Believe it or not, this song is THE HOOTERS from Philly. This was their first single here in Philly. I can't believe they used this song in the Obama photage. Glad you like it. They were a great party band to see live :) Take care - let 's hope for the best in this election.
Yeah? I'm from Philly. I grew up listening to them on 'MMR. I made this video - not the Hooters. I live in Indiana now and Barack Obama came to my town. This is video of him here - I just added the music. I'm hoping for the best too. And, after quite alot of thought, I'm voting for the most qualified candidate. Just 13 days left until President-elect Obama!
I'm jealous I wasn't there. I hope people vote with their brains, and don't believe this gas tax holiday gimmick... which will actually hurt Americans.
I hope you didn't mind me using your very cool WFHB footage as part of my video. I appreciate you putting yours up there too. I was on Kirkwood to make a quick stop at Monroe Bank and left just about 5pm Friday. So, I just missed Obama. Could have kicked myself. Your footage put me back in the vibe.
Wonderful edit of materials at hand to catch the vibe of Friday's Obama drive-by in Btown. Very proud to see my "Barack Does Bloomington" footage put to instant use in cyberspace! Jim Manion aka ionriff
This is their version of The Skatalites' "Man In The Street," a live demo from the very first Hooters recording session in 1980, which was also the band's first song to be heard on the radio. I think it was first played by Pierre Robert, WMMR-FM 93.3. Pierre, correct me if I'm wrong.
Barack Obama made a surprise visit to my town of Bloomington, Indiana on Friday, March 11th 2008. I added music by The Hooters, "Man In The Street" from their CD, Amore. They are an independent rock band from my home town of Philadelphia.

He signed his name upstairs at Nick's English Hut on Kirkwood.

This was a lot of fun. I can't recall this much enthusiasm among people since RFK in 1968. I'm happy to have been able to have been a part of it.
