  • Without fault Ideal du Gazeau was the winner.

    Great horse was the French...he was able to race outside and was a great fighter in track.

  • @yourworstnightmare71 Ideal while a top horse I think would have been clobbered by both Lutin D'Isgny (who won the two fastest Internationals at Roosevelt of 2:30 in 1984 and 2:31 in '85) and Reve U'don, who won the 1990 International at Yonkers parked five turns in a then-world record equaling 2:28 3/5 for 1 1/4 Miles and nearly did it again the following year, only losing that International to Peace Corps, arguably the greatest trotting mare of all time.
