  • The moral of the story: Stay in school.

  • What about the paired board or the possibility of better flushes? Call the turn and reevalute the river...

  • Cracks me up just looking at Adam Schonefeld!

  • Moral of the story is don't try to get all the chips in against one of the only stacks who has you covered with 3 knockouts to go until the November 9.

  • people that go "he couldnt call because.." end of the day.. he can call! Also.. Moon could argue that when he re raised the turn that Kopp cant call because Moon could say he was representing the full house

  • zerep006 well said

  • yeah you don't have to blast your whole stack... but i think kopp had some plans when he did this.

  • nobody gave mooney the lumberjack credit all throughout the 2009 main event and he ended up in 2nd place. never played a hand online. just him and his backwood buddies probably playing once a month at the huntin' cabin. god bless america....

  • Thats why you NEVER play 3 5.You will not win as many times as you will lose with that hand. I know you have to mix it up but that close to the FT with that stack, I say just play abc poker. Once you reach thye FT, then you can open up with junk hands but to lose all your chips like that shouldn't had happen. There's better flushes out there and the board was paired, the reward was not worth the risk and i'm no "youtube expert" but Kopp shouldnt had been in the hand to begin with

  • darvin moon looks like a truckdriver

  • My goodness the "youtube professionals" are everywhere. It's really amazing that there can be so many talented players who know so much about poker! They must all make millions of dollars in tournaments! These guys that play on TV are so bad!

Morons. Amateur poker players must be the most arrogant idiots I've ever met.

  • Those moments are gone. Espn wsop new format has nothing but guys thinking and folding. You don't know what is going on. Now Poker on tv is boring....

  • "I'm virtually assured of making the final table with a lot of chips!!..............I think I'll risk it all with 3-5 against the biggest luck box in the tournament!" Good plan Billy....good plan.

  • lol bluff shove turn wp sir

  • terrible play by kopp. playing tiny suited connectors can get you into lots of trouble when u flop tiny flushes or crappy two pairs since your hand is easily cracked and you could often be drawing dead to a better hand. its possible darvin is bluffing but its just not worth finding out. yes darvin would check raise with trip deuces (hes a big donk himself) or a big flush draw but he'd still have outs and kopp is drawing dead against a bigger flush or full house. awful spot for kopp to be in

  • love the youtube pros comments

  • 2:07. His mannerisms are vintage phil hellmuth, it's uncanny.

  • Comment removed

  • @Andurii6000 it's called stealing the blinds

  • darvin moon the fatso

  • Lon gives me chills everytimes at 2:42

  • 3 5 suited you deserve to get smacked down

    playing that crap

  • @hollywoodjim45 ya but darvin moon played it like if he had the A of diamonds when he cheked the flop so after that on the turn, Kopp had alrdy commited lots of his chips so he had to push

  • @hollywoodjim45 ya but darvin moon played it like if he had the A of diamonds when he cheked the flop so after that on the turn, Kopp had alrdy commited lots of his chips so he had to push it all cuz if he just called then he could have let darvin hit another diamond to make what he believed was darvin's hand. But Darvin simply played the hand perfectly

  • @RG32hockey Commited lots of CHIPS!!! HE ONLY HAD 3million if that in the middle and started with 25 million. Kopp totally blew his load and tried to win the tournament in that hand thats why he got stoned and had to say goodbye!!!

  • Seriously Kopp plays 5-3suited and runs up against a better hand in Q-J suited....now moon and kopp flops a flush but honestly why wouldnt moon think his hand is good BB vs Dealer button kopp culd have anything and moon knows that kopp would not bet a set on the flop with all the diamonds...but wats the chance that Kopp flop a Set then turned a full...not really good chances so moon called...besides all his baby fkush is beatin on the turn is trips and lower so good csll by moon...kopp bad play

  • Just lost with my quads to a higher quad! This site has to be fixed!!!

  • total meltdown... no explanation needed

  • like duhamel VS Affleck

  • Billy Kopp? Billy KUNT more like!

  • I'm sorry did kopp really raise with 53 in a big tournament near the final table with plenty of chips left?

  • Some of those dudes at that table had seen some flops. The cards weren't surprising. It was the play from both players that was surprising. Notice how though a player was eliminated no one seemed happy? Stunned. So ok, this insane play is swallowed and the players start calculating how many double ups they need to catch Moon. Ha, ha, even against a lesser player the odds aren't good. Great post.

  • Not sure if it's been posted but Darvin wasn't even aware the turn was a paired card in this hand. He has since admitted as much.

  • Nobody was a real winner in that hand. They both played it like n00bs.

