Question for u cool guys, i wana buy a cymbal set that comes with everything, would b8 be worth the quick buy or xs20 to buy later. once i buy them i intend to make them last a veeery long timee.

@IronFabianSteel If you only play solo then the b8 metal is just fine but if you're playing with other people (in the future?) xs20 blends in much better. B8 has some ugly overtones which are in this case very annoying. Don't know 'bout durabilaty but I do know that xs20 has no hammering so they can be selled cheaper than other b20 cymbals and have less cut and volume. In a loud band they won't cut through.

i play with vault 14" hats. they're good but theres just something i don't like about them. they're quite harsh so i think perhaps thats it. i use aax dark crash, a meinl crash and aax ride.

Yeah. I absolutely LOVE the v-crashes. But the hats? not so much. THey are REALLY shimmering sounding and hats shouldn't sound like that. Well, I play HxC and want my hats to have an exploding, washy, yet warm open hit, and a cutting chick. V-hats are just HARSH (like youi said) ;)

yeh...as much as i love the Vault crashes...the hats just don't kinda tick all my boxes either...hhx or aax for hats...but vaults sound lush in recording studios as well as live...my paragons sound awsome live...but not as great in the studio..

Before I used to HATE Sabian. I mean H.A.T.E only liked Zildjian. But my appreciation for all companies and sounds has grown so now I actually like Sabian. Especially AAX cymbals and Paragons. I still love Zildjian, but I like Sabian.

uhm...Zildjian and Sabian are very similar! They come from the same family but one strayed away from Zildjian and created Sabian! I like them both equally tho I think Sabian has better crashes(Vault 17"-20" crashes are incredible and fairly affordable aswell!)

on my set i got a 16 inch thin b8 crash and 18 inch b8 medium crash a 20 inch b8 ride and a 14 inch b8 hi hat and a 18 inch xs20 china...the vault ride sounds insane all the vault sounds insane...any one have a suggestion on what Sabian cymbal line of cymbals i should try out and if,one other thing

AA's, AAX's, APX's, and HH's for rock or metal. HHX if you play jazz. Also, and I KNOW I'm gonna get a lot of bad feedback for saying this, try Meinl Soundcaster Customs and MB20's for rock and Meinl Byzance for effects (Splash, China, etc.)

Meinl is another good company, ever tried Istanbul cymbals, and I know you Sabian fans will hate me for this, but try Zildjian's new ZHT cymbals, I thought wow sheet cymbals these gotta suck, but they actually sound very very VERY GOOD!!!!

If you're looking for something really good sounding (if you're willing to splurge just a little) I would go with the Paragon series, the Neil Peart sig series. I would have gone with HH cymbals but... Dayyyyum, so f-ing expensive.

ive got a 17 and a 18 inch vault and it blows balls ill be honest, hhx is about 4000 times better in my opinion. dont get vaults, paiste 2002 line are my favorite cymbals of all time although the dough youve got to put out for them is insane :S

It's all a matter of opinion, it just so happens Sabian cymbals are my favourite by far, because of my particular taste in cymbal sound. Another drummer could listen to a Sabian cymbal that I like and hate it themself. It doesn't mean they have bad taste, or that the cymbal is good or bad.
