  • I.cryed wen he made it love u DONOVAN;)

  • I was at my uncle's house with him and my grandfather both watching the game with and and a few others. I know that doesn't sound very interesting, but if I can recall correctly, this was both of theirs first ever soccer game that they saw. I guess it was a good game to start with.

  • Donovan your awesome !!

  • Well, I was there watching every moment of every USA Game; bein 11 atm and traveling that much was ovrwlming at the time too! Watch every game you guys played in person and sadness came and went thruout each game; but this games was mostly sadness, saw the Dempsey opportunity, was denied; u stuck it in the back of the net and I scremed my head off after that for days; weeks; maybe months and some people looked at me funy; I jst went on bout my life and the scremin tears & I thout I <3 country!

  • Landon, I am 17 years old i have been watching you since u were 17 and this has to be the best moment in your career and I will always remember.

As for me i will always remember where i was when u scored that goal. I play tennis and I was playing a tournament in georgia where the temperature was about 150 degrees that day. I went to the hospital for dehydration/rhabdomylosis after my 3 and a half hour match that day. i was in the hospital with IV's and when u scored it was the greatest feeling

  • When they played the reactions from the people watching in the states, there was one from a sports bar in Seattle. I immediately called my brother who was in Seattle, and found out he had been down the street from the bar and had wondered what all the noise was from. That's still the best conversation I've ever had with my brother and I still think it's the coolest thing ever.

  • Donovan you're really adorable :-)

  • I'm 14 and this past summer was the greatest summer of my life. It seemed forever but I remember it allfrom Dempsy's goal against England (Which I watched with English friends...that was fun.) to the comeback against Slovenia. I watched the Algeria game with my dad. I didn't start to lose hope until extra time, but I had a feeling we would win. When the ball went in that was one of the greatest moments of my life. It was such a good experience that we are going to the next World Cup. Thank you!

  • i love you

  • I am 10 years old.You were awesome at the world cup. I love soccer and i know just about every soccer player. I can not wait tell the gold cup. I might get to go to one of are games. Anyway, about the world cup it was long gone but i am shocked how you brought us into the round of 16. We will win to Chile!!!!!!!!!!

  • I'm 10 years old, and even though the world cup is long gone, I still am shocked about the goal. I am also a huge soccer fan and i know so many players. We\USA did an awesome job at the world cup. I am so happy that Landon Donovan really elevated soccer in america. I am now watching the Barclays Premier League and i love seeing all my favorite US players. USA will win to Chile!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i was supposed to meet my family at my sisters high school for her graduation but decided to go to a sports bar with my friends to watch the game and when he scored i was on the phone apologizing to my mom for not going then donovan scored and i screamed and hung up.

  • @Buffalo4Ever78 great story haha

  • Best Games I've experienced. Loved every minute of it. The team never gave up. I scream my ass off. I took days off from work just to watch Team USA!

  • dude, i was on a cruise during this game and the world cup was being talked about by everyone on the boat. We were watching the game in the food area and when you scored, I thought th boat was gonna flip because everyone was screeming so loud.lol

  • I was at home getting ready for soccer practice. I knew we would eventually come through. Honestly, you were the only one that I knew could pull that goal off. You don't get as much credit as you should, but I put you in the same category as Ronaldinho, Villa, and other great players. I screamed my head off for a good 5 minutes. My sister was pissed because I woke her up....she needed to get over it. You inspired me and I hope I can make it to where you are someday

  • Me and my sister were watching the game in the outer banks north carolina. We were at a campground on the beach for our vacation. I watched the whole game screaming at the refs and worrying about the game.I never remember praying so hard over anything in my life. When Donovan scored we screamed until our lungs gave out.It was the happiest day of my life.

  • @littlered20101 lol i was at my beach house on Sunset Beach there about 45 mins south of Wilmington, and I ran outside with all my gear on and ran up and down the beach lol. I live in Charlotte.

  • my sister and I were watching the game and we watched how as Landon scored and as He ran to the corner side of the field a great deal of His teamates mount up on Landon and my sister shouted " MAN DOWN! MAN DOWN! your crushing the guy" lol Best and most intense game I seen from team USA

  • I'll never forget that moment. I was wiht my best friends at a restaurant/bar. we were the 4 out of 10 people that were there. We began crying when we realized we wouldn't make it anywhere this year. But when Donovan scored, my best friend Darren and I began jumping up and down, crying, and all of our friends hoped in. Everyone stared at us and laughed, but I will never forget that day. We ran into the streets singing, and I texted my dad right away who was working. Thank you Landon Donovan! USA

  • i like he says "from the US national team"; that's the way it works all over the world, you don't have to say "football national team", is understood football is the national sport!

    good Landon!

