    =o

  • If this is what Texas is really like...let's give it back to Mexico.

  • Nostalgia Critic : This is awful, I haven't heard music this bad since Woody Woodpecker sang "Ride of the Valkyries" at the Lyric Opera.

  • If i were North, I would punch Dan Aykord in the face because he is behaving like a total redneck

  • Seriously, why did this film get such horrible reviews. It was great

  • The Nuremberg speech by Hitler was more racially sensitive that this movie

  • big lipped alligator moment

  • Comment removed

  • just be this wasn't in my little pony

  • catchy annoying but horrible like the song

  • Oh look the only scene in the movie that was actually half decent

  • Nostalgia Critic sent me

  • our razzie classic....... what times

  • Even though the movie was lame loved this scene where Reba was singing while North (played by Elijah Wood) had a look on his face during the whole song like he was thinking these people were just plain nuts.

  • Hello.......song.

  • Elijah Wood is like "WTF IS GOING ON ???"

  • I fecking lolled so hard at this, not because the jokes are funny, but because it's so hilariously bad! And the Bonanza theme song is still catchy xP Also, Dan Akroyd's Trollface at the end makes me rofl XD

  • nothing good about this song, it is irritating and stereotypical, even when not in the movie it is still a suicide to hear.

If you want a song that can have a second chance instead of this joke, pick "we can do anything" from the Garbage Pail Kids movie because it is definately much better than this.

  • I love Reba!!!!

  • What the fuck

  • Dan Akroyd: 'Nother rib son

Nostalgia Critic: No but a legitimate joke would be nice

  • ...The only musical number in the entire movie, right there.

  • I love that Wood had the perfect reaction to the song. Sheer terror. There is no other logical way to react when your foster parents burst out into a fully choreographed song and dance number with all the servants.

  • I find this way too catchy to be normal...

  • You know what's kind of wierd? The end of the movie makes all this a dream.

I think North has a LOT of racial issues...

  • @KingGekko Just like Alan Zweibel, who also had racial issues when writing this insult to my I.Q.. Seriously Zweibel, this isnt the road movies of the 30's/40's, like the nostalgia critic said, "READ A F***ING BOOK"

  • Wow Dan! First this now Yogi Bear. History has not been kind to you.

  • @1MissKarlieStarr what's wrong with yogi bear?

  • @supermariofan03 Just the fact that they're stooping low enough to make a Yogi Bear remake.

  • WORST SONG OF ALL TIME!!!!!!!! The Nostalgia Critic is right. Like I said Betty Lou looks like she's 18 years old. Those lyrics are so poorly written that would make Alan Menken's puke a masterpiece maker, This movie is so hurtful and offensive it would make Martin Luther King Jr.,Gandhi, and other equal right leaders rolling in their graves. Am I right?

  • Wow. All I can say is "Wow."

  • Yuck. I just got explosive diarrhea in my shorts. Thanks a lot, Dan Akroyd.

  • THAT IS JUST CRUEL AND OFFENSIVE AT THE SAME TIME. WHY WOULD DAN ACKROYD AND REBA MCENTREE BRING THEMSELVES TO SUCH A HUGE LOW! ALSO THEY WANT NORTH TO MARRY BESY LOU WHI IS OLDER THAN HIM???!!! THAT IS REALLY REALLY REALLY FUCKED UP.

  • NUVER RIB ZUN *Rape Face*

  • Why, Dan Akroyd? Why?

Poor Elijah Wood. I bet he never lived this down.

  • Uh, what the fuck?

  • I'd have the same reactions North had

  • I always thought they were implying that the texans were fattening up their son to eat him, and were disappointed that he died in a stampede instead...and that's where the joke was.

  • Oh this must be that missing beauty and the beast song "BE OUR HOSTAGE"

  • @moviefreak2011 thumbs up for people who post nostalgia critic quotes!

  • this might have been a horrible scene but elijah's cute little face always makes it better some how.

  • dan akroyd's inexplicably long, dinosaur-egg forehead has always filled me with rage.

  • 'NOTHER RIB, SON?

  • @The1CamBo "No, a legitimate joke would be nice" - Nostalgia Critic

  • North's just "I'm gonna let this song run its course."

