is too loud

  • This is how I learned. It's probably the best way to start out because you can easily tell exactly where the biting point is on your car. The only downside is that it takes a few seconds longer to get moving from a stop and cars behind you tend to get pissed.

  • @serialclone yup, its best to practice this method a lot before going on the road.

  • Thanks so much this is the first video ive seen that has helped me out i am doing my driving test tomorrow but i still cant find that spot because my driving instructor got a new car so i dont no if im ready yet but tomorrow im practicing thanks

  • @CoNNoRCfC22 yw, once u find that spot on the car practice it a bunch and after a while ur leg/foot gets used to going to that spot instantly. have fun.

  • i drove a mustang yesterday n i swear that car was the hardest i ever drove.other cars i usually get off the clutch a little quicker.wen going thru 2,3,4,5. but this fucker would still jerk as if i was starting in first.i pulled over about a mile later n told my cuz u know wat i dont like ur car n let him drive lol

  • @d0750588 mustang clutches are pretty hard, but dont feel bad, i still make it jump sometimes too. I think the car jerks cuz of gas pedal is sensitive too.

  • do you need to do that for the other gears?

  • @th4r0k30 no just to get the car going.

  • your fucking camera is appearing too black bitch.

  • autozone rewards card on your keyring? same here

  • @zombie13333 lol yea, 20 bucks helps a lot.

  • @ka24detpower Yeah. Turns out my car got broken into and someone tried to steal it lol... Too many killswitches to count. GL. And I got a citation for parking in private property, at my apartments! WTF!

  • @zombie13333 that sucks.

  • @ka24detpower- lmao slow ...a stock car thats get from 0-60 in 4 seconds and does a quarter in 12 flat yeah you dont know shit about corvettes you fucking faggot!!!!! and ive driven stick all my life!!!!! all my cars were manual!!!!

  • @zyroxter69 u think 12 is fast? thats funny. So when do u think u'll make a better video teaching how to drive manual transmission? id really like to see u explain it... I saw your video, u shift slow and don't know how to take off, LOL

  • Does this burn the clutch?

  • @playlist490 no, burning the clutch is when you give too much gas and you are barely moving. If u just use the clutch like this just to practice, its safe for car.

  • lmao ppl dont know how to drive manuals hahaha XD!! and this guy is not "showing/teaching" you the right way!!

  • @zyroxter69 Id like to see you make a video teaching ppl how to drive a manual transmission... But let me guess... Your probably not smart enough to make a tutorial video, lol. Go drive your slow z06.

  • Thank man I found this really helpful and I have my driving test in 2 weeks, I can do everything else fine except take off but after this video I found it so much easier.

  • @Th3RussBus glad i could help, practice makes perfect.

  • so cars are like women

  • @116graceandglory LOL, sorta.

  • good video i found that spot but what do u do once youre on that spot where it rolls without the gas?

  • @anthonyjriz3 when ur in that spot and car rolls, then u give it a lil gas and slowly release clutch from that spot.

  • @ka24detpower sweet thanks a lot man

  • @anthonyjriz3 ur welcome.

  • 1st gear is what makes me still drive an automatic lol, I can get through any other gear easy

  • @poncekid56 now that u know about that spot u should try it out.

  • aye man thanks.. getting out of 1st gear was kicking my ass.

  • @iiBRINGIT glad I could help, practice makes perfect.

  • also just adding on to what this guy said, finding the clutch spot as he called it or friction point which i call it is simple, when your clutch is all the way in, very slowly bring the clutch out and as you bring it out you will reach a point where the car sort of 'shudders'/'shakes' and begins to roll forward (when not on an incline) when you are at that point that is the friction point.

  • Thank you so much! I have been struggling with this!

  • @worldofjunimoon glad i could help.

  • nice video thanks,, i hav a volks wagon cabrio nd im trying to get the hang of it.Itz my first car =)

  • wowowow thanks so much it all makes sense now

  • @RydropsU your welcome, have fun practicing. I still remember my legs used to shake while trying to learn LOL

  • @ka24detpower Damn I thought I was the only one. Hard to control the clutch when your leg is shaking all over the place. Cool video, ill try this out once my VW is ready to roll =)

  • @Limpedalong nah i think its normal, but don't worry after you get good at it ur leg wont shake any more.

  • do you leave it in that spot then accelerate and take it off slowly?

  • @ramos73737 that is correct. The car will jump if u let go too fast. I have more videos, u should check them out.

