I wouldn't get your hopes up about finding a pouched rat, they are nearly impossible to find at least in the U.S. They were illegal for 5 years and now are legal again but it is still illegal to import them, therefore no body has any. Stormy my pouched rat gets along with my male and female rats. The pouched rats can't breed with regular rats.
I am not really sure if they are legal or not over there, i thought they might be, but i can't be sure. Gambians can be pretty hard to find -i wish some Zoo's would have them at least on display.
Stormy is a Gambian pouched rat i got a few years ago from a breeder/pet wholesaler. They are unfortunatly illegal to aquire now in the US, due to the moneypox scare. She is great, so much fun. Yuo diffenatly get exercise chasing her around.
so where in the usa can you buy these?

Pouched rats can't breed with regular rats, it's not possible. If it was i probably wouldn't let them play together!

I let my male and female regular rats out to play at different times, i don't breed them.
