hey, this is fairly METICILOUS cover work here gang.naysayers shut up!!they have the right equipment, and all parts are pretty damn spot on.good beatle stuff here.
I hate bands who try and relive beatlemania! It's so stupid.... Don't they understand that no one could ever try and redo the beatles?? They are legends! And it's just embarrassing when you try
btw I noticed one strange thing with tribute bands, why the hell guitars are so DEAD? I mean it must be loud as hell, tons of high tones, pure vox sound with easy gain on it. THey all have guitars and looks, but I can't hear THAT sound, that patented rickenbacker bell-ring!!! look for motion film like backbeat they made true hell in there!! I hope i would hear performance like that in mylife..
@Holms if you want it to sound like the Beatles live turn down the computer and invite 20 or 30 girls over and have them scream into your ears as it plays then you will experience the live sound they actually heard I have a larger sound system than they played live with set up at My house
@sirlonghair infact we had one great tribute band in lithuania, once... and they sounded really astonishing, although they hadn't had any original instruments.... just the look and skills =) everything was tuned at their best! and yeah there was tons of scream, and I hadn't heard a lot even in the first row, BUT i saw a record later after concert, and everything sounded perfect. still lennons rhythm part must like "ringin' the bell" ! =)
@sirlonghair nextime try to HIDE that low tones of drums, it's sounds like polka in here.. look closure some beatles bootlegs of live perfomance, there's one from amsterdam when jimmy nicol was instead of ringo, that live was recorded in the back of the hall, and you can hear clearly why beatles are so awesome in there, I mean drums made everything, that patented tone.. you need to listen to this recording. there are more cimbels that anything else in there.. and pauls bass was very heavy also
I agree poibio50...I have seen Fab 4 twice and these guys 1 time. Both are great...but Fab 4 has REALLY great "John & Paul's" and the best George (Gavin Pring).
This was because #1: Ringo was originally a lefty playing righty, so he had a tendency to bash the hi hat, and #2: probably had something to do with the way the drums were mic'd.
I been wahing theses guys since I was 5 and still the best ever. I just recenly saw them in Cambridge Ohio Oct 4 2007 and still just like they were when I was 5. I talked with them and got autograhs. Such nice guys I would like to start a Tribute Band but if im not close to theses guys i wont do it because in my eyes if your not as close to theses guys then its just a insult to the beatles hard work and 1964's hard work.
Damn these guys rock! They are so tight and have the music down! It is so cool to see people who love the Beatles so much...this is their way of saying thank you!
I've seen these guys twice - it's uncanny - like they're lip-synching. Notice there are no amps - they play through guitar pods and they're able to exactly recreate the guitar sounds of the mid '60's. And Ringo is an absolute dead- ringer.
These guys are great and I understand how hard it can be to cover Beatles tunes but they tune a 1/2 step down to make it easier to cover the vocal range. Not a bad thing mind you just an observation.
true--half step down but in fairness, the beatles were fantastic singers and trying to do the original keys ain't easy! (plus the beatles 'cheated' the same way themselves on occassion)
I agree its not easy but I know several very good Beatle tribute bands that do the tunes in their original keys that do not get the credit that 1964 does.
I have seen them about 6 times at this venue but happened to miss this performence:( I am looking forward to this October when they are in Andover again. They are the most amazing tribute I have seen.
hey, do u happen to know what day in october they're playing on, what time its starting, and where its at? I checked on their website, and it STILL says "October Dates Realeased On July 23)....and it says nothing else.
I'm glad that somebody mentions how the early records sounded with Ringo's cymbal bashing. I disagree totally with this idea because it adds a tight, swooshy background to all the songs instead of an empty space sound. The poster wins the case because most all music past 1968 has that closed, no-bleed through effect. To me, it sounds "canned" as opposed to alive.
They not only "look right" right down to Ric's and the lefty Hofner, but the sound is incredible, almost like listening to the recording. Much better then that over hyped Beatlemainia on Broadway back in the 70's IMHO
I love theses songs i love the way this tribute band sings them!
