  • Greet.

  • Cool playing, and be sure to check Yossi Hamami concerto for piccolo "freakollo". I finally got it in piano reduction and it's the best thing ever.

  • This is similar to Sudani music, believe it or not!

  • Diah huit. We must keep our languages. Never let gaelic die. I'm from the Basque Country, and we speak Basque. It's a very ancient language, and even if politicians try not to give an impulse to our language we keep it alive. We also keep our musical culture. I play the trikitixa, a kind of melodeon, and played some live music several times in Galway ,Kilkenny.... Spanish law says speaking Basque is a right but speaking spanish is obligatory. It makes no sense. Freedom for the Basque Country!!

  • Ok so im Australian but this music is like nothing ive ever heard! its amazing!

  • I LOVE THIS!!!

And I know someone's gonna balk at me for saying this but I cringed when I saw the way that violinist was holding her bow!!!!! AAAAAAAAAK!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe she just started, but that's such a bad habit! :P

But like I said, this is AWESOME!!! I love Irish music :)

  • I love songs like this so much. My only question is why did they decide to play in e flat.

  • The perfect trip, go to a peaceful country like Ireland, with so much green and life, listening to the traditional music, drinking beer at a quiet far away 200 year old house. Does that exist? I would love if that came true.

  • @LiveLaughLovesss trust me it does exist! I have been to the West Coast of Ireland about 7 times in the past 3 years and I have never been disappointed.

  • Excelente! soy argentino, descendiente de Irlandeses, mi apellido materno es Hunt. Y amo esta música, la disfruto mucho, gracias.

    Ireland is the best!

  • @satanorz cheers bud! s'good to be irish and good to be here, even if our weather's shit...

  • this is so reminds me of some ethiopian music.

  • @moiadresUSSR

It reminds me of Italian Pizzica.

  • I just ADORE this music!!! I'm a very "challenged" flute player (trpt is my instrument), but I can easily appreciate the authentic flautin' in your group! I also love the sound of the fiddle & squeeze box, which just add to the authentic sound of the Highlands music. Is that a mandolin-kinda-thing, that the feller on my left is pickin', so perfectly? If so, tell him "thanks" from "The StradMan", who has always loved your sort of music (WMNF-FM ring a bell, down in Tampa?).

  • Outstanding!

  • yip, definitely a guitar !

  • the music i love Irish

  • I love the traditional céilidh music, the culture and the history of Ireland and I am so looking forward to my holiday in Tralee, County Kerry in July 2010.

    Thanks for posting!

  • ugg i need to go to ireland to check out my culture and get some nice beer and liquor lol

  • I love the Irish Flute! :3

  • I really can't wait to go back out to Ireland this Summer to enjoy the music and the craic. Ireland forever!

  • I love Ireland.

  • just really great and lovely melodies from earth!...Irish? ... turkish? cheenese? arab? engilish? american ? ... this is meaningless I am only know earth peoples thats all!.

  • Im hispanic and I wish I was either Irish or British

  • Ummm kinda hard to either since the Irish are British, but being Hispanic is just as good IMO.

Besides being itself is too much without trying to be anything.

    :0)

  • @no5eyparker aren't only nothern irish british? pardon the geographic noobness

  • @chansherly212 Well they believe that they are exlusively British.

The truth is a little unkind to all in the Island, as it is to those living in the other British Islands.

Over several centuries the people of these islands mixed and intermixed so much that it is impossible to find any place there that does not have a mixture of all four nations, English, Irish, Scottish and Welsh.

Just an ironic twist of fate and a bludgeon upon those that seek to divide us ...

    Love your music :0)

  • @no5eyparker um, not all believe they are british. many go to great lengths to stress that they are not british, in some cases (though very rare these days) rioting and worse. i do have to agree with your point of the mixture of and shared heritage though.

  • @no5eyparker are you of Irish descent yourself or just a fan of Irish music?

  • @no5eyparker Are you completely mad?

  • @no5eyparker

The Irish republic will of course have a variety of people: some Tribal Celtic in origin, some Manx, some Huguenot, & so on.... But IRELAND IS NOT BRITISH. The country has a distinct history of resistance to the British, as well as a culture & language separate from English. A lot of Irish would take offense to being called British, since they colonized the island & oppressed the natives for so long. The Irish people struggled & fought for their culture & the music we hear here!

  • @chansherly212 well. technically we're all part of the British Isles. ^^

  • @no5eyparker I suppose you can say most Irish are likely to have British ancestors, but I don't think you can really say the Irish are British, since technically the definition of British is 'of Great Britain, or in legal matters, of the United Kingdom,' and the Republic of Ireland is not under either. I do understand your point, though--that despite what we call ourselves we are all connected (especially if you live on islands that are so close to each other, ay? Haha)

  • me 2 hahahah

  • @Lararevelute im british and wish i was a spanish guy with black hair and ray bans, with a name like Pablo Fuentes and lived by a beach with loads of money eating paella and haivng sex

  • @Diorama42

Just for saying it, I'm Spanish, I live near the sea, my hair's brown, but dude, If you had lots of money, it doesnt' matter what's your name, or where are you from! Youre going to have all the other stuff.

PS. We're not that into sex and paella, we do other strange stuff, like... working?

  • @MaireCeann You could say that most Irish are Spanish as well as saying that they are British....

Do A Google search on "Tuatha De Danann". Those people were the REAL Elves aka Faeries, and went into mythology after they were defeated in a battle in 300BC with the Milesians, who had come from Northern Spain. The Milesians brought Gaelic and are largely ancestors of today's Irish.

  • @Lararevelute funny cuz i know a lot of irish and british people who wish they were hispanic :p

  • @Lararevelute ja! malinchista -.-

  • Irish is the best

  • @Lararevelute Im south american, irish, and black. I wish i wasn't born in America. That's about it

  • @Lararevelute you have a chance. The last discoveries in genetics prove that the Irish are indeed Basques who migrated to Ireland in prehistoric times. Check the Genographics Program of National Geographic .

  • @Lararevelute hispanics have their own type of badass folk culture too

  • @Lararevelute

If you like this music, you're Irish enough

  • @Lararevelute same here but i'm german -.-

  • @Lararevelute :) maybe you are....:) who knows? maybe you've got celtic blood in your veins

  • @Lararevelute God gave it all to you,and so he gave you not the Race, but the Heart of it.

  • coooooooooooool

  • This music is on my Irish dance practice CD. We dance to this exact song. I love it. I'm in an adult beginner's class at the Niall O'Leary school in NYC!

  • Is it difficult to learn it? For me it seems like it's kinda not easy ;-)

  • Its always difficult when he teaches a new step, but I pick it up after a while. You have to keep working on it.

  • Wexford <3

  • i play the flute but not the Irish one though

  • excelente

  • not that they don't sound great, because they do, but they would benefit immensely from a sound board.

  • i love welsh music but not much about like :'(

  • proud to be Irish born and bred

  • I am an Asian (Korean) but I sometimes envy the other cultures for their wide variety of music. For Ireland, they have amazing tap dancers and music, so lively!

However, in Korea, our music is women singing obnoxiously while banging on oversized drums.

  • yeah this music is good

but what abolut Korea's BoA, she is very nice. How about Big Bang or Bi? There are good Korean artists too xDD

  • awsome love this irish music

  • If you´ve reached this level of playing music, it is not longer the question who is better. It is a question of who do you like to listen to, if you want to hear perfect irish music. And I like the stile of these musicians. Perfect, floating, welling, easy, like a summers breace. Unreached.