  • now that's embarrassing. poor bastard thought he was good there.

  • I mean ace 2, with the ace of dimonds is possible for moon. it's hard for any of us to diss a play, when we only get too see 1/100th of the hands played aginst each other, I'm sure they had some history that lead to billys descsion.. Darvin also might of played AA this way and just has the A of dimonds.. or AK, darvin isnt a standard player, and we dont have the info Kopp has.. but you simply can not judge if its a completley bad play w/o all the information.

    overplayed : Yes, Reason?: Maybe!

  • @mmnmnmmmnmmn

i hear what you're saying, but that's not the case. kopp said he had no read on the guy because they'd only been playing for about a half hour or so.

    watch?v=ym43nobsTwo 1:40

i think he really just got carried away and thought he had it. watch the way he flips his cards over. he seems confident he has it.

  • @adam75south Yah, I'm saying, we cant judge what the optimal play was here.. However If he jams, he's RARELY getting called by worse.. and also forces out the small % of bluffs

but anyway, it's w/e, but his turn jam, is going too be spewy, alot more times then not.. Impulse gets the better of people somtimes, and logical thinking takes a back seat..

Only he could fully justify his play, but since you said he had no read, then it's a pretty bad spew tbh.. and more likely a play of impulse.

  • @mmnmnmmmnmmn

in that interview, he mentions that a better player would be laying down a nut flush there. problem is, he also mentions the only thing he knew about the guy was that he was a novice player...and you can't ever expect a novice to lay down a flush on a paired board. plus, like i said, the way he flipped his cards you can tell he thought he was ahead.

  • @adam75south We'll w/e no one just watching can give a full justification for any play.. So it's w/e.. Sure was a shitty was too go out though.

  • @mmnmnmmmnmmn

i think either i'm confused or you are. kopp gave his own justification for the play in the interview i posted

    watch?v=ym43nobsTwo

  • @adam75south ok.

  • @mmnmnmmmnmmn It's easy to diss raising with 3-5 in that position. Trying to steal blinds with his stack and position heading to the November 9 was an idiot move. Pushing with a paired board and a baby flush was equally as stupid.

  • @mmnmnmmmnmmn ur an idiot... kopp shoved with a weak flush... he would only get called by a flush or a boat

  • @mmnmnmmmnmmn

you basically always make the same comment "we dont have the info blabla", which is not wrong but since you are a very good player (i looked up you stats btw respect for your achievements so far!) so you should also know that there is little to no value in shoving this turn since he is ONLY gonna get called by a full house or a better flush (only a hyper-donk would call with trips or an Ad at this stage of the tournament)

  • @mmnmnmmmnmmn way too high varience a spot to go with a baby flush on a paired board with the nov. 9 looming, its a fold all day!! This is one of the biggest blowups of all time and if u ask billy kopp now he'll admit it was a horrible mistake.

  • Wow he played that hand just like a fish . And what the hell does he think moon will call with a worst hand? that's why I never protect my hand because it can cause so much damage. I also think unless moon had some sick read on kopp his call on the turn was pretty loose. Taking everything into account you shud really on b calling calling with a full house and maby at minimum the nut flush

  • @Izaak247 This is why you are a passive nit

  • they are all donkeys

  • i guess he thought darvin had the ace of diamonds.

  • problem is I have a feeling Darvin didn't care about the money. He was just happy to be there so there is no way he's laying down the second nut flush.

  • Where is the meltdown?

  • @cadetleader It's the part where Kopp shoves with baby flush on paired board fully expecting double up.

  • Ya done B

  • Norman's right as usual; Kopp had a chance to keep the pot small by checking the turn. Whilst the all-in re-raise was a mistake he wouldn't have even been in that position if he hadn't bet.

  • Kopp is not the # 1 donk...is candio the new one

  • @motz123

    yea he is

  • Some points I would like to make as people are viewing this hand in a vacuum

    1. It's 6 handed

    2. Kopp has been frequently raising and bullying the table

    3. From Billy Kopp's reaction after Moon's cards were turned over it seemed he believed he had the best hand.

    4. If he's turning his hand into a bluff do you really think even 95% of players will fold given his image.

    5. If he had Moon beat it would more sense to call Moon's raise and shove when he commits himself on the river.

  • @Mitjitsu very good analysis

  • It is because of guys like Billy Kopp, that poker is a profitable game!

  • you'd be mad not to sit out to the final 9. its amazing the sort of action you can create when your blinds are open for the steal to :)

  • Turn bet is fine. Shoving over the turn raise is retarded though.