  • The worst song and dance sequence in any movie...ever!

  • what the flying fuck did i just see?

  • @tommytanker36- I was wondering the same thing.

  • @tommytanker36 I think North is thinking the same thing also.

  • I must be the only person on the planet who derived some genuine, non-ironic entertainment from this film. Is it dumb, racist, shallow and pathetic? Yes, but I just can't resist an energetic song and dance, and lines like "you'll make pals with the buffalo gals"/"just leave some for me"/"hey there!"

  • From the genius who brought you Misery, Stand by Me, and The Secret of Nym. Comes a peice of cinema shit that ruins his whole reputation. I don't know what Rob Reiner was smoking to write this, but lets all hope he got brain damage for it.

  • @TheLANC95 No, The Secret Of Nimh was directed by Don Bluth, not Robert Riehner.

  • @411314 Whatever. The movie still sucks donkey cock.

  • BIG LIPPED ALLIGATOR MOMENT!

  • This definitely wins for the most stereotypes shoved into a minutes worth of song.

    FAIL.

  • @7MukuroRealm It does? I can't make out the lyrics. What are the lyrics?

  • @411314 Well, the lyrics are basically about how texas people only watch rodeos, eat, sing, and dance. The rest of the movie has stereotypes, but the creator dislike texan so much he made a song about them.

  • Dan Akroyd.... you think this is the lowest he could go??? haha no.... wait til yogi bear!!!

  • Comment removed

  • What the hell was Reba McEntire thinking using her incredible voice for this crap? Did Rob Reiner pull up to her house with a dump truck full of money?

  • im offended and im not even texan. i'm bloody irish.

  • ...

    ...

...A BIG LIPPED ALLIGATOR MOMENT! :P

  • Betty Lou is freaking and her smile is just HORRIBLE!! xD

  • I'm not sure what's more disturbing: The random outburst of the song or the fact it's choreographed...

  • I loved this movie SO FREAKING MUCH. and this song was constantly stuck in my head.

  • God dammit, Dan Aykroyd was Ray from Ghostbusters! How the hell did he stoop down to such a low?

  • it sounds like the song "you can't get a man with a gun".

  • What are they saying from 0:57 to 1:00? I can't understand their accent.

  • i love his face,like what the heck?1?!?!

  • Hello! Song??

  • Yeah apperanly theres a song in this movie. Is is a funny song, NO. Is it a charming song, NO. Is the movie a musical, NO. SO WHAT THE HELL!!

  • i have to admit sadly this is my favorite country song ever......ow that hurts to say

  • fly, you foool!

  • ......

Where THE HELL did this song even come from? I...I'm very lost...and disturbed. Elijah Wood's face pretty much sums up this song. I guess there's only one way of putting this, "Hello...song?"

  • Isn't the tune for this song "borrowed" from a television show? If only I could remember the name...

  • @Arpeggiato yes. the theme is 'borrowed' from the Western theme Bonanza

  • western SHOW Bonanza that is

  • What....was that?

    It came out of nowhere

  • Hey it's the missing Beauty and the Beast song, Be Our Hostage! - Nostalgia Critic

  • "Hello...Song?"

  • Big lipped alligator moment :P

  • I know the songs bad, I know the movies bad but for some strange reason I can't fantom I still like this song becuase it makes me laugh

  • Now I know how Illeana Dougas felt in Cape Fear.

  • "No...but a legitimate song would be nice!"

    - Nostalgia Critic.

  • @MichaelDj54

    Joke*

  • @MichaelDj54

He said legitimate joke not song...just sayin

  • The problem with the whole "it's the kid's imagination that dreamt up these awful stereotypes" is that you go through the whole movie not knowing that, so it's not like you suddenly become unoffended by everything when they reveal it. I see what they were trying to do, but it doesn't work. The whole "It was all a dream" thing rarely works in movies because it's an excuse for the writers to not resolve what was going on and makes pretty much the whole movie irrelevant.

  • on a side note, looking at North at 0:26

I have to admit, if a bunch of Texans marched out from the sides wearing those getups and started singing and doing acrobatics and choreography, I'd have that 'wth!?' expression on my face, too

  • i have to admit, the lines that end in pumpkin pie and texan sky have a good melody and musical backing.