  • @ka24detpower thank you:)

  • @ramos73737 yw, have fun.

  • @ramos73737 always take the clutch out slowly otherwise your engine will cut off and you will stall cause there isnt enough power on the accelerator, the more power you put on the gas the quicker you can pull the clutch out

  • won't work on any type of incline, but decent tip anyway!! Tks!

  • @aenflex thanks for comment, this tip is more for a flat level surface. I made an uphill video too, check it out.

  • This is called the biting point. if you arent taught this by your instructor while learning to drive a manual, he/she shouldnt be allowed to teach.

  • @GeorgeHurst08 thats how i feel, thats y i made this vid. thanks for comment.

  • @GeorgeHurst08 friction point actually

  • @Storm7289 Theyre EXACTLY the same thing, except the term biting point is much more widely used.

  • haha 240sx :P

  • thank you! i will definitely try this tomorrow. ive stalled over ten times today because i do not properly know how to get my car going while in 1st

  • @silversnke04 ur welcome, have fun

  • doesn't this burn ur clutch pretty bad>? my friend does this when hes in traffic doesn't even use gas.

  • @Dulba nope. When you give it too much gas it burns your clutch. No gas, no burning of the clutch.

  • Another way is to start pressing the gas when the rev's start dropping..

  • @kichansilva yea, but, its better to keep eyes on the road

  • @ka24detpower when the revs start dropping you should be able to feel it/ hear it. for the most part.

  • That special spot you keep saying is called the friction zone

  • @mrkingluke91 thanks, i know that already, but it sounds cooler saying secret spot.

  • Oh yea say hey to your mom for me BITCH!!! haha!!!!

  • No I just wanted to tell you to suck a dick

  • thanks for the vid. but are you driving on bushes???

  • @AlexPeff lol, i was driving on the weeds that were on my front lawn.

  • @ka24detpower awesome xD haha

  • And for the guy below this comment suck a dick DUMBFUCK

  • @jumbojim61

Wow, thanks for your well thought out, intelligent, response to my post. You're probably one of those guys who looks at previous posts than says basically the exact same thing just to sound smart. Turned out bad this time, eh?

  • To all the people who try to be experts:

HE SHOWING PEOPLE HOW TO FIND THE FRICTION POINT YOU DUMBFUCKS.

I doubt he starts off like this regularly

  • @VeloxStang thankyou sir

  • Holding your clutch like that is kinda bad for it

  • @ka24detpower You don't have to, but it's a nice thing to know how to do...

  • You're just showing us how to take off without using the gas.

  • @Doozer8650 yes, u have to know how to do that to drive good

  • wHY DO YOU SKIP FIRST GEAR ANYWAY?? WHAT REASON???TOO MANY GEAR TO SHIFT???

  • @CharlieDoan Im not skipping first gear, im only showing people how use the first gear properly

  • THE SECRET IS: START IN SECOND GEAR ALL THE TIME IS BURN YOU CLUTCH FASTER THAN ANYBODY ELSE!

  • @CharlieDoan please dont post dumb comments, thanks.

  • that was nice info

  • @sandokhan22 thanks

  • this video helped me out a CRAP load, I'm only 17 and only had a year of an automatic car till it broke down, and a manual is the only other thing we got, but 1st gear has been getting me pretty bad so far, but thank you soo much for this tip man, I never would of thought of that

  • @lucky13ification glad i could help, enjoy.

  • @ka24detpower its called the friction point you retard, you probably know nothing about how a clutch works or how your car works at all

  • @Drotter37 Calm down little one...No one cares what its called, and fyi i do know. Quit getting excited over nothing.

  • i wouldnt recommend this to no one!!! this might be cool on a peice of shit 240sx but modern car clutches are expensive!! this video has a red flag all over it ......1st gear is just there to get you rollin after that its all about the rest of the gears!! and if you drive a 6-spd.....its exactly like over drive (O/D)

  • @zyroxter69 i bet u over rev ur car to move forward, lol. and its funny how u hate on 240's, i bet they beat u ALL day. This will not mess up ur clutch. If u THINK it does, i would like to see u explain y...

  • @hdinh2694- as soon as your car is rolling you should let off the clutch! if you stay on the clutch for too long you WILL burn your clutch which is very expensive!!