  • Where was I and how did I react to US goals (which were freakin amazing) well, o was at home screaming my head off and jumping around like a crazy person because I was so happy and excited. By the way, I was also REALLY inspired by the teams performance, as I am a young soccer player.

  • i am frm Ghana, and i think your performance was gr8t u put up a gr8t against the BLACK STARS. but it was not ur time 2 shine. but gr8t game i am 12 and i am a big fan.

  • landon rules

  • Ill always use this goal to inspire me to keep trying to get there one day ,and never give up. GO USA

  • I'm 12, and a huge soccer fan. I had high hopes coming into the game, but with each ticking second, It seemed that my hopes would be crushed. Then I got excited when Howard passed it to you, but when Dempsey was denied, an overwhelming sadness came over me. Then out of nowhere, like lightning, you struck the ball into the back of the net. I jumped up and down screaming, and continued for the next week. Thank you for inspiring me and the rest of the country.

  • I can honestly say as a 16 year old that i will always remember the goal against Algeria. Every time i see a replay i get chills and can and always will remember where i was and how i was reacting when Donovan scored the wining goal. My sister thought i was dying in the living room while i was screaming at the top of my lungs, but she doesn't understand how big that actually was after waiting that entire game scared that if we didn't score it was all over. Thank you for the memories. - Jeremy B

  • good job usa this goal won the winner's bracket or whatever it's called i forgot anyway it even beat akamatsu's catch at the in japan i was shocked when this won i thought akamatsu's catch would have won but great donovan and usa

  • dude i was watching the game throegh my teachers phone and wen u scored our school exploded u just hear woooooo yea thats right anf lots of chearing so thats wat i thought get baxck at me wiill yu thanx

  • Ever since I started watching USA soccer in 2006, Landon Donovan has always been my favorite player. I love USA Soccer and Landon Donovan. Sorry for writing so much, but USA soccer has just grown on me so much. I hope that I get to see you guys as the 2014 Fifa World Cup Champions. It is very possible now that you guys have us behind you all the way. Landon, I know you said that we would eventually win a world cup. Well that time is 2014. I know Brazil is tough, but you guys can do it.

  • The 2010 Fifa World Cup showed me how great and awesome soccer/football really is. Now I know why it is called "The Beautiful Game". I remember during the Algeria game, I was so frustrated and angry that I told myself that I was never going to watch soccer again. When stoppage time came, I lost all hope until I saw Landon score. I was so happy that I started hugging 10 random people at the same time. What made the moment more special was that my favorite player, Landon Donovan scored.

  • When Landon scored the winning goal against Algeria, it was the same day I graduated high school. Best day ever? I think so...

  • Home alone on the verge on crying stood up when USA was heading down the field as the ball went in the net I freaked out like never before got at least 8 phone calls of people screaming and yelling greatest day ever.

  • I was working at a golf course when the thunderstorms struck. I sped home in time to see the kick off. I watched it with my sis as the storm was raging outside. I couldn't help but take the weather as an ominous sign after Dempsey's goal was called back. Finally, "I think its on for the US here", my sis and I jumped up after the initial save and started screaming when Landon finished the rebound. Hugging eachother, wejumped around the room screaming. We were so crazy we missed the final whistle.

  • Our national team´s ride was LEGENDARY

    specially against Argelia and Slovenia

i hope we could be on the top next fifa world cup in brazil

  • Forza Italia :)

  • that was the moment the best moment, i have been waiting for that moment

  • I was by myself at the fanciest hotel in Varanasi, India because I knew I could count on their having electricity. It took a little cajoling, but I got the bartender to give me the remote. I sat glued to the TV. I was changing back and forth between that and the England game; i was flipping out - it was intense! and all the indian business men were having a good laugh at the american kid.

when donovan scored I went absolutely ballistic.

Best moment in US soccer history, I've since said.

  • This world cup was the USA revelation for me!In 2002 we've reached the quarter finals but the world couldn't wait this kind of performance from us!2010 is the revelation for USA!We saw a Great Michael Bradley who became the Very Important player in our team, donovan is an heroe(I cried when he scored against Algeria:UNBELIEVABLE!So much emotions!),Dempsey was a real revelation,Benny feilhaber is the second very Important player for USA.

    i'm definetely an USA fanatic!

  • So we went back to Buffalo Wild Wings for the Ghana game, and the bartender told our group that in his over 3 years of being a bartender there, that was the only crowd celebration that he will never forget.... We went INSANE

  • "Go Go USA!!!"

