A VOICE .... A GUITAR ..... A .DRUM...A BASS...DEFIDES.... MUSIC AND AGE... I FEEL THAT EVEN NOW 30YRS LATER .... TRUE IT LOST NOW... MEMORIES ARE STILL THERE AND WILL NEVER BE ......LOST
Not the last song,,, the Show must go on was the last...no video..but this is his goodbye..I throught the same thing until I researched it..Slightly mad was done before this but released later..oh yeah and don't forget Innudio..I think released before this,,might be wrong so correct me..
i absolutely love this song, when ive had a wee drinkie in me , and this comes on the tv, it makes me feel so sad, freddy looks so frail in the video, its such an emotional piece, because it was the last thing freddy did, such an amazing way tae say goodbye to all his loyal fans who loved him, freddy mercury, always the ultimate showman to the end.....
recently i visited freddys birthplace and home in zanzibar. a humble room above a parade of shops not far from the main harbour. the music he left us will last forever.
recently i visited freddys birthplace and home in zanzibar. a humble room above a parade of shops not far from the main harbour. the music he left us will last forever.
A truly wonderful song which always puts a lump in my throat when I listen to it. Saddening that Freddie is not here with us now, but his legacy is his music which we should all be grateful for. R.I.P Freddie, you were the ultimate showman!
This song is absolutely fantastic, a beautiful piece of music and one of the best way's of saying goodbye. I really wish we could bring Freddie Mercury back though! Music's no good without him. Queen will be forever great no matter what people think or say.
The greatest showman ever. So sad to see him looking so gaunt and thin in this video. There are rumours they filmed this in black and white so people wouldn't see how pale and ill he was.
According to the band, Freddie knew he hadn''t long to go when he recorded this and was in a lot pain through the recording of this video. What a showman that Freddie got through it - the ultimate showman - no-one like him in this day and age.
@HiGhDaRrEn this was filmed shortly b4 he died of aids it was his last video and he was well aware he had the disease i think u can hear it in his lyrics
I remember the first time I saw this video, I didn't even recognize Freddie. I thought, "Who the hell's this guy?"
Then I did some snooping around and learned that Freddie was so ill at the time, they filmed the video in black and white to hid the physical abrasions and whatnot. It broke my heart to learn that.
And to see him in a state of decay like this is so sad. I don't know how he managed to do the Slightly Mad video in this condition.
When Johny Cash did "Hurt", he did so while dieing, much like Freddy did when he made this. I think in both cases, it was how they felt in their life maybe. Queen has always been my all time favorite band.
Im only 17 years old but i love the old stuff and i love queen they are so good and i wish i could've seen freddie perform from what i seen on music videos and everything he seemed like a good performer/entertainer this song is so amazing but its sad seens its freddie mercury's last song and he looks so sick but he will live on through people's memories and his music that he left behind
I'm 19 & i think music of today is nothing compared to what it was back in the 50's 60's, 70's & 80's, artists these days are getting worse. Freddie was definatly one of a kind, his voice was just soul.
This song is so sad, especially as it was the last one he made. It's a very sad song. I wish I was old enough to have been born when Queen were around. (I'm 17),
Queen will live on for so many generations to come R.I.P Freddie x
I know exactly where I was when I heard the news he died on the radio. I was stunned, couldn't believe it. Just as I still can remember what I was doing when I heard John Lennon got shot in '80. The songs fom lotta Pop artists make up an essential part of the soundtrack of my life. Some songs from Queen surely are...(Love of my life, don't leave me) RIP
I cry every time I hear this...so many memories, from childhood, listening to Queen on the radio growing up, the shock of his passing....the man and the band are simply the best, RIP Freddie. :(
I always admired Freddies musical talent but his courage facing his illness and death were even more amazing to me. Kind of like John Wayne or those tuff old west guys.
Philly2002 That song was probabibly the hardest song for the whole of queen to play as by this time they all knew freddie didn't have long to live. All respect to Queen esp to freddie who sang like a God and now is with the angels with no pain. RIP. Freddie.....theres no words to describe you......miss u loads.
You're correct about this basically being Freddie's goodbye.
According to Brian May, the entire "Innuendo" album was recorded with the knowledge that Freddie didn't have much longer to live, and this was the end of the line for the band as we knew it.
i love this song reminds me of myself and wish i was a kid again and had all my family still alive mum dad brother etc but well all meet again and this song is brilliant
You and me both, I dont think Freddy's passsion will ever be matched. This track is like regression therapy, all the years of your own life just come flooding back.
Brian May wasn't available for the video shoot. If you watch the video you'll see that his scenes are separate from the other three with the exception of one bit at the end where they have cleverly dubbed him into the shot. Beautiful poignant song.
It's sad to see how ill he looks here =( but I admire him for his strength to make such a nice video even if he was dieing.
I grew up with Freddie and the other members of Queen and I will always listen to them. Their music should live on forever, the thoughts of Freddie should live on forever. In my eyes the greatest entertainer the world has known.
