Kerala is the best natural place to live in india and so the govt has less expense in running the cities compared to other parts where water shortage is huge. Also in just 3-4 hour from the hot seaside u can reach the cool mountain ranges. It has backwaters, speed boats, closer to tourist spots of Tamil nadu and karnataka and lakshadeep islands. Cool climate with highest sea fish yielding harbors in india, fresh seafish.

You are right but the so called cleanest city in India,Bangalore is much worse,What about Mumbai?Its full of slums,Delhi is dirty too,you won't see slums in Kerala but I've to say roads in other states are much better than Kerala.Topography of Kerala plays a big role in this.Due to rainy season and trees,roads won't last but there is another thing that should be considered.Most of the roads in Kerala are tarred.Even pocket roads but in other states,pocket roads are not tarred
@fabergeMarks I know about Arab strategy but I don't think it will work out in Kerala as even the most down ward people are pretty much educated but gotta congratulate them for their good work,believe me their works are so fast and the city plan is awesome and I hope they will clean the entire area.Anyway our land is just for lease,the last govt. thought of giving the arabs money for making smart city alive but people protested,now its for lease,so I hope there is no problem

The official agreements for smart city kochi and malta were signed around the same time in ealry 2007. Smart city Malta is ready for completion in Ocober 2010, according to an official press release. I guess it speaks volumes of the way things are handles by the government of Kerala.
