  • these protesters are cowards!

  • @33guyfawkes And what are you? Some anti-Muslim crusader that thinks we should conquer other countries because they are Muslim? Join the military, you can kill as many Muslims as you want, whether they're civilians or legitimate targets, and you get labeled a hero. But since you're a chickenhawk that won't happen. According to you war is fine as long as you're not sent.....

  • you know i still find it funny when protests happen

  • Remember govt always revise down so much more than a million where their.

  • this is for all the hippies, if you want peace, expect War

  • @doonaman13 Why's that then? you think that really makes sense? Are you thinking that fighting makes peace?

  • @doonaman13 Why's that then? You really think fighting is the way to win peace? How does that follow?

  • @doonaman13 Ignorant fool. Our technology surpasses our philosophy thats the problem, that and apathetic people like yourself. And dont come back with the "War is in our nature" rhetoric, if it was then why do we need propaganda and conditioning to make it possible?

  • I have a great new video against the war. Its called Labour.

    Take a look. /watch?v=-qewTcQLT34

  • 200000 dead not tens of thousands breaks my heart everyday.Everybody is sum1s mum dad son daughter no matter what colour of skin theyve got.. Was is it worth it for the petroldolla? halliburton War is money simple as. God bless all that have lost their lives in this stupid war us soldiers uk soldiers and iraqis. Consipracy theories iraq afghanistan natural resources why didnt Mr.Mugabe suffer from regime change???

  • I'm just an A level student so forgive me if I'm wrong, but let me try to get this straight:

In February of 2003 1.2 million people marched on London against the prospect of war. A month later, the representatives of those people declared war on Iraq. This is surely concerning; how could a government justify committing its people to a war in the name of spreading democracy but not listen to its own protesting people?

    Anyone?

  • @FromRooToYou Polticains represent us? ha

  • @FromRooToYou Welcome to the Rat Race buddy.

  • @FromRooToYou A good question. I think everyone expected Blair to back down after the march. Instead, he prevaracated, regrouped, went for a second resolution, and then blamed the French. This came out again earlier this week in the chilcot inquiry. Amidst the confusion that ensured, Blair and Bush rushed to war. The country was gobsmacked... Are you too young to remember that terible night of "shock and awe"?

  • "our humanity is more powerful than all your weaponry" beautiful

i find it amazing though, all this people power and they still don't give a fuck what the people say.

  • I'm very proud to be in London at this time, walking in this wonderful march!

    Aline from Brazil.

  • This illustrates why democracy is horse shit! I lost faith in the freedome loving democratic 'west' at this time...saddam may have been a dictator who shed blood and was cruel in persuit of a stabile SECULAR iraq... the neocon war machine tore a hole in that and upset the balance in the middle east... stupid fecktards, even I saw that coming... and still no change, is our generation cursed or are we doing it wrong??

  • When you vote, put a big sign of peace and give your vote sheets =) If no one votes, who the government will represent ???

  • Great video!

  • Keep hope alive..why do I get the feeling we'll be on the streets again to try and stop them attacking Iran.

  • @Marksism123

I'd be surprised if it came to that, considering the utter disaster that Iraq was/is. If it did I agree with 'GroddGuerilla', placards and bongos are going to have to be ditched in favour of more serious methods. Politicians rely on people's 'peaceful protests' so that they can just be ignored.

  • Democracy is for government- not for normal civies like us :(

  • If you want real change you have to fight the government head-on. Protesting only shows them you're upset, smashing their fucking faces in with a rock shows them you mean fucking business.

I'm not suggesting complete anarchy in the streets, but stop thinking banging on drums and holding signs changes anything. If you want the government to work for you like they should then you have to make them scared.

  • Freedom this and freedom that ! 2 million people protesting and the government don't give a shit ! What a fucking corrupt world we are living in !!!!

  • Get a job and wash your hair. What does the campain for nuclear disarmament (CND) have to do with the war. Coalition forces did not use nuke against the terorists so keep your greasy noses out. Israel forever.

  • You people are all scum! They only way too stop the war would have been to riot and overthrow the government by a mass uprising! Because you people did not rise up and attack the UK government hundreds of thousands of Iraqis are now dead. Fuck you and all other so callled anti-war activists you are as much war criminals as Bush and Blair for not rioting in protest at the war.