  • For me this quote from Yahoo! said it all: "What's not to love about a team that holds a lead for just two total minutes over three games and wins its World Cup group anyway?" What stands out the most to me is despite all the rough starts, controversy, and disallowed goals, we always came back despite being down. That is not something that can be said about teams of the past. Unlike the past, I always knew we would come back, and we did every time. Go Go USA!!!

  • i was watching the game on my laptop (on espn3) in the back of my summer calculus class, about to scream after every scoring chance the U.S. had.. after the goal i couldn't control myself and jumped out of my seat in celebration.. my professor wasn't much of a soccer fan but I still got an A, but more importantly the U.S. won.

  • I woke up went to my computer and went ESPN.com and watched the last half of the US vs Algeria game and then that goal happened it was like amazin'

  • I just sreamed like a mad guy :D

I will always support you boys !!

    Go USA USA USA !!!

  • I first was out side bringing my brother to his training

but it rained so i drove back as quik as i could

and as I turned on the game and there were only 15 minutes left I didnt sit still and as he scored I ran around like wild Screamed

PS: WE (USA) will win there first world cup latest 2022!!!

  • I was sitting on my couch in my #8 USMNT jersey when Howard threw the long ball. I immediately knew that this was the play to make or break it as the US charged forward. It was a blur from there, but when the ball went in I jumped up and broke into a run around my house, from room to room, cheering and yelling

As a fan of soccer since 1994, I can say that this goal was without a doubt the best sports moment I have ever experienced. It was amazing man. Cannot wait until 2014.

    BIG UP THE YANKS!

  • anybody know by when they want the videos?

  • USA USA USA...Can't wait to watch you all in 2014 Brazil... I hope that Donovan, Dempsey and Onyewu are 100%

We should have had Ghana! Great game though...

  • @raw1335 yea im hopeing the same. Hop alot new young players and giving them more playing time cuz they are the future us team.

  • It was great to see U.S.A. do so well in this World Cup. I've been living in Ireland for six years now and have listened to europeans dissing america for so long. This year you shut them up for good! Looking forward to the next World Cup!!!

  • I was actually suprised when USA made a goal in the last min

  • donavon is the usa pele no joke

  • that goal was one of the most exciting moments during the world cup. it will definitely be remembered for years to come.

  • This game was incredible i wanna be in this soccer team

  • HI Landon Donovan Im from Bosnia and u are among my favorite players but i a questions WHY FREDDY ADU ISNT IN THE LINEUP ?

  • i am fan of U.S Futboll team, your matches in the world cup were very intense, dramatic, you guys never gave up, wining your matches at last minute its heroic !!!!!!

  • i'll def watch the game between US and Brazil

  • I'm sure lots of US-Fans were so inspired during that match, a region that was never into soccer before as much as this World Cup. The players are being better and they are definitely getting more self-confidence. It's not just a matter of time that we will see USA win another World Cup. I'm saying that it's not too far that we will see them holding the World Cup-Trophy and celebrate.

2014 - Could be the day.

    Sweden speaking.

  • cool editing at the end guys! keep it up....

  • The 2010 World cup was a crazy thing for me, as a captain of all my soccer teams, the sport in general means so much to me. I always dreamed to play for a great club, i made teams but financial problems came in the way. I always dream of being a usa member. Anyways, I have watched every second of the usa national team since 00 , at the age of 5 and i was not giving up. I put usa to win my bracket. As soon as Landon scored, I went crazy yelling USA! USA! I hope team usa reads this and pm's me.USA

  • Best moment was the goal against Algeria in stoppage. Or maybe when /Robert Green spilled the ball.

  • "Record your memories and share them with the players by replying to this video." '...and then they will become our ptroprty and we'll use them free of charge in an ad campaign.' No. Do your own work.

  • Landon Donovan is a great player.

The USA team improvement in the last years is a good surprise. Can't wait to watch the game against Brasil.

    Cheers from Brasil.

  • Let's all help make the game cleaner. If they could only make video replays possible and the game less corrupt every nation will have a chance. Too bad the World Cup was FIXED :( :( :(

  • Stayed home from work to watch Algeria match.. the goal in the final minutes was the most incredible feat of soccer I've ever witnessed.. you guys never let down, took risks, and earned the most rewarding goal i've ever seen so far in my lifetime of supporting US Soccer! Thanks for the great effort!

P.S. Next time don't make it so exciting I nearly had a heart attack...lol

  • Now if we could only get the refs. to stop trying to steal the game from the USA everytime, we should then be ok.

