  • Already!!! Thx Man

  • he sounds like anomyous for sme reason

  • Yeah the top comment answers this question. Guess I wasn't paying attention cuz I was pissed. Damn game developers, probably a bunch of overgrown kids sitting around baked playing video games all day. No wonder there are so many mistakes when these things are released. Sign me up. Seriously, this one is a little too obvious guys.

  • Just had rules checked. This is really bananas. I mean, where is the logic? "There is no way it can deal damage to you once being blocked". Isn't that called cheating?

  • Three expansions and none fixing this bug or, more correctly, devs stupidity. Are there other cards like this? With contradicting invalid abilities?

  • why doesnt the ai block the 8/8 creature....

  • y wouldnt they block ur 7/7? lol stupid shit o.O

  • This is such an awesome game i'm glad I bought it.

  • Some of the annoying things about this game i have a bad feeling with is drawing cards at times with the cpu i draw countless mana or not a single at all. And the deck options are horrible they should at least do a few tweaks. to many cards

overall the game is great i like it but i just find those things annoying . I enjoy playing cardgames but tbh i wouldnt play magic and nobody else would. and im sure as hell not going 2 those meetings/conventions have better thing to do

  • YOUTUBE IS AWESOME

  • This one was pretty easy to do.

  • U play chandra on the 4th match? shes supposedd to be first match.the 4th is supposed to be liliana.this is for xbox 360 right?

  • @Simikov its challenge not a campaign

  • The developers made a mistake. Phage + terror should have worked. To be fair, the AI should have blocked phage with both their creatures just to be safe, but they don't.

  • @engrconway Nope they didn't make any mistake... Go check the rules from m10 and m11 m8... even if they declare the blocker and u terror it, Phage is still declared as blocked.

  • @hellprince1 theres a few tweaks the game can get fixed on. and it would make much more sense for the cpu to block the 1s with the highest attack or abilities such as those of phage. countering skeletons lol

  • @engrconway

i couldn't believe it! in my first try, i read the cards, just attacked and played terror on the creature that was about to block my phage....... and i lost

  • @engrconway 1st thing i did and i did it asap just after my phage was targeted . i was like wtf? should of at least been both

  • @engrconway yeah this game has some serious mistakes... i dont really care since i got it for free (you know with this welcome back thing on ps3), but if i had paid for it, i would be pissed right now...

  • @engrconway oh and also. why the fuck can't i see the cards on the table??? for example, i had to come here to notice that there was already another megrim on the table...thats fucking stupid. i really don't understand why i can't see all the cards on the table...

  • @engrconway virgin

  • @engrconway As the most popular comment on this video I feel the need to show you what the rule really is and why the developers did not make a mistake. You made this post ten months ago so maybe you already know about this, but, in case you don't, here's the rule that makes your play impossible.

510.1C "A blocked creature assigns its combat damage to the creatures blocking it. (If, for example, the blocking creatures were destroyed or removed from combat) it assigns no combat damage."

  • i hope there are slivers available, slivers is one of my prefered decks

  • june 16th on steam in Australia

  • @lewisdowie wow its not banned =p

  • Anyone know when this will be out for PC? : ) Reply if you know when plz =) Prefer games on Pc ^^

  • I don't understand. Why can't you win simply by using terror on whichever creature chandra decides to block Phage with. Phage will deal damage and cause chandra to lose.

  • The rules say that a blocked creature will do no damage to the opponent unless it's got trample.

  • Oh, so even if a blocking creature is destroyed before damage is dealt the creature it blocked is still considered blocked?

  • Yup. Unless it has trample. In that case, all the trample damage goes through directly against your opponent.

  • @buckeye10smith

you attack with phage, play terror on the creature that blocked it so you destroy it BEFORE it blocks! so phage isnt considered blocked

  • @idrive12 that doesn't work, and I know why now. Its because in the rules it says once blockers are declared those creatures are blocked. it doesn't matter if those blockers are killed right after. To put it in more technical terms, blocks don't use the stack so you can't play an instant in response to blocks.

  • @buckeye10smith This is part 5 of my response: To clarify once more, once an instant, such as "Terror" or "Unsummon" or "Boomerang" is played, regardless of whether or not they were at any time considered "blockers", as long as you play the instant before the "DAMAGE phase" is played, the creature it was supposed to be blocking ends up inflicting damage to the player in every single case. I have done it countless times using the "Thoughts Of Wind" deck. Try it and you'll see for yourself.

  • @mydyinwish @mydyinwish Yea, I made that comment almost a year ago and I am much more knowledgeable about magic now, so that is why I am confident in calling bullshit on everything you just said. Once a creature is blocked it is BLOCKED. If you remove the blocker the attacker is still blocked. The only way a creature could still deal damage is if it had trample. Goolge "removing blockers in MTG" and just research for a few minutes.

