its not fun actually, and i'll tell you why. say for example if you want to ride your horse from masayaf to jerusalim? you can't, because along the way you will most likely anger dozens of soldiers who can apparanrly tell that your an assassine because your riding your horse too fast(i'm guessing in this world only assassins ride horses) and when your in the city even looking at a guard/soldier the wrong way will make them unsheath their swords and try to kill you. so yea! not so fun after all.
You said you just have to look at a guard the wrong way and you'll be exposed. This is true but only if your near your target, if theres a dead body near, or if its one of those groups of 5 men that you see (i understand thats a bad example). I borrowed this game from a friend, its shit, realy boring and simple, you dont even have to be stealthy or think, you can fight all the guards and kill them eventually.

eerily similar indeed. I actually thought CD was more repetitive - After maxing out my stats in the Volk section, the game became a chore to play; AC really picks up toward the middle and kept me playing due to the awesome narrative. Both great games.
I'd say I had more fun with CrackDown though, co-op was a laugh.
Though any sort of orb collecting shit in games pisses me off, it's just cheap filler to pad out what tantamounts to a bland game. Same with AC's flags and Templar hunting.
now that I think about it, they're similar down to the overarching storyline! Not that CD actually has a plot but the twist at the end was very nice and satisfying. It's too bad they aren't making CD2. Gamers are disappointed w/ AC b/c it was way overhyped; CD however came w/ almost no fanfare but was the most surprisingly great game of 2007 imo
Good review, I liked the game but I agree it was repetitive. I went through it twice so I could catch all the stuff I missed as "the other guy" then I had to collect all the flags and kill all the Templars b/c I missed so many my first time through. It had a cool story and some cool game play elements but some of those elements where reused over and over again. I Hope the sequel fixes this.

Sure, if you're a "rent-a-gamer" then I can't see why you wouldn't buy any game w/ an attractive online XBL mode. So, don't buy Mass Effect or Bioshock or Crackdown or Dead Rising or any other good great 360 game without a great MP mode.

I agree. The game is not as good as all of the hype. I was surprised that Ubisoft had such a great seller since they make so so games. Oddly enough, I was right. I was planning on doing a mini review of this myself.

AC was the most immersive and awesome gaming experience I've had this year along w/ Bioshock; the only problem w/ AC is the amount of pre-release hype it generated. ppl are funny sometimes; for example some folks call Crysis a dissapointment yet praise COD4 to high heaven; I love both but it's a pretty clear distinction b/t innovation and rehash...

Yeah it's fun but there's little, as he said, variety. You can run on buildings, ride a horse, and kill people. That's about it though.

I really felt they should have stuck some sort of platformy and puzzle sections into the game, like there was in Prince of Persia.
But did you notice how much the game was like Crackdown? I know it wasn't a rip off, but the two games are eeriely similar.