  • i am trainning so hard to someday play for the usmnt, great job guys i am really proud of you and for this country! landon your the best!

  • you don't know how happy i was or how loud i yelled.

  • I was at home instead of being at work.....I was going in about 3 hours late when the game ended. I have had a lot of great sports moments in my life....game 7 of the world series, game 7 of the Cup finals, Super Bowls, etc. This game topped them all. Greatest sports moment of my lifetime. There is no way to re-create the emotion that goes into this goal. Between getting robbed two games in a row on bad calls to not being able to finish in this game. 4 minutes from being eliminated. Wow

  • To me all of Donovan's 3 goals in this world cup were awesome & very valuable. I became a fan of the US team & of Donovan in particular since the confederation cup in 2009. The goal against Algeria was what I'm looking for to tell people around me "The American team is better than the overrated English team. & Donovan is better than Beckham"

  • Lando's goal meant, to me, that the game finally--FINALLY--won the respect of sports fans and people in our country. Thanks for everything guys--I call the goal 11 seconds that changed the course of American soccer. For good!

  • A fantastic Play in and out of itself. Looking forward to the next world cup tournament, in where you bring the first world cup to the U.S.

  • I'm not American but Peruvian, maybe u can say: "what the heck u r posting here", let me say to u that American team's performance at World Cup 2010 in South Africa was much more than expected, and I'm pretty sure the American National team will be playing better and better. Indeed, it's rewarding to see many teams are improving, obviously your team among them. I apologize to u if u found some mistakes in my English, as u know in Peru, we speak Spanish.

  • I'm not an American, so I feel bad pointing this out but I mean no ill will, when Ghana scored it's goal and won the game against the US, I almost wanted to cry. Seeing all of Africa uniting like that behind one team was just beautiful.

  • When you scored it was as if time itself had frozen in time. Those who doubted our chances of victory instantly had a change of heart. It was then and there that they believed that we had a chance. A chance to move on no matter how much time passed or how many referees would hinder our progress. For me; it was a joy like non other. The United States did not win the World Cup, but we sure showed the world that we had what it took. 2014! I and all my country men await you!

  • when Donovan made that goal vs. Algeria, i slid across my front row and yelled my lungs out "YEAAAHHHHH".

  • I watched THE WHOLE GAME except for the about 2 min before the goal up to the goal itself!!! I went to take my dogs out because I was a nervous wreck and couldn't bear to watch you guys lose! So i'm in the other room and all of the sudden I hear screaming and as i walk back into my family room I see Landon Donovan on the bottom of a pile of crazy soccer players! Definantly a cool thing to see even though i missed the goal itself!

  • i wish that the Egyptian national team could have a rematch with the American soccer team

  • i remember cursing, but refused to give up hope, next thing you know our last chance appeared and the goal went in, started jumping like lunatics

  • I am not the biggest soccer fan but for some reason I enjoy watching every game the US team plays. I watched every second of the Algerian game and had so much hope that the US team would be successful in winning. I never gave up hope that they would score and when Landon Donovan scored I was ecstatic, as was everyone who was watching the game with me. After that game I can honestly say I am huge fan of soccer because and can not wait for the 2014 Fifa World Cup!

  • Eu gosto muito do futebol E.U!!!

    Torço muito por eles!!

  • Landon you are Captain America!

  • I was there in Pretoria for the match.....basically directly to the side of the Algeria goal and about 2/3 of the way up the lower level.

This was one of the best moments of my entire life. Absolutely incredible.

  • u showed that there's hope for US soccer... Way to go Landon!

  • As an official, I was disappointed at the number of outcome changing decisions. This goal was euphoric as the team would finally take their rightful place in the round of 16 - but later a hint of sadness set in, suspecting that having given at this physical and emotional level would drain the team of the sharpness needed to get into the next round. Bring on goal line technology and allow the 4th official to review play and adjust the score as needed! Then play is continuous but THEY GET IT RIGHT

  • You did average...

  • It was during my lunch break when the game was on. I'm in the military, and most guys in the military aren't too fond of soccer. Just about everyone there in the room thought soccer was for (sure you can guess what they said), but never had I seen grown men scream and shout than when Donovan scored against Algeria, or yell out "THAT'S BS!" when the ref took that goal from the other game. I use to be somewhat of a fan of the sport before, but that one moment brought it all back! GOAL, GOAL! USA!

