He was a great musician to be sure. In my opinion, the Skillet Lickers were on the top rung of old time music from this era. They combined showmanship with flawless musical performance, and had an infectious sense of fun about the whole thing. Thank you for watching and I'm glad you enjoyed it as I do. Hope you have a great day, Brian
@BBYMRLCCOTN Being from North Georgia, the Skillet Lickers, along with Fiddlin'John are some of My favorites.Riley Puckett was born about 10 miles from where I live.I have most of the original 78's of the Skillet Lickers, but it's easier listening to Your channel than digging out all those old records.
That's awesome! Your part of the country has so much history. I have always enjoyed Mr. Carson as well. All great acts. It's neat that you have most of their records. That must be a lot of records as they recorded prolifically. Do you have any requests for Skillet Licker songs? If you do, I'll be happy to put them up. Have a nice day, Brian
@BBYMRLCCOTN I been collecting records for about forty years now,but they are getting harder to come by.most of the Skillet lickers and fiddlin' John 78's I have were used to make the reissue albums for County sales records.I bought them from Dave Freeman.I've also got quite a few Charlie Poole 78's.I don't have any particular Skillet Licker request, but how about Riley the furniture man by the Georgia crackers?
Hey! That's really neat that you have those treasures. I checked, and I don't have Riley the furniture man on my computer, but I do have Diamond Joe. Sorry about that. I hope you have a great day, Brian
