TKD is for girls, They all get knocked out from 1 kick and its the same kick over and over again, they also fall after throwing the kick, what good is that??. Even a simple boxer could knock these people out.

@beast1195 actually dumbass the point of point sparring is to only score points. Olympic style is totally different and the KO is the ultimate point score because it ends the fight.

And not only children there. I know nothing about Taekwon-do but I can clearly see that you have to aim for the opponent's head to knock them down and that could result in very very dangerous to receive so many kicks in the face!

@Ciukyexacta Until you are 18 or a black belt you can't kick to the head in competition and if you're a minor blackbelt its only light controlled contact to the head. If they kick hard enough to draw blood or ko the other kid the person that did the head kick is DQed

Yes it does, but when reaching an olympic niveau of skill most fighters find are the only effective. In lower grades' tournaments fists are used little.

But the TKD you learn at a dojang is taught with fist techniques (that is what the "kwon" stands for :)

tkd was originated b4 sparring, and sparring is like the point scoring sport version of tkd. and point sparring came way after tkd.

so yeah lower divisions use fists a little.

but tkd is originally the art of fist and foot