  • I had my hands on my mouth and my stomach in knots standing in the section immediately behind the Algerian goal. I was hopeful that the added time would be enough to eek out a tight victory and not be sent home too early. When Landon Donovan scored, the stadium erupted and he slid toward our corner. I was in absolute euphoria. The goal meant that everything we worked for, players, fans, officials through AYSO, MLS, USL and the USSF was not for nothing. We made another big step in our progress.

  • The US team is exactly like its country, we don't fight back until the odds are against us. For some reason, we only truly become united and fight as one when the opposition becomes too great, and all hope seems to be lost. WE ARE THE BEST COUNTRY OUT THERE, but we still have room for improvement. We must learn to fight in unity whether we are oppressed or not. Whether we are winning or losing. My favorite goal was that of the last minute goal from Donovan, a true captain. Hope is never lost.

  • @dinmex86 We are the best. :)

  • @dinmex86 Agreed, they've made everyone in this country proud, even those that aren't total soccer fans. Sure they were the underdog, but that didn't stop them at all. Simply amazing, there is no word to describe how amazing that was.

  • after boasting for months how well we where gonna do, my stomach was in knots when i looked up at the scoreline in the 90th. numerous questions started racing through my head. i was in disbelief. then the scenario played out and as soon as demps' shot was saved and it sat there and landon ran from off the tv screen to the ball i knew it. i didnt even see it hit the back of the net before i was up screaming goal. i was teary-eyed when we jumped in the car and drove around town waving the flag

  • My girlfriend had heard me speak of the emotional matches and the heart of the US team, and how many heart attaches they (you) have given me, but she never experienced it, till that morning against Algeria! As the clock wound down and our hopes dwindled, we could feel the sadness sinking in. She kept checking the clock saying "there's still time babe.." as if to give a prayer, but it looked grim. And then it happened! And our prayer was answered !

  • AND ALL HELL BROKE LOSE! And as she stared at the screen with jaw dropped, i jumped through the roof! And through broken speech and holing back tears, we tried to figure out what happened! A week few weeks later when it was all said and done, i presented her with a gift... i said " you went for the ride!" "Your in the club!" "and living through that heart attack, you earned this!" and i handed her a US #10 Jersey.... You made a new life long fan.. Thank you for your heart boys... thank you..

  • The USA Algeria goal made me believe that anything is possible. It still gives me the chills every time I watch it!

  • algeria man, algeria. wow. please stay in the USA and in LA!!!!!!! WEEE NEEEEED YOOOOOOU!!!!!!!!!

  • My favourite Memory of the World Cup was Dempsey's goal vs England, because although I'm English I was cheering for America and after all the arrogant English build up to get back level for a point was great I just wish it had been the winner would have made my day lets go USA!!!!!

  • My wife and I were at all the USMNT games in South Africa. Was so much nicer results than 2006 in Germany. The goal vs. Algeria was elating. All the ogals were, from the tying goal vs. England to the ones in the Ghana match. We are already planning to watch the USMNT in 2014 in Brazil. Go USA!

  • I was there in South Africa for all the USA matches through the Round of 16. Of course, Landon's goal against Algeria was the most memorable! There was a collective "sigh of relief," which came out like pure pandemonium in the stands. My knee (recovering from surgery) was hurting me, and I could not jump up and down. So, I just held my arms straight up and screamed as loud as I could. I will never forget that night or the 3 weeks I spent in South Africa. Make us proud again in Brazil 2014!

  • I love the American team...always have. It makes me proud to see a team that has grown and matured and is playing at such high level. Good energy but can improve a whole lot more. We need more players like Donovan, but for that...in my humble opinion...we need to do what all the great teams do...hire a coach with international experience and one who has coached high caliber/world cup champions in the past. Soccer does look bright for the U.S. and I definitely want to see more of our team !!!

  • The Donovan goal for the qualification for the 16 round was amazing but i feel the goal against slovakia was also equally as emotional to me. The anger and determination that was placed on that strike by donovan was incredible. Seriously the goalie hid behind the post when that ball was coming towards him. Amazing!

  • USA deserved to advance to quarter finals not Ghana!!! but still USA made me proud

  • What a joke! The most memorable world cup? We had the weakest bracket so far and we barely made it out alive! The whole world cup we only scored five goals! And he acts like it's something.

  • @schwabbii1 we won our group thats not barely making it out and it woulda been easier if the refs didnt screw us at every turn

  • @schwabbii1 how many goals spain scored?? ( well spain is boring but that is not the point)...

it was memorable, i watched the games with some friends in a local mall. and the people was celebreting the goals of USA... in CHILE!