  • not that im a pro, but check the turn ffs, thats basic stuff

  • darvins spot is one of those spots where i am like 'nooo' where all that effort and work hangs on this one decision

  • it wasn't the worst play in the world. Kopp was representing the full house and maybe darvin doesn't have the flush then he wins the hand. Also Darvin didn't exactly have the nut flush. There's alot of stuff that could beat darvin but obviously darvin wasn't too concerned about the money and called.

  • On the other side of the coin, I think we can all agree that Moon also played it bad. If he was playing to make the final table, he should of check/called or folded. He got extremely lucky IMO that Kopp had a blonde moment and forgot all of his poker skills. The only logic behind Kopp pushing like that was that Moon was the BB, and of course, they all viewed Moon as dead money

  • Ok, lemme explain: 1st: correct, it is the 2nd nut flush. HOWEVER, Kopp really did turn his hand into a bluff. I believe that Kopp thought he had the best hand, but for THAT action, in that stage of the tourney, it was a complete bluff. Anything that can call his betting on the turn had him crushed, so to make that play is idiotic.

  • Billy Kopp fuck up. Little did he know that in 2010 he would leave the wsop in day 3. He is history. And a bad one.

  • he said it by himself that he bluffed and he tought moon would have folded the flush with a pair on the board

  • @TompuBoy nah... he didnt thats wut he says lol.. he though he had best hand.... lol idiot...

  • @THEUnknowneasy he said on a interwju that he tought moon would fold his flush on a paired board, d.O.n.K

  • The funny thing about this hand is that no one comments on the fact this was ALSO a donkish call by Darvin. Not to be another Youtube pro, but I think we can all agree that 90% plus players would fold the 3rd flush right there (12 people left). .. .not being overly critical, but Darvin didn't really have a hand for that level of action, in that position in the tourney

  • @vegasnutzz

You forget that the king of diamonds was on the board. It wasn't the 3rd flush. It was the 2nd.

  • @vegasnutzz ur wrong lol.... he was fishing... meaning.... that he wanted kopp go all in.... even if kopp had ks full... moon wasnt not drawing dead.... i think he though other guy pushed with aces.... but he knew it wasnt a full house..... Another diamond??.... A maybe?? ... he went for his guts.... he got it right.... thats sick call but he got it right NO DONKEY CALL!!!...

  • @vegasnutzz 3rd flush but the sencond was on the board! You almost have to call! that was not a donkish call.

  • @vegasnutzz Little correction, it was the 2nd highest flush, since the king was already on the board. This changes little about your point. though. that Moon should have strongly considered folding. His rather loose call suggests that he might have called with even weaker hands like trips, diamond + pair or two pair, partly justifying kopp's push.

  • @vegasnutzz yeah, but 98% wouldnt have shoved like kopp did.

  • this hand is a oerfect example of how brutal torny poker can be. Almost a guaranteed november 9er and one slip upand hes out lol

  • i like moon dosent have a big ego .. 1 million is just as good as 20 million to him.. and hes a humble guy.. pretty cool dude

  • I made a bet with my brother when this was on tv that if Darvin Moon won i would squeeze my balls until they bled..trust me i was shitting my pants when he made it to the final 2 lol

  • @DelicceLawless2 Some friendly advice from a stranger: Never make a bet like that again.

  • @rovert40 i know man it was a close call!

  • Don't mind the preflop re raise from Kopp, but I would just check back the turn for pot control/paired board. Obviously KK isnt in Moons range (well it did flat chewys JJ with KK), but I like peeling one here. I think his mentality from the get go was 'i haz a flush and its 6 handed I must be good!". Good call from Moon. I don't think Kopp is shoving 99/22/KK here on the turn

  • Good call by Moon

  • Comment removed

  • Dont judge his poker ability by one video, its only after he sucked out on 3 guys (by calling THREE ALL IN with Q 10 clubs) that he started to play seriously and actually think. Moon got very lucky on day 6 and 13, and did 2-3 suckouts on the final table

  • darvin moon plays well! lool The only hand that could beat him was the Ace diamond with another diamond! so yes darvin mood did a good call! ah or K 2 or 9 2 or 22 but NO ONE plays with those hands... well 22 but even so..

  • @grimm6jack pcket kings and nines

  • @WENDELVA ah forgot those but ... oh well

  • @WENDELVA and pocket sevens

  • @grimm6jack yeah, but that would be one ugly river

  • @grimm6jack what about Pocket 9s? pocket Kings? he did raise preflop

  • Great raise by Kopp pre-flop. He could have been blinded out that day and gone to the final table in like 4th place.

