Why does Piper continue to not include the Piper Comanche in it's history? The Comanche was the fastest and best performing aircraft before the Saratoga in my opinion and experience.
Cherokee is ok , but my Cherokee is a REAL performer . The difference: Motor was changed to a 230 Hp turbo diesel ( Jet fueled ) direct change out for the original Lycoming. Performance is almost hard to believe ! Climbs to 12,500' in just 10 minutes from sea level, Cruise at 145 Kts ( Yes it still has the fixed undercariage ) Vero beach to Oshkosh non stop with 2Hrs reserve. Finally NO I am not making this up! Too bad Piper co , dose not make this an available option yet.
Three Cheers for Piper! I lived my dream learning to fly in a Cherokee 140. Oh, happy, happy days! Flying around Scotland and Northern Ireland was airborne magic and I always felt much superior in the Piper to the wee Cessna 172 lot. They were students but I felt I was a pilot!
Thank you Piper. The memories are as bright and clear as if they were just yesterday.
Interesting and educational. I learnt mostly in C152, some C172, planes but enjoyed the flights I took in Pipers. Sure I'd love to own a Cirrus SR22 or a Columbia 400 but in reality I've always considered the Archer one of the most suited for my "needs".
I trained on both the PA38 and PA28, I now instruct in the PA38, 28-140,161, and 181 I really like flying the Piper family and the latest Archer and warriors are really nice A/C to fly :D
I am refering to the single engine Comanche. Yes, Piper made one and it was considered their "cadillac" of the SE line.

Just bought a 1969 Cherokee 140B to train in: I wouldn't train in anything else. Piper all the way!