  • Jumped up and down celebrat'n 49ers winning TD in SB XXIII with only 35 sec left in the game... Incredible NBA endings... But the goal against Algeria topped them all. I couldn't believe that the USA's cup was coming to an end. I just kept believing that somehow the USA would get through to the next round (Slovenia could still tie UK) Time had run out and stoppage time had started. I kept think'n that if the US scored I'd go crazy w/joy never thought I start bawling. It was a GREAT moment for me!

  • very very proud !!

  • I was watching with USA fans in PUMA City in NYC's South Street Seaport. The entire game we were all on the edge of our seats, knowing the stakes. Also, we were watching outside, but inside the England-Slovenia game was playing, and they had scored, so the USA was in a bad position. Seeing that goal was INSANE! I thought tables were going to be knocked over because of how we jumped up! I don't watch baseball or american football, they're boring to me. Soccer is my passion, so this AMAZING for me

  • As a lifetime soccer fan & former player, you guys really made an impact here at home. It was nice to finally have people know what I was talking about when i mentioned the World Cup! I took time off from work & watched the game at home with my 4 dogs who were very concerned about me cause I was stressing out so badly the whole 2nd half. I was truly on the edge of my seat when the goal went in & crazy celebrating ensued with even more concern from my dogs who now thought I was completely insane!

  • Easily the most memorable moments for me included being at Ellis Park for the game against Slovenia and the unbelievable second half effort to tie the game. The second was being at the Durban Fan Fest for the Algeria game alongside my fellow Americans sporting our flags and standing still only to explode into a roar of euphoric feeling. The fact that we probably do not remember each other's names never takes away from one of the greatest moments of our lives.

    Thank you USMNT for everything

  • well the algeria goal was the best moment by far!!! but my other fav moment was when fifa said the usa v slovenia ref wasnt allowed to ref a game anymore for fifa. i thought tht was funny and awesome! :D USA!!

  • dam it i dont remenber this goal fudge but im gldad 2 be and american and 1 day we will have r cup

  • I LOVE YOU LANDON DONOVAN!!!!!!!!

YOU ARE MY HERO AND IDOL!!!!!!!

  • @gillygaby23 i agree (;

  • For me this World Cup was the vindication of years of faith and belief in you boys. I've been a fan of the national team since the '94 World Cup when we beat Colombia and played Brazil tough and proud. All around the world people were saying it was a fluke and this country would never succeed at the world stage.

But as they says around these parts: You never. Question. The heart of a champion. You boys fought like champions, and made old believers like me proud. Take it to the next level!

  • I was in Orlando, FL on business watching the match in my hotel room. When Landon Donovan scored I went ballistic in the room, jumping up and down yelling "USA! USA! USA!". I called my wife in tears and out of breath to tell her we won. I still get chills thinking about the match and what it's meant to the US. I'm 35 and have been watching soccer all my life. The US MNT's WC win against Algeira is by far the single most magical sports moment of my lifetime. Thank you US MNT! Go USA!

  • amen

  • I'm so proud of you, the U.S team, and the great country that we live in. It was an awsome goal, and an awsome series. I'm getting a new soccer jersey that has a #10 on the back!!!

  • taking 3 weeks off of work..( i wanted 4 weeks but they said hell no,,) and having to sit trough those games Slovenia and Algeria..almost getting a hart attack 2 times..was not cool guys..ok.AND letting in early goals MUST STOP. but i started to look on youtube.com for fan reactions..and saw some amazing videos..us soccer fans Rock. and that crying guy Triplett..i only wished we had beaten Ghana..but all in all we got out of the group..and the people loved out games..exciting stuff.

  • The moment when Landon D. scored that injured time last minute goal against Algeria was the revolutionary goal of American soccer history. It all started from Tim H. through Clint D. to Landon D. then tears of joy and smiles of happiness and screams of pride to the USMNT exploded throughout my entire school when the ball was inside Algeria's net. It was the last day of school and everyone was watching the game through the projectors inside the classrooms. I wished we had gone further.

  • The Donovan goal against Algeria was the most memorable. When it happened I started screaming and woke my sister up!!! I think with that goal more people in the US have realized how beautiful the game of soccer is and how great the World Cup is!!! Soccer is starting to become big in the US!!! Lets keep it growing!!! Countdown to Brazil 2014 Begins!!!

  • good game donovan

  • Gg Donovan

  • the goal against Algeria

and how Andres Cantor called that "GOL"

    I LOVE US SOCCER

  • One of the most emotional games I have ever seen. There couldn't have been more drama or more on the line when Donovan scored the goal. Incredible!!!

