@coolio5077 That IS something all new Mac users should do, I agree. However, if they use an Apple Mouse in Gmod, they still won't be able to freeze objects without a key bound to +attack2.

@studdman9 Open Garry's Mod, click Options, and change your "Numpad" keys to keys you can press on your MacBook.

My mac has a MOUSE2 if you dont u can hold ctrl and use MOUSE1

@shadowshuun Most of the time when you're pressing MOUSE2 in GMod it's to freeze something you're holding onto with MOUSE1, and Ctrl+MOUSE1 wouldn't work in that instance because you would have to let go of MOUSE1.

If only they'd fix source recorder so it worked properly with GMod, and ported hammer editor properly - then I'd be optimistic about sticking to my macbook pro - on which Gmod runs great for a 4 yr old machine - and not have to frustrate myself with my VERY unstable PC.

PC users have completely logical reasons why PCs are better although Mac users just yell, scream and make random facts about the 2 OSs just to put their favourite to justice. I'm on neither side I don't like macs any more than pc and I don't like pc any more than macs I'm just along with all the other PC users; smart enough to know that the Apple's OS sucks.

@pigarrow9 Garry's Mod requires that you hold down both mouse buttons at once to freeze objects, which you can't do on any Apple mouse.

What did you use to record this with? I want to make gmod vids on the mac but some of the problems are with getting audio from the internet, not having fraps, and not having Sony Vegas :(

My shitty PC can barely run the game any more without lagging, but that's what I use to make videos.

@primospartan Source Recorder. Works on all Source engine games (Garry's Mod, Team Fortress 2, Half-Life 2, etc.), google 'Source Recorder Mac' to get a tutorial on how to use it on OS X, as the Windows method crashes the game.

@primospartan You don't. If you have a Source engine game like Garry's Mod, you have it. You need to search on Google for a tutorial of how to use it if you don't know.

The only thing wrong about gmod on the mac is that there isn't a number pad so you can use thrusters or anything

@lolman906 That's only if you have the default keyboard. If you don't have a numpad, then you can...

- use a keyboard that has a numpad

- buy keyboard with numpad from Apple

- Bind numpad commands to keys on keyboard

- Make a script so that when you hold down a key (such as the command key) all the number keys act as numpad keys

I usually do the last one, since all my other keyboards aren't nearly as comfortable as my Apple one, and I don't have to buy a new one. PM me if you want the script.

@razer36336 Some addons aren't compatible with Mac OS X. In this case, run a Windows server and connect to it, use Boot Camp, or use virtual machines.

Or maybe Garry will fix it eventually.

1. Go and buy a gaming mouse from your local electronics store.

2. If you own a Macbook, press on the mouse pad with two fingers.

3. If you own an iMac or the "two finger press" isn't working out for you, you press control+click.

It's not that hard to right-click on a Mac, why does everyone make it seem so difficult?

Gmod, TF2, HL2, L4D2 and Portal all work fine on OS X. They do take a while to load in comparison to on Windows (at least from my experience) but they're much smoother. (Again, for me. Neither my Mac or PC are made for gaming)

do you understand your illiteracy? i don't think garry would choose sides, and you can't have a better picture. A gpu makes the picture, your monitor only represents it. That's why a faster gpu = more fps in games. Windows PC's are still miles ahead of macs in hardware.

loljk, but you're probably just saying that because of what you see in this video (IDK) but if so, trust me there's way more you can do than just build random crap, like play special game modes and kind of play levels from other Source engine games. And you can turn on multiplayer in Gmod as well.
