I'm not sure what Sheilds' point was on the toy marketing, but the toy manufacturers have a vast bonanza of revenue from PBS's programming. Most of the garbage they produce is left-wing propaganda, and my kids have never watched it, except for when we watch classic Sesame Street songs here on YouTube. They've never gotten a dime from me, though, except through their taxpayer funding. I'm hoping their "tit" dries up soon.

Simple rules of an economy, if a product has demand people will buy it and the company will thrive. If a product has no demand and people don't buy it, the company goes out of business.

With NPR they have a product not many are interested in and yet they are forcing people to buy it. If NPR truly offers unbiased high quality news they should be able to stand on their own two legs. If not than they should go out of business.