  • My family & I enjoyed all the excitement of this match from ESPN Zone in Anaheim. When Donovan scored that goal against Algeria the place was crazy, chairs were flipped over and people were jumping, waving US flags, and crying! An amazing experience that we will not forget! Go US 2014!

  • lgeria vs USA 2@ home. I honestly thought @ the 90 min it was over and was going to shut the tv off when i saw we had 4 mins to pull a miracle. something made me stay to watch and with hope barely shining in the distance i watched as howard hurled the ball to LD. As LD sprinted toward the box watching as the play unfolded i yelled in agony as dempsey was denied and the moment LD came up I jumped holding my breath and gave a primal yell as he slotted the ball home. I never cried from relief.

  • This year really is an explosion of soccer in the US. I just hope it keeps growing and someday soon the world cup comes to America.....*cough cough Louisiana cough cough*

  • cant wait to go support the usa aug 10th ! usa!

  • I have a torn ACL. When I saw Dempsy miss the perfect goal oppertunity and then kick away the rebound, I felt as if I was going to start crying. When regular time ended my heart started to pound like never before, when i saw Howard throw that ball all the way to mid field, i knew something was going to happen. When Dempsey missed my heart stopped. Then i saw our hero, Donovan, score it and win it. I stood up and jumped, and all of a sudden, could run around screaming in joy. US Soccer is AMAZIN

  • USA! We're going all the way. 2014 baby!

  • so beautiful, I still tear up when I watch the goal. I've watch all sports for a long time, and that moment was the most amazing of them all. Something so special about it!

Somehow I knew the US would score and they did!!!!!!!!! I think it tought me about never giving up and the power of taking the time to visualize positive things. I think I hear Donovon does visualizations and that goal has to be an incredible example of that. The goal against Slovenia was pretty dang sweet too :)

  • Definitely one of the best sports moments ever. When that goal was scored I think I was yelling for about 5 minutes straight. It still gives me chills every time I watch it.

  • I was working but went running through the work yelling.

Unfortunately I think I was the only person who cared at my work and I was not even born in the USA.

My friends and family back in Scotland all said the world cup would not have been as exciting if it was not for the USA.

For me personally I did not think I could feel so excited and proud of a team except Aberdeen my club team or Scotland my country of birth but you guys proved me wrong.

  • I have been a fan of the USMNT since 2002, when the US beat Mexico @ the WC in Japan/Korea. After that, I was hooked.

I watched the Algerian match and it really started to open up in the 82nd minute. When I saw Howard throw the ball out and Donovan running the ball across the midfield in the 92nd minute, I felt my heart starting to race. Pass to Jozy, then to Deuce across the box, the shot, the deflection off the goalie..........AS THE BALL DEFLECTED OFF THE GOALIE'S HANDS I SAID,"GGOOOAAALLL!"

  • Second only to Luis Gonzalez's game-winning hit in Game 7 of the 2001 World Series for me, but this moment was so much more special cuz my kids were old enough to experience this. The rush and excitement was unbelievable. I could not believe it!!

  • I am from Brazil and I was sad , to tell you the truth, its sad to see that a lot of people here in the US don't really care about soccer, they don't understand it, they don't play it and they don't watch it.. I hope it changes someday!

  • i thought the entire Algeria game was terrific being so wide open and pressure packed for USA advancing. The final sequence happened so fast and from no where that it will last with me for a long long time. Cant wait to go cheer the boys versus Brazil!!

  • The United States' playing in the World Cup 2010 (especially Landon's performance) changed me from being a "lukewarm sometimes soccer watcher" to a "die-hard must-see soccer matches" fan! :)

  • I lost my voice yelling out loud when Donovan scored that goal to put them in first place, im live in Nashville,TN but i was visiting family in Guatemala the entire world cup. experiencing it from a country that is that passionate about the sport was great i might even go back in four years to do it

  • US soccer as whole is a mixed bag. When you look at our national team, their progress has been phenomenal. Sure they only won one game, but there were alot of blown calls and close misses. Dont expect a World Cup next year, but the MNT is on the right track. On the other hand, MLS is awful. Nearly every game I watch is painfully horrible because of the lack of player skill. All of the good players here play for Euro clubs, and thats the problem. If the US wants to embrace soccer, improve MLS.

  • Incredible, not just stateside. My daughter was in Italy with a whole bunch of Highschool/College kids, they all packed their USA jerseys and over ran a bar in Rome. The stories and memories she has will last a lifetime. It was so cool to hear how much support the US had even in other countries in Europe. This kick started soccer again..people are playing soccer in the parks on sunday afternoons with their friends and family. Inspiring it truly is.