  • @buckeye10smith wizards.com/magic/comprules/MagicCompRules_20110204.pdf

509.2a During the declare blockers step, if a blocking creature is removed from combat or a spell or ability causes it to stop blocking an attacking creature, the blocking creature is removed from all relevant damage assignment orders. The relative order among the remaining blocking creatures is unchanged.

  • @buckeye10smith Remember, the keywords in the ruling are: "if a blocking creature is removed from combat...the blocking creature is removed from all relevant damage assignment orders" Which is exactly what I have been saying. The Phage would inflict damage and damage would be assigned to the opponent and the game would be lost. I have been playing MTG since the game first came out, Alpha edition. I have been playing in real life (not on the computer) since '93 (junior in HS).

  • @mydyinwish yeah but dude if you block a creature and all blockers have been assigned and you play unsummon on your blocker the creature is considered blocked still but no damage is dealt

  • @buckeye10smith Furthermore: 506.4. A permanent is removed from combat if it leaves the battlefield, if its controller changes, if it phases out, if an effect specifically removes it from combat, if it’s a planeswalker that’s being attacked and stops being a planeswalker, or if it’s an attacking or blocking creature that regenerates (see rule 701.11) or stops being a creature. A creature that’s removed from combat stops being an attacking, blocking, blocked, and/or unblocked creature.

  • Comment removed

  • @buckeye10smith Look at that first sentence: A permanent is removed from combat if it leaves the battlefield...... When you cast "Terror" the wording on the card is very specific. On Terror, the card states: "Destroy target nonartifact, nonblack creature. It can't be regenerated." The definition of Destroy is: "To move a permanent from the battlefield to its owner’s graveyard. See rule 701.6, “Destroy."

Terror is an "instant" spell & resolves instantly unless countered higher up in a stack

  • @buckeye10smith Tell me then why if my creature 1 blocks an oponnent creature 2 and the oponnent casts an instant (insinerate for example) which successfully destroys blocking creature 1 and afterward that creature 2 still induces damage to my planeswalker. Even if you say it doesn't stack or whatever.

  • @Daniilregis In addition to previous comment, creature 2 is without any possession of a so called ability "Trample".

  • @Daniilregis The creature wouldn't deal damage to your planeswalker. The most popular comment for this video is wrong. Check the rules. i don't think the rule makes sense either but that IS THE RULE.

  • @buckeye10smith Yep. I've already figured. Maybe I'm wrong. Perhaps this is for the balance of the game.

  • @buckeye10smith This is part 4 of my response: The ruling (the wording) on Phage the Untouchable states:

"Whenever Phage deals combat damage to a player, that player loses the game." So, when you remove the blocker, Phage is no longer blocked, does damage and the result should be that the combat damage inflicted causes the opponent to lose. The statement u made about "once blockers are declared those creatures are blocked. It doesn't matter if those blockers are killed right after" is wrong

  • @buckeye10smith This is Part 3 of my response: When you play "Terror" on a creature, regardless of whether or not it's attacking or blocking, it's an instant and therefore it resolves instantly, resulting in instant removal of that creature's abilities to attack or block. In this particular case, when ANY creature is assigned to block "Phage The Untouchable" and is then removed BEFORE the Damage phase (aka the combat resolution phase), it is no longer being blocked & damage is inflicted.

  • @buckeye10smith This is Part 2 of my response:

This is why you and the developers are wrong (yes, the developers of the software contradicted the WOTC rulings on assigning combat damage): When a creature is removed from the game, it's abilities such as the ability to block damage, inflict damage, enhance other creatures, etc... are immediately removed from the battlefield as well (unless specifically stated). Continued in next post.....

  • @buckeye10smith This is part 1 of my response.

Your statement is both right and wrong. The rules of M:TG are very complicated.

Here's where you are correct: Once blockers are declared, they are considered "blocked," (while the creature exists). It's important to know when a creature is being blocked not just for assigning damage in combat. It's also important because some spells or abilities only target "blocked" or "blocking" creatures.

  • @idrive12 Exactly. Read my responses to buckeye10smith's post for a further clarification.

  • @idrive12 I don't know if you still believe this, but this is the second most popular comment for this video so I felt the need to correct you again because I can't let ignorant viewers of this video believe the comment you made eight months ago. Not trying to be insulting.

    here is the rule

rule 510.1C "A blocked creature assigns its combat damage to the creatures blocking it. (If, for example, the blocking creature(s) were destroyed or removed from combat) it assigns no combat damage."

  • @buckeye10smith Thats the first thing i tried, but somehow Phage does no damage.... maybe the developers f**Ked up

  • ha i enjoyed the way u finished your opponent i didnt think u could pull it off that turn i thought u would have to wait till next turn