  • Darvin Moon is a great player.

  • @CUBANSIREN ...hows your Tourette's coming along?..lol

  • DARVIN MOON IS A REDNECK ASSHOLE, I'M SO HAPPY JOE CADA WHIPPED HIS ASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • If Billy could see what cards Darvin had at that stage of the tourny then pushing was a good play, what was bad was that Darvin didnt think what he could possibly beat and made a hero call seems like Fatigue won here.

  • darvin was lucky for most of the wsop but he was able to capitalize because he wasnt scared and had no problems doubling people up. he knew long-term he couldnt outplay everyone, so he made the stakes high early and made the pros gamble. it was risky but smart.

  • Lol, noobs pretending to be pros xD

Knowing both hands its easy to say when to call. With the pressure and no information,i wonder if you guys could beat ANY of those guys you call "Big fish"

  • @tadashimori

There was plenty of info. One big stack is not going to go after another big stack unless they have a huge hand. Both should have been worried and played small ball. I know both guys were probably tired and weren't thinking straight but if that's how they truly play I would have no problem playing against both of them.

  • @billrlamp yeah right =), so why don't you play pro poker?

  • ok its a bad play but its not that bad. i mean he had a flush what are the odds of the other guy having 2 diamonds.

  • wtf?? he flopped a flush, how is this a fuckin meltdown, seriously anyone who says that either player played this hand bad is a gigantic nit. The money is going to go in 99.99% if the time.

  • @doognadoshi

This is the final 2 tables of the main event. Not a 0.02 cent sit n go on Pokerstars.

  • Play it safe idiot! 3 players from final table!

  • i wouldn't have made that call not because im a poker superstar but because i would be so fucking scared not to make the final table

  • what a nub..

  • On another note, sick brave call by Moon.

  • that's just bad luck. hard to say i'd play that hand better, but i certainly hope so. there's just too many hands that have you beat there to shove it all in.

  • no melt down here, you faggot

  • Dumb, dumb, dumb

  • control the size of the pot with a flush? lol

  • @galeng yes. remeber its not cash game. its a tourny. when you have a big stake you wont play big pots agaist the chip leader.

I good tourny player probably will loose a lot of chips in that hand but probably wont go out in 12th place!

  • how can you sleep again in your entire life knowing u could be like 4 millons dollar richier if you had make a different play... the smart play? poor guy

he went for all and end up losing all... its quite common in gambling.

  • billy kopp is just a donkey catching cards. why would you raise 5 3 in this situation. glad he was busted !

  • this is what online poker has done to poker

  • Both players played this hand terrible, kopps turn shove is disgustingly bad. Even darvins call is bad but not nearly as bad as kopps play.

  • kopp prob put darvin on top pair with nut flush draw and was protecting his hand. but bad play preflop, flop AND turn by kopp.

  • Given how reckless Kopp is, I was actually glad he didn't make the November Nine.

  • If I were Kopp, I would have waited until after the river to sell my "bluff". With 3 diamonds on the board and a pair of 2s, an all-in before the river means that Kopp probably trying to protect his set or small flush. Moon knows that if Kopp had the nut flush or the boat, Kopp would raise on the River.

A bad play and bad decision by Kopp, and a very easy read and call for Moon.

In reality, with 2 small diamonds, I would play conservative and fold to get myself in the final table.

  • @VF5 lol

  • Kopp is a donk, his all in would only be getting called by a better hand.

  • @074Jesse not really, maybe in your home games yea but thishand is played on a higher level they don't care what the cards are. not that any of you would understand why

  • @074Jesse

His play was really bad, but imo darvin calls was much worst.. Kopp could have fh or flush and if flush its very posible A high flush, which was trying defend.

  • @074Jesse No he's not lol

  • would also like to point out that before the all in plays moon was playing it beautifully. playing it slow because he knew kopp had something. re raising to lure the all in.

  • I don't know why people keep saying this is a bad call by Moon.

    1. It's 6 handed

    2. Kopp had a loose and wreckless image.

    3. If you had the nut flush or boat, wouldn't you smooth call the bet and look to go over the top of Moon's inevitable river bet.

  • @Mitjitsu if you consider the chips at stake both players should've played it alittle slow. not saying that moon's play was smart but he had to made the call because it was a stupid all in bet by kopp.

there were just too many hands he could lose too. kopp's stupid bet made this disaster

  • Garbage hand. 3-5 loser GO play at UB I need the money.. Billy Kopp Sucks!!!!