  • I haven't heard music this bad since Wood Woodpecker sang "Rise of the Valkyries" at the Lyric Opera!

  • lovely how they want him to be fat as heck

  • i think the only reason that song was there was cuz of reba... and the only reason y i looked this up was because of her, cuz she has an awesome singing voice :)

  • Am I the only one here who actually likes this movie--even after being introduced to it by the NC review? ;-;

This song gets stuck in my head too easily, though. >>

  • I think it has its moments. I used to like it only because I had a major crush on Elijah Wood.

  • This isn't even how Texans dress! This is how ice skaters dressing as Texans dress!!

  • I have to admit, the song is pretty catchy though.

  • This movie was terrible.

Elijah wood and bruce willis were the only good things about this film.

It had its good moments, but besides that, the acting and dialouge was horrible from the other actors.

  • Dan Akroyd, What the hell are you doing, performing a IDIOTIC Texas stereotype that's not at all true about Texas?

The jokes in this film are just painfully lame, stupid and unfunny.

  • Maybe because a KID was dreaming the whole thing?

  • dude, it was the imagination of a little kid. of course it would be inaccurate!

  • just because it's a kid dreaming it doesn't make this any better. so what, this dream about every possible conceivable stereotype you can imagine when they dream of what life in another family from another place might be like? do you know how racially and culturally insensitive some of the things in this movie are?

you cant slap a 'Kids Movie' sticker on stereotyping, and expect it to be OK because it was all in a kid's imagination

this may not be as bad, but it's the tip of the iceberg here

  • It's supposed to be over-the-top, the writers OBVIOUSLY knew they were playing out super insane stereotypes that were untrue...That's the whole point!

It was supposed to be kind of like a cartoon, only live-action. Therefore, everything was over-the-top and far from reality. :P

  • that doesn't make it any less offensive.

  • It's offensive to YOU.

Relax, don't take it too seriously, it wasn't intended to offend anybody.

  • the stereotyping offends me. and I"m not the only one it offends. does this mean that because I find it offensive and you dont, and that it takes place in a fictional setting, all offense is automatically removed because it was unintended? you dont have to intend to offend someone to offend them, and social stereotyping can be just as offensive as gender or racial stereotyping.

I understand offense is subjective and varies from person to person, but I'm still offended, and wish to state as such

  • That's fine, I don't want to force my opinion on you or anything. :P

At least you're being mature about it, rather than the people who just post "OMG I HATE THIS MOVIE SO YOU SHOULD TOO".

Jolly good debate, good friend--Er, stranger. *Thumbs up*

  • thank you. I'm glad we could come to a mutual understanding about this subject

yeah, that's really flawed logic, I agree. that's the bandwagon approach to the situation, pretty much, and you really need to take these things with a realistic approach rather than the 'Nostalgia Critic hates it so I hate it to' and purely run on that (though he handeled this subject quite well, too)

*thumbs up* as I said, it was a good debate, and I'm glad it could end on a note of mutual understanding

  • Ahh, I love intelligent people!

(Sorry for this--Rather...random conversation. I'm just a weirdo who responds to a lot of negative comments towards North, trying to see how many people actually have a real reason other than the bandwagon approach.)--You seem to have passed my...Intelligence Test, of sorts? Haha. :P

  • Me: Oh My God! Their singing to the theme song of Bonanza.

    Kyle: You Bastards!

  • another rib son?

No, but a ligetiment joke would be nice!

  • Comment removed

  • "Hello... song."

    -Nostalgia Critic

  • @ultimategamer1457 That was my exact reaction, then I watch the NC video!

  • lol so did i. amazing how he can bring us to watching such things as this. :P

  • lol I hate the movie but I love this song

  • What the hell Dan Akroyd? You were one of the Blues Brothers. The BLUES BROTHERS!

And, it takes alot to offend me but being from Texas and watching this is just painful.

  • @TextheBored hey it could be worse. He could be voicing a talking bear with a green hat who sneaks around a nature park with his bear buddy stealing pic-a-nic baskets

  • @TextheBored

What? You mean this isn't what the average Texas family dinner is like?

  • great scene

  • hate the movie but this song is so catchy
