the idea of the minority party being able to STOP a bill when the majority is for it, is fucking hilarious...republicans had 8 years to fix health care after killing clintons bill, they did nothing, now that someone wants to actually DO something about it, they still just want to say no...how many times do americans have to be burned by absurd costs before we prevent it from happening again? were at that point now, yet STILL republicans want to ruin it...
So, I guess according to your comment, that you are like The Great Charlatan and his minions, who plan to vote AGAINST the American people. The latest Gallup poll, (today), shows that 52% of likely voters, do not want this bill. If one knowingly, and intentionally votes against Americans, YES, one WILL go down. And, yes, the bill will be repealed after November. Watch.
Make the Democrats read Article I, Section 7 of the U.S. Constitution. I know they believe the Constitution is a "charter of negative rights," as their feckless leader, and king of the teleprompter, claims.
It's time to go back to the Constitution and it's time for Americans to demand term limits for politicians. We should never hear these two words ever...career politician!
ki6bxp, Sen. while I'm not so sure if Sen. DeMint is the strong constitutionalist that Rep. Ron Paul is, I have to say that I respect him & wish him well. As you probably know, Sen. Coburn is a good guy, too. Let's hope & pray that Dr. Rand Paul will win in KY this November!
Pelosi just stated we need to pass the bill to see what's in it. The very heart of the Republic is now in jeopardy. A singular, specific, proposed bill has very specific requirements for compliance/passage with the recording of members votes in both houses. No policies have ever been enacted without the passage of specific statutes. This is the greatest Constitutional crisis in our nations history, no laws, just tyrannical rule.
The unconstitutional implementation of this process is effectively imposing Marshall Law. We are looking at collusion between separate branches of government to conspire to circumvent the law. This is lawlessness of the highest order! Patriots be prepared! Keep up the fight Republican Senators if you want our votes!
@SuperCaliforiaGuy ... can you share where you found the financial breakdown you posted? I'm trying to put together a small article on my blog, and I'd like the reference material. Thanks! :-)
I think we should let liberals buy into Canada's health care system. They would love those lines and the great service found in Socialized industries.
Good for you! Thank you republicans for standing firm against this bill that is so unpopular with the american people. We feel we are being steamrolled over.
Yup, so how did this one work out Mr. Cardboard? I mean Thune

Whoever votes for this bill, will pay dearly for such a vote.
The American people PROMISE that.

As usual, Sen DeMint is staunchly the Constitutionalist and probably the clearest voice of Conservatives

The real costs are: (1) 10 years of taxes for 6 years of benefits.
(2) Cut $460 billion from Medicare.
(3) Rob $52 billion from SS.
(4) Rob $72 billion from long-term disability.
(5) Double count the above as bill cost offsets.
(6) Transfer $371 billion into another bill called Doc Fix.
Thus, the true cost is $2.3 trillion for first 10 years, not the democrats advertised $950 billion. This means ballooning the deficit.