  • When the car starts to roll on its own. You add some gas. but when should u let off the clutch???thanks

  • @hdinh2694 correct, the spot is just so engages correctly then you add gas. you let off the clutch when you feel the car moving good, maybe about 2-5mph, you will feel it, just make sure you practice. cuz if you let the clutch go too fast it will jump like crazy. If you hold clutch too long it will burn clutch. Sooo around 2-5mph.

  • @hdinh2694 Once you learn the biting point of a car, it's so simple. Some cars wont need much clutch to get going, some need a little more. Just practice the mixture of letting off the clutch while giving it some gas. You may stall some and you may burn the clutch a little learning. Just don't get used to making the car jump while taking off or reving it up real high with clutch in to get going.

  • thanks for the heads up on secret !! i recently purchased a manual & i love it.

  • realy, as an European this makes ROFL :D damn....

  • @Kengurius2 sucks to be you. Nerds laugh at anything...

  • Is this a Nissan 240sx s13? and thanks for this secret lesson i hope i can do really well my first time on driving a stick car when i get my 5 speed honda accord my dad is goin to teach me in a couple of weeks cant wait!

  • @Daew0ns0ng yup an s13, this lesson should make u take off good. have fun

  • @RussMusiq1..there's a lot of good things about a manual tranny. Like what ka24detpower said, you could go faster and it's more fun. the reason you're able to "brake faster" is because you're able to slowdown even before you get to your stop. it's also less gas consumation so that's always a plus haha

  • I honestly do not get that whole manual tranny thing, i know it is a great anti-theft device but why not just regular tranny and do nothing but control a car and press on gas.

  • @RussMusiq1 Its simple really, You can go FASTER on a manual car than an automatic. You can also brake faster too, plus its more fun.

  • @ka24detpower that is so beyond WRONG. automatics might be heavier and you will have more drivetrain loss with one but people can never be as consistant as an automatic. stick is a lot more fun i agree but being faster is a common idea a lot of people have and it isnt right. good video btw

  • @ka24detpower most newer automatic transmissions are more efficient than manual transmissions and shift faster which didn't use to be the case in the early 90's

  • @gephross100 that may be true, but, theres no way an automatic will win in freeways or traffic.

  • @ka24detpower lol have you ever driven a standard transmission car in traffic?

  • @gephross100 yup, lol, i dont mind, its easier to accelerate faster tho. Automatics have trouble downshifting so it slows u down.

  • Hey you guys, the clutch needs to be in the correct spot! If you put it on the roof of the car it's not going to do much good. :P

  • really? people dont know about no-gas launches?

  • Asians are still better.

  • Oh my! Why is it always american's with how to videos on manual cars!...how that point with the clutch...its a biting point!....americans really cant drive can they :/

  • @StefanSturgess Americans can do everything better. Im just showing beginners how to drive. This video was not meant for people that already know how to drive, why would you even watch it if you already know how to drive a manual? maybe u need help with a manual? lol

  • @ka24detpower I drive stick im with you most americans cant drive its like they have to go and be a pest to people who actually have places to go and most of them cant keep their eyes off the phone either which means more accidents during rush hours Im telling you most people dont know how to drive

  • @ka24detpower I drive stick im with Stefan most americans cant drive its like they have to go and be a pest to people who actually have places to go and most of them cant keep their eyes off the phone either which means more accidents during rush hours Im telling you most people dont know how to drive

  • @ZomgitsKittyy I'm guessing since you felt the need to watch the video and comment that you also need help driving stick. If you want to come get a lesson I can teach you and show you how I'll blow whatever shit car you have out of the water with my wrx. So have fun being in denial about being able to drive since obviously you don't know crap

  • @ka24detpower "Americans can do everything better"

Except diet...You are the fattest cheeseburger scoffing country in existence, and a country with terrible plastic food no less.

Oh and your health system is the pits. No money = left for dead.

Not to mention the most corrupt government in existence, though they can be as the average US citizen has been so dumbed down by food additives they wouldn't know any better.

Whats with the BMW if Americans do all things better? Including cars?

  • @Seektruth1st American muscle is the best. and im healthy. and i eat healthy, just so u know.

  • @ka24detpower cool.story..allofit. coolstory

  • Comment removed

  • You leave out the part about taking your foot all the way off the clutch when you take off.

  • Only in America.

  • @slr003 i like how america attracts so many of u haters, lol. let me break it down for you so you can understand... This video is for beginners and not meant for ppl that already know how to drive a manual trans. So if you know how to drive stick shift u should have never looked at this video...But since you did look at the video im assuming you don't know how to drive, so its funny that you would post a comment like that.

