  • Great memories of a great series. I wish someone would upload the whole thing

  • Not sure where the music comes from...Anybody else like to guess?

  • @AdlerProds the music is called "Newsweek" by Graham De Wilde

  • What is the music that is played near the end of this clip?

  • He's making it all up, otherwise it sounds like a mad house full of retarded attention seekers. In actual fact it was to get the envy juices of the working classes flowing in the 80's. The QE2 was just within their reach if they saved hard enough, and Whicker was contracted to make a streaming advert for Cunard & dress it up as a documentary. The QE2- A true Gin Palace if ever there was one stuffed full of asbestos.

  • @thyasus I worked on there as a steward for 5 years (and while he was filming this documentary) and he captured the mood brilliantly...A magnificent ship and Whicker was an artist :-)

  • Masterfull. Alan Whicker is a broadcasting giant. I cannot understand why its not Sir Alan

  • @CRISIS550166 Just because someone spins a few yarns whilst having free holidays in front of a camera they should be given a Knighthood? Mind you Knighthoods are utterly meaningless so why not. You'll be saying he's a national treasure or a legend or maybe even a genius I expect? The television industry has a glut of them. Maybe you'd like a large fan to waft their egos too?

  • @thyasus 50 years at the top of any buisness deserves reward... You obviously know Mr Whicker well to comment on his ego.

  • @CRISIS550166 he will always be Sir Alan to me!

The man the stud the legend!