  • @InternetUser1999 they doint their bit man. rioting would help i agree especially with like a million people doing it lol. i fink people should have went on a mass strike

  • Fuck you, The mass graves unearthed from that era of muslims by Saddam shows you muslims could not give a fuck along with the families of hundreds of thousands of missing Shia. No outrage about muslims getting shot in Iran? No, dickhead.

  • The unity between thousands of people in this video made me cry.

  • @Lilia1992 1.2million* :)

  • Apparently about 2 million people were on this march, this just goes to show that the government doesn't represent us at all

  • I live in America and when I see BBC news I realize what a Prison State I live in. Our media is nothing more than a corporate-owned propaganda arm for the military-war industry and their interests.

  • Everytime I see an american news channel its always very divided. The news casters always use their own personal opnions or reactionary manners of speaking.

  • Just proves how fake this all is. We are free? But obviously not free enough to decide our fate?

  • The anti war protests made me proud to be British. The government ignoring the people made me ashamed to be British.

  • this video literally made me cry. its so sad. our government doesnt listen to us. THAT isna democracy. we have no say in something as huge as a war.

  • americans are just blinded by their media. The reason for iraq was for the benefit of the american economy and the flow of oil into it. Bush is a thief and a murderer. They made saddam into an enemy.

  • I live in Nottingham and I remember being on the University Boulevard Park and there was a huge demo. It was literally weeks before the illegal war started. I think every major city in Britain stood up shoulder to shoulder that month. It's amazing what we can do when we work together.

  • february 15, 2003 should be a proud day for the british people. 2 million protestors is a testament to your convictions. i was in ny that day, the courts ruled here that we couldn't march. we could only stay in a contained area. they did a disservice to this country when they ruled against us.

  • You're a half wit.

Do you honestly believe the war was just? Yes Saddam was a genocidal maniac, however are you aware of how many innocent Iraqi men women and children were murdered by George Bush when American bombers blew baghdad to kingdom come on the first attack?

Are you also aware that when our troops and US troops leave Iraq there will be even more pissed off fanatics than before. The west wanted oil and nothing more.

Why no 'free' Tibet from China or Palestine from Isreal? No Oil maybe

  • 1.3 million murdered Iraqis later ... There was such hope on that day, but no sustained, forceful opposition in the ensuing months to try to stop the Americans. Seeing this now brings tears to my eyes.

  • shut up, you stupid narrow-minded discriminatory prick

    xlucyx

  • 1,5 million people!!!

  • i'd say it was more 2million +

    xlucyx

  • keep hope ALIVE!!!...that was amazing

  • i was there!! fecking amazing..

great vid, thanks for posting it. ive got some footage of that day ill try and dig it up.

im irish and i was on an erasmus at northumbria uni in Newcastle me and a friend got on a bus with loads of students we set out in the very early hours. it took hours to get to London after the march we were supposed to get the bus back but the energy was so amazing we didnt bother getting on the bus. we didnt know where we would stay but we knew we'd be ok. and we were.

  • fuck you!

    SMASH THE FASCISTS!

  • very inspiring however most of those socialist pricks are probably getting benefits

  • shut up and stop being so ignorant and narrow minded

    xlucyx

  • its all true. socialists are theiving bastards

  • hitler would be so proud of you

    xlucyx

  • Proof that true democracy is a pipe dream that will never work whilst egotistical career driven power trippers and their yes men minions are in control. Millions of people marching on the capital in protest and still we are ignored.

  • That was beautifull.

  • Beautifully put together! I was at the New York protest on February 15th and it was such an incredible feeling.

  • My proudest moment was being there. At least we tried...

  • it aint over 'till its over

  • You might not be so proud next time beardy weirdy steps on your tube with 3k's of semtex !!

  • well that's nice and prejudiced of you

    xlucyx

  • the guy called 'anytwat' is telling ME to grow up

    well that IS rich

    xlucyx

  • I was there

  • I was so proud to be there trying to stop that war.

  • still ashamed of myself for not being at the protest to this day i don't understand why i didn't go

  • Moving video. An amazing day, unfortunately they still didn't listen

  • Yeah..

  • What music is this? Its great!

  • "Journey to the Line" from 'The Thin Red Line' by Hans Zimmer

  • love the very end - "twat". sums it up better than the slo-mos i think. The problem with looking back like this is its just patting ourselves in the back a bit, now that its all gone even more horribly wrong than we thought back then. after all, Blair was reelected

  • it's good to see the determination of all those people

  • what a joke all those people and they did not storm no 10