  • im sick of europeans picking on americans for not knowing manual(stick shift) by the way from australia

  • Funny how in USA most cars are auto with the odd manual transmission one here and there and in UK most cars are manual with the odd auto transmission.

  • Does the clutch have to be in that spot as well if you want to shift to 2nd, 3rd, etc.? Second day trying to learn and I don't stall as much anymore but the car does get jumpy every time I change gears.

  • @DanielMakesYouLaugh Yup, i usually ease in 2nd gear with the spot so it wont jump(leave in spot for 1 second while touching gas a lil). but 3rd and up u can let the clutch go all the way.

  • ohter secret was u have to use no shoes lol i learned the secret like that haha

  • As an European this makes my laugh

  • @jumbinjumbin guess another european needs a lil help with getting out of first gear, lol. Thanks for watching. If u need any more help with first gear just feel free to ask.

  • @ka24detpower you got me wrong . i think its only in Usa its standard 2 not drive stick

  • @ka24detpower europeans gave you the car and engine asshole, so have some respect. BTW im american

  • @kalashnikov200 i dont respect ppl who type up dumb comments.

  • @ka24detpower what was dumb about my comment? and im not asking you to espect me, get your eyes checked or learn to read

  • @kalashnikov200 LOL, i was typing about the european comment u big dummy. Not urs...

  • @ka24detpower You were taking the piss because he was european, and actually europeans are better drivers than americans will ever be. Most cars in the u.s are auto anyway so people wont have a clue what to do with a manual and the pinnacle of motorsport (F1) is all european. Im asking you to show a little respect for the creators of the car.

  • @jumbinjumbin as an american it makes me luagh that you think your better then us

  • @silverstonedwolf1 ^^ no but you celery think you are better than us

  • @silverstonedwolf1 lol where not the ones with the accents that make you sound like an imature little bitch. btw you niggas cant fight for shit.

  • @jumbinjumbin

As an European? Go back to school buddy, your grammar makes me laugh.

  • @jumbinjumbin you need to stop looking in the mirror then.

  • @ka24detpower haha nice

  • @jumbinjumbin you probably really want to cry because you wish you were American

  • @danbrown565 Y i want to live in a country that dont help me if i am poor, and starts wars that are unnecessary or religion is a must y sure i want to be an american, why should i be free and have good health.?

  • burada sır falan yok yahu, yarım debriyaj ile gidiyor işte adam. baskı balatayı eline alacak sonra.

  • hey thanks for the help...first time driving stick today..dont stall anymore...n u help more than what my other cousin does..thanks man..

  • @07torolla glad i could help, have fun.

  • dude ive been teaching myself how to drive a standard trans. for a couple days now and i am perfect at starting in 1st gear because of you! god bless and thank you...any other tips for becoming smoother?

  • @boblig7 Practice will turn you into pro. If you start to move like 0 -5mph and let go of clutch too fast it will jump. What i do is after car starts moving i keep the clutch in spot until i feel car moving good then i release clutch. Glad i could help you, have fun.

  • ??? I dont understand what this video is for. Where is the secret.

Definition of secret: Something that only a few people know.

My english sucks, but if I am getting it right a stick shift is the oposide of an automatic (shift) car (here known as normal). Here teaches every instructor you on that kind of car. Even if some never get when or how to shift efficently. I usually reach my crusing speed in city after 10 sec. & I need less than 1s for change a gear

  • @HandsMueller Secret is that you have to get car into "sweet spot" for car to actually move, aka "friction point".

  • @ka24detpower Isn't that what EVERY person is taught on their first ever driving lesson? It's called the biting point by the way =P

  • @liamcollister i was never told, and im sure a lot of people were not taught. Not everyone is a good teacher, some people just yell out instructions. lol

  • nice video bro.. I'm new to stick and suck getting into first gear but i tried what u showed in your video and its helping.. any tips for hills tho?

  • @briankwest23 Best advice would be do not try up hills until your a pro. Just keep practicing till you get into that spot like in 1 second. Cuz uphills is the same thing as flat ground, but the only difference is that on uphills you have to get out of first really fast so you don't hit the car behind you. Just PRACTICE a lot.

  • @ka24detpower forsure but what sucks is where i work only way to get to my job is to go up hill there is no other way kinda sucks lol

  • @briankwest23 o that sucks. then you better practice today, lol. Practice going from stop to like 10mph, then stop again and just repeat that for a while and you will learn fast.