  • It was definitely the biggest and the most dramatic moment ever in US Soccer History, THANK YOU DONOVAN! For inspiring us and to attack the impossible.

    GO USA!

  • I started watching soccer regularly two years ago and was so excited for the World Cup. I was still hopeful going into injury time but to be honest I didn't think it was going to happen. When I saw Howard throw the ball down the wing I stood up because you could see it evolving. When Dempsey didn't get the goal it felt like a kick to the chest but then Landon came up and knocked it right in. I still get CHILLS thinking about it. I cheered so loud the neighbors came out of their houses.

  • That goal against Algeria was without question my favorite goal of this past World Cup. It's a memory I will never forget. I screamd to the top of my lungs when Landon Donovan came in to make the goal. It was a beautiful moment that the entire world saw, but most importantly, that made the entire USA very proud. God bless Landon & the guys. We love you guys!

  • when USA scored that goal.....i almost cried (with joy).

  • The goal against algeria made me vomit. literally. It was an amazing moment in US soccer history. I'll never forget it. <3

  • I was yelling my ass off when donovan scored that goal to put us in 1st place over england. This goal will live in the hearts of US soccer fans forever.

  • landon u rock!

  • It was definitely the biggest and the most dramatic moment ever in US Soccer History, THANK YOU DONOVAN! For inspiring us and to attack the impossible.

    GO USA!

  • You guys did great and make me and the usa Proud we hope we can get to the final game in the 2014 world cup. Landon Donovan congrats on your 100 career MLS goal I am a LA Galaxy fan too.

  • the Algeria game was probably the single most tense match in my life and i wasnt playing. Thank you US MNT looking forward to the world cup 2014

  • My web cam is not working so i can not take a video for response. I wish I could because the goal against Algeria was one of the most memorable moments of my life. I remember screaming so loud I scared everyone around me and feeling the tears well up in my eyes. i didn't stop celebrating that goal for more than 30 minutes!

This is truly a new page for U.S. soccer and I can't wait for 2014!!!

  • That goal is absolutely the best in soccer history! I can never forget that. Landon you're soooooooooo amazing! thank you all for a memorable World Cup. And beat Brazil for us August 10. Good luck!

  • the Algeria game was probably the single most tense match in my life and i wasnt playing. Thank you U.S MNT looking forward to the Brazil game and the world cup 2014

  • This goal got into soccer, I just started playing it 3 weeks ago and as of right now soccer is my favorite sport to play. I always use to hate soccer and liked football better but now I have respect for the game

  • I will never forget the goal because of what it means to me. It was the day of my highschool graduation. The goal reminds me to keep going and every time i feel like i cant, I remind myself of my hero Landon Donovan’s goal. What the USMNT did inspires me everyday to keep going, with my best effort until the very end. Thank you USMNT for making me and many others even more proud to be a fan. USA USA USA!!!!

  • Never in my life has a sporting event sent me on an emotional roller coaster. My stomach was in knots. My heart was pounding like a drum. Then, when Landon slammed home the game-winner all I could do is cry and yell at the top of my lungs. At that particular moment I have never been more proud to be an American and a soccer fan.

  • I was at a bar in Shanghai with a lot of US fans and UK fans because the games were going on simultaneously. It was getting late at night, but many US fans stayed to the very end, even as time was running short. When the goal happened, the bar erupted with cheers, with lots of high fiving and celebration. I have a video I need to upload... The contrast with appearing to not be able to advance, with suddenly advancing because of the incredible goal was absolutely remarkable. Nice shot!

  • honestly usa made this more than soccer. soccer is by far my favorite sport but the us mens team made it more, they did so well that they become apart of the well known and big name teams. thank you for giving me the biggest reason i have' to be proud of my country

  • Amazing moment that will always be remembered in US soccer history. Landon Donovan and the entire USA team brilliantly captured the hearts of everyone in the states. Cant wait till the next competition! :)

  • I feel that the USA should have bet ghana, the USA had good players this year. I hope Donovan and Dempsey play in the next worl d cup.

  • Landon, I was at a camp with about 60+ 15-18 year old kids. Our reaction was priceless, when you finally knocked that goal in the entire room went nuts! We almost broke the TV we were watching it on! A great run that you guys had in South Africa, best of luck!

  • Landon, my best memory of the world cup is the story you just mentioned.

Even watching this video, especially the end of it got me chocked up. :D

    USA!!

  • well i had tears of joy :) i jumped up and woke up everyone in my apartment and i skipped something important. i and it meant everything to me, and for the greatest moment in usa soccer history/
