  • The conductor looks like he has horrible bad breath and un-cut smallpinga cheese!

  • @mrspatrickcampbell ---you know that's Penderecki, the composer, right?

  • queee tipaaaaaaaaaa

  • I saw her private performance in Vancouver perhaps in 2007.She played Shostakovich viola/piano concerto(can't remember the specifics) with such force yet grace. I wish I could live again that moment!

Anybody knows the specifics of her performance?

  • @michelsenpeter does Shostakovich have a Viola Concerto? i don't think so i think you the Sonata right?

  • me ennamore!! te amoooO!!!! I LOVE!!!! TABEA!

  • O que é isso!

    Bravo... Bravíssimo!!!!

  • Toca pra caramba, que isso!!!!!!!!

  • BRAVISSSIIIMAAAAAA......

  • bravisima!!!!!

  • favolosa!!

  • Coś pięknego !

  • Viola concerts are so Macabre and Sexy

    <3

    hahaha (:

  • ¡You're totally right! Jeje, can't imagine better words to describe them.

  • what the conductor?? huh ew

  • I was talking about viola concerts, not persons.

  • That's the composer! He's cool!

  • @xRaito09x HAHAHHAHAHHAHAAHAHA Brilliant!

  • @xRaito09x Sorry, I clicked "negative vote" inadvertently... : (

  • Yesterday, I saw her live!!! It was fantastic.

  • E aí Tabu!!! Cuméqui ta o Rio? Abraço,

    Rodrigo

  • For me, much better than Kashkashian's recording.

  • Best violist in the world.

  • Thanks so much for including this. What a remarkable performance! Zimmerman is such a charismatic performer. My impression is that Penderecki (the conductor) is restrictive in terms of how much the soloist is allowed to "bend time." Nevertheless, Zimmerman is able to convey a real feeling of spontaneity. I'd love to see a more recent performance by Zimmerman--sense that since she stopped playing with a shoulder rest, she's felt a lot more physically free and natural.

  • Penderecki' a lefty??

  • she was a pupil of my violin teacher :D

  • The only thing that can compare to this is Kim Kashkashian's recording. Phenomenal.

  • no wonder it sounds so good..he is conducting his own piece...most performances I hear of this piece are stoic and angular..lol

  • something about her and her playing that reminds of Anne Sophie Mutter?...sorry..very stark, arresting and modern tone?...

  • She sounds fantastic.

  • Her viola sounds like chocolate. hmmm. I'm in the mood for a cherry filled piece of chocolate.

    :-)

  • holy crap. i saw her in a master class and perform with roger beendict not to long ago. well im gona go cry now.

  • perfect!!!!

    :O!

  • damn, she's good.

  • the red is god of colors and tabea is colorsgood

  • Penderecki is fine, but Tabea is doublefine.

  • fantastic!!!

  • as good as she sounds, i kind of hate watching her.

  • To listen to any of Penderecki's compostitions and not to think of the shining is almost impossible I mean the soundtrack to that movie stands out more than anything besides Nicholson's epic performance and the amazing directorial effort that Kubrick put forth in this classic film Penderecki is my all time favorite composers his compositions are just so damn haunting it can fit into a lot horror movies of the past and some present day horror flicks.

  • Beautiful music and what a fantastic sound... 5 stars are too less to rate!

    Waiting for more Penderecki compositions...

  • Quelque chose d' indicible... Une grande beauté. Tabea est une artiste merveilleuse. Yes, I agree. Everything is perfect.

  • Perfect! Everything is Perfect.

  • Wielki Penderecki. Cieszy mnie wspaniała, domniemana przeze mnie akustyka. Kobieta gra naprawdę ponętnie. Estetyka wspaniale demoniczna. Genialna jak zwykle.

  • An excellent performance! I'm a violist & I know this piece, & her playing is top-rate. Her sound is beautiful & expressive, the articulation is precise, & the intonation is accurate-- admirable given this is a live performance of very difficult material. Her posture is weird, but who cares? Because of the inherent awkwardness of playing viola, many great players have unorthodox solutions to the technical challenges. What matters is the result-- & this is a truly great performance!

  • makes me want to work on my shifting. Abyss, if you are referring to her technique, I beg to disagree. playing a viola that is relatively large such as zimmermann, requires a tweak in "standard" technique.

  • She plays nicely, but her form is terrible.

  • her form?

sorry i'm afraid im not following you

  • Did you mean: his performance is terrible?

  • he means posture..

  • It's a she, and yes the posture. . .

  • Uhm I'm a girl

    Annnd yes, the posture.

  • lol sry

  • Really? terrible? well, lets see you post a video with better form and then I'll believe you. I think her form boarders on flawless and unless you can bring some proof to light that contradicts that, I would like to throughly beg to differ: )

  • Es impresionante de principio a fin!!! I love Tabea playing!!!

  • saw a thing about her in the strad a while back nice to see her play

  • Damn! This lady can play! She's actually my inspiration. She makes it look too easy.

  • is that penderecki himself conducting?

  • Yes, this is Penderecki himself conducting his work.

  • Fantastico!

  • I love this :D

  • I don't think, that is polish joke, because we haven't jokes, like that one.

    VERY Nice video

  • I love it ,love it.

Who made the polish jokes? Must be themselves...

  • Chen: Put the blame on Hollywood for the jokes.

  • 0K

  • Very nice playing. This piece feels like a mix of Bartok/Kurtag/Hindemith. Very interesting.

  • end of polish jokes.i guess that you can truthfully say that we can think outside the box.dziekuje bardzo.

  • Personally I don't think Zhislin plays it better, it's terribly scrappy. It's also quite emotionally dry. The piece itself seems to have developed a lot since then. Tabea Zimmerman's is astounding, but I prefer Kashkashian for sound an concept. Just my thoughts!

  • Gregori Zhislin plays this better.

  • I enjoyed

    thanks for posting

  • please, whoever has more videos from her, post them!!!!!!!!!!!

  • OMFG OMFG IT's ZIMMERMAN ON YOUTUBE, who needs bashmet when you have zimmy

  • She's amazing! I've never heard her before... Thanks for putting this here