  • Chris Moneymaker created a monster.Look at those idiots playing a semifinal table at the main event of WSOP.They both played really bad. Going all in with a weak full house and the board paired and the other calls with the second full. They were 2 of the last 12 players because they were lucky donkeys. Kopp called a all in of Francois Balmigere with just a draw. He was gambling like another donkey called Steve Begleiter.Darvin Moon doubled up Antoine Saout and folded a hand commited to the pot.

  • This was so bad that on ESPN they skipped him shaking peoples hands and exiting the building.

  • i wanted to play like darvin moon, so relaxed!!

  • darvin moon rocks!

  • no matter how many I see this,I can't stop laughing, sorry but it ways too funny

  • Another thing that bothers me about Billy Kopp is that he says he wasn't going back to school in Kentucky anytime soon. If you've been there six years, FINISH SCHOOL. Get something more valuable than a poker game. Look at Huck Seed and Chris Seed- both studied mathematics or other math-related trades, and look at how successful they are at the table. Memo to Kopp: finish school, THEN play poker. If poker doesn't work out, you have something else to go on.

  • Oops, meant to say Chris Ferguson.

  • This is enough to take suicide right at the table.. omfg!

  • Tough

  • i love meltdowns

  • I'm 15 and I would have folded 5-3.

  • and i would not

  • @KingOfKatamari Folded 3-5? When was he in a position to fold? He was leading out, the only person that could've folded was the luckbox Moon. Don't think you're good cause you're not. Learn first, then comment...

  • @Josho4096

I meant at the turn. Darvin's aggression with the check-raise would have told me "okay, maybe he has a better flush" and I would have folded almost instantly.

  • @KingOfKatamari YEAH RIGHT! Idiot, It's not that easy.

  • I say: Go to the WSOP '10 main event and show billy kopp he's an idiot. Let's see how far you get

  • That's why he was in the final 12 and you're a 15 year old on youtube.

  • just like moon said thats a short stack play.

  • I love the drama on this- Norman says "If Darvin calls, Billy is GONE!" Then as Lon talks, the camera does a dramatic close-up on Darvin before he calls. Still made for good drama IMO.

  • KOPP = IDIOT

  • Comment removed

  • 2:32 Darvin said it best. "What's he doing raising 3/4 with 35 with a stack like that?" lol. If you're that close to the final table with that many chips, you should be insta-mucking those hands.

  • I will admit, though, as Norman said, if you flop a flush, you're bound to think it's good. Not to say he didn't make a mistake, but it's also a bit unlucky as well.

  • Darvin Moon's really a cool guy.

  • Kopp = donk

  • I think Billy Koppout signed to Ultimate Bet not Full Tilt. UB sucks anyway as they have Hellmeuth. The hand where Darvin lied to his wife was when he pushed someone out with KQ missing, he had nothing. He walked over to wife on camera and said he had queens. Smart for 2 reasons...first, other friends may have heard him say it and he wanted them to know and relay. Second, it was to his wife....lol.

  • lol and fulltilt signed on this guy...

looks like fulltilt will be letting him go anytime soon

  • billy kopp sucks. hes so stupid.

  • thats not a meltdown should see me losing 90cents

  • Yes!

  • BTW, Moon was pretty much a lucky donk, but he was pretty cool. He showed his inexperience heads up. Although, I have a ton of respect for him when he lied to his wife on national TV....awesome...LOL!!!!

  • lol

  • When did He lie to his wife? Could u please give the link 2 watch it??

  • It was 6 handed, so it was a good call by Moon for those of you saying it wasn't (including Kopp). Also, another blunder not mentioned by ANYONE, earlier Kopp layed down 44 preflop with a small raise in front of him. He would've hit a set on the flop and a boat on the river. Moon would've hit trips 9s. Kopp most likely would've won a big pot, maybe even cripple Moon. 2 horrid inexplicable plays by Kopp, he deserved what he got. Cada hit the lottery jackpot, not impressed. Any of us can win it.

  • i wish darvin won the WSOP, he didn't play great at the ft (unil HU), but Joe Cada was a card catching joke

  • I agree. Moon made a bad call to lose it. He got impatient when he could have waited for a better spot.

  • LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

  • its not a bad a play as people think, he just shouldnt be playing the 5,3 suited when hes the chip leader and only 3 places left till the november 9. The actual play on the board was pretty standand & kind of a cooler. Though it was his own fault for raising it up with 5,3..

  • If I was darvin I would have folded then

  • I've seen a lot of poker, but I've got to say with all honesty that that hand was the worst I've ever seen somebody play it.

  • You won't be seeing either of these two deep in any WSOP event again.

  • that's 4 sure
